You bring up an excellent method of practicing and understanding the timing of the approach with different sets, but in game the four step approach has a very simple flaw - it's slower; the extra step takes more time, which you might not have in game, especially if you're relatively inexperienced (like me) and don't always transition fast enough from the block or the receive. Also, every set is a bit different, so you do need to change speed and rhythm of your steps. That being said, i do think this is a brilliant video, and would definitely sub to the channel.

Bro pls help my form is horrible i start good with 4 steps but in the end i jump only with my left foot and i loose a lot of jumping plus i feel like when im in air spiking that ball like with 30% of my power i cant add all my power in that spike
Start recording your reps. So important to see an objective view of your skills. Good luck 🙏
It’s the same for me but I’ll be practicing what I’ve seen in this video today 🙏🏼
I just realised this is the gap and thats a bears team shirt which is the team we lost to 😂
Up the bears 🐻
yeah but what if you start your approach when the ball is on air {after the setter touches it}
What do you think would happen 🤔
Bra video
yes
Are you at kelvin grove
this would of been helpful if im was recommend this video today
I hope it continues to be helpful lol 🙏
So my biggest issue is that I end up with the ball almost behind me when I swing. Is that a timing issue?
I think you might need to start further off the net or change the size of your steps. Get a recording of your spike and see what you can change
@@coachartieThank you so much! I'll work on that! Thanks for replying!
You need to do a summer camp
That would be so much fun! 😍
0:22 i lost it here
Prob nobody will awsner but how do i spike if the setter always just sets random tempos and u never know where the ball will go.
Ive been in the exact same predicament. I've learnt how to read my setters movements really well. If they're off the net they set higher, if they're late they set faster. It was frustrating 🤣 but I learnt a valuable lesson. How to read and predict my setter
I’m a 52yo newbie playing socially with a bunch of other learners (and a few show offs who take pity on us) so nobody has a clue where the sets are going. I’m just happy to hit the damn ball at the moment.
I got really extremely f*ckable shoulder...no worries
Good luck 💀
