    • @@aldranzam3456 I think this movie accomplished what it set out to do: recreate the hysteria surrounding Elvis when he was alive. It created a feeling. But I can understand it’s probably a little frustrating that Baz took so many liberties for the sake of his style, especially for Elvis fans who are more familiar with the history.

  • I didn't notice "Elvis" 's similarities to "The Little Mermaid" but thanks for pointing that out! Both films show that you gotta be careful who you do business and sign contracts with, and do research beforehand on how potential business partners will use or misuse your talents! Gotta have streetsmarts for that!😱

  • Biopics are never honest. But this trailer right here brought tears of laughter to my eyes! 10/10! Edit: Whatever Happened To Fun reminded me of the Weird Al biopic w/Radcliffe... So addendum, there is at least one honest biopic.

    • I seriously can't watch any current biopic without comparing it to Walk Hard. They all eventually go down that road. When I saw Rocketman I really kept expecting someone to come out and say "Hey Elton, we need you to write a big song that sums up your life perfectly in 3 minutes!"

  • Elvis: The Austin Butler Show…. seriously, he and Tom Hanks were in two completely different movies. Austin Butler gave the performance of a lifetime. While, Tom Hanks was downright puzzling. Though, “The Little Mermaid” analogy is great and puts everything in perspective.

  • The difference between this and many review channels is more then any screen junkies makes me want to watch the whole movie they are talking about. They make memes of clips or common knowledge without showing and spoiling the actual movie. Love what you guys do!

But you left out the fact that this movie contains the most terrifying moment of the year: when, at his first performance, Elvis's "wiggle" launches his producer's assistant out of her seat, screaming like she's being exorcised of a particularly stubborn demon.

  • I liked the movie, and didn't know anything about Tom Parker and his involvement with Elvis' career (although some of this was fabricated for DRAMA). However, I think it showed quite well how his career consumed him, and the people around him didn't really care for him, except his ex and his dad (who just didn't seem to know what to do). But it is a Baz film, so you're going to get the glamor.

    • Yea especially since from what I've heard a LOT of the "modern" problems muscial artist faced Elvis was one of the first to really experience it. Especially the amount of absolute influence he had.

    • There's a lot of situations of what could have been for Elvis if he wasn't so controlled and exploited by Parker. Elvis was actually said to be a really good actor and was even considered before James Dean for the lead of Rebel Without A Cause. But Parker only ever wanted him to play himself in musicals.

    • It's a very captivating film. It's not a perfect film, and it's very, uh, Baz Luhrmann-esque, but there are some genius moments, and the song choices were pretty fitting. I'm still thinking about the movie, and that really says something about it.
