  • Wasn’t controversial for me, the rounds were competitive but makhachev won rounds 1 and 4; volkanoski won 3 and 5. So it comes to round 2 both fighters were hurt but makhachev had the take down and controlled the grappling. Makhachev won that round and the fight but volkanoski showed why he is the greatest featherweight of all time.

  • Everyone should watch TheWeasle's breakdowns for controversial decisions. Great KZheadr that understands the current rule set with the knowledge on how to apply it to the fights. Due to the way striking effectiveness is measure, damage>volume, Makhachev just edged it. However P4P-wise, imo, had they been the same size (volk slightly more power), the strikes would've been causing a bigger impact and leading to more rounds for Volk.

Usually only when a fight goes to a technical decision does 10-10 scoring start to factor in, its extremely rare in a typical fight that goes the distance. • Alot of volk highlights didn't even connect watch Henry cejudos breakdown he literally explains it and he had volk winning after the fight but then rewtched it on mute

  • Volkanovski is still pound for pound the best fighter in the world. He moved up from featherweight where he was already considered to be undersized to lightweight to face a guy who wouldn't look out of place at welterweight and gave him his hardest ever test while finishing round 5 on top, bashing his face in.

    • Who considers him undersized for featherweight? He’s short but still a big guy. Dude used to weight 200 in his rugby days. He has huge reach too.

    • Far from small. Volk fought at 170 - 155 - 145. Not to mention he can reach 200 pounds.

  • I like you true Geordie but attempting to score the rounds and talk about how you can see a 10-9 either way etc when you’re only watching the highlights is so stupid

  • I dont get the lay on the ground holding your opponent but not doing anything, Vokonovski probably did more damage hitting him in the head on the ground

  • I think it should have been a draw at least or a split decision for Volk. Both guys did amazing but you can't beat another fellow champion if he finishes the fight beating you down with your signature ground pound. Deffo need to see a rematch

    @MimiPipoo@MimiPipoo Жыл бұрын
    • That’s not how MMA works pal. Just because you wanted Volk to win doesn’t mean winning the 5th round wins you the whole fight. Disrespectful take tbh.

    • @@evilkhamzat yeah this guy doesnt get that damage is the number one criteria and that’s why it should have been in favor of alex or a draw. Control doesnt even factor into the equation unless all else is equal, which it was not.
