  • 5:42- This was the one part of the film that genuinely made me tense up like "Oh, sh*t!", watching this thing we'd previously only seen from a distance or in the cloud suddenly fly close up into full view with that mouth. The best thing I can compare it to in real life would be when my dad and I saw fireworks at Northern Myrtle Beach over at least ten years ago, when I was a kid. For context, we stayed on the 21st floor of a hotel (I forget which). It was so high up that you could look across and literally see people working on the top of a crane at the next building over. The fireworks shot up to about our height before exploding, and the smoke expanded up close. It looked like a giant smoke spider coming right at the balcony before dissipating. It was surreal. Looking back, it was pretty incredible to have seen that. My dad stood outside on the balcony watching, but I went to my room after the first few explosions. I can't quite explain why, I knew it was only smoke. Something about seeing those fireworks turn into the Mind Flayer and then move toward us in the night sky like a 3D movie effect just unsettled me.
