** Why Do We Hunt Hogs? **
Feral hogs are a non-native and invasive species in Texas. Each year hogs cause millions of dollars in damage in the form of damaged crops, contaminated water supplies, broken equipment, transmission of diseases and injury to livestock.
Feral hogs compete with native wildlife for resources and also prey directly on the eggs and young of ground nesting birds and will actively hunt small mammals, frogs, lizards and snakes.
Due to their intelligence, adaptability, and prolific breeding habits, traditional methods of hunting and trapping have been largely ineffective in reducing the feral hog population. The introduction of night vision and thermal optics has greatly increased landowners' ability to mitigate the destruction caused by feral hogs.
Feral swine are not considered game animals in Texas and may be hunted by any means or methods at any time of year.
More information about the feral hog problem in Texas: • Feral Hogs Are Tearing...
Why do we hunt coyotes?
Coyotes are presently the most abundant livestock predators in western North America, causing the majority of sheep, goat, and cattle losses. For example, according to the National Agricultural Statistics Service, coyotes were responsible for 60.5% of the 224,000 sheep deaths attributed to predation in 2004.The total number of sheep deaths in 2004 comprised 2.22% of the total sheep and lamb population in the United States, which, according to the National Agricultural Statistics Service USDA report, totaled 4.66 million and 7.80 million heads respectively as of July 1, 2005. Because coyote populations are typically many times greater and more widely distributed than those of wolves, coyotes cause more overall predation losses. The United States government agents routinely shoot, poison, trap, and kill about 90,000 coyotes each year to protect livestock.
Coyotes typically bite the throat just behind the jaw and below the ear when attacking adult sheep or goats, with death commonly resulting from suffocation. Blood loss is usually a secondary cause of death. Calves and heavily fleeced sheep are killed by attacking the flanks or hindquarters, causing shock and blood loss. When attacking smaller prey, such as young lambs, the kill is made by biting the skull and spinal regions, causing massive tissue and bone damage. Small or young prey may be completely carried off, leaving only blood as evidence of a kill.
In the absence of the harassment of coyotes practiced by rural people, urban coyotes are losing their fear of humans, which is further worsened by people intentionally or unintentionally feeding coyotes. In such situations, some coyotes have begun to act aggressively toward humans, chasing joggers and bicyclists, confronting people walking their dogs, and stalking small children. Non-rabid coyotes in these areas sometimes target small children, mostly under the age of 10, though some adults have been bitten.

How is it costing us billions? This slaughter should not be shown without warnings for children.
Do some research. Also, parents should monitor what their kids watch...warnings or no warnings.
What a wuss
Own a farm, ranch, grow produce and gain a business off of it, and let these wild hogs roam around it, watch your profits dwindle......
They destroy farming and grazing land which alters the terrain making more prone flooding. They kill fawns, calves, and lambs. They need to be killed.
That’s Life…
Somebody's gotta do it. I can't believe that there are still some people who are ignorant of the important reasons for this having to be done. Thankyou.
Lmao it’s funny how they care so much about the hogs lives but don’t care about all the native wildlife the hogs have killed and affected
Wild hogs have a way of getting around fences.
A fence!!!! You seriously must be delusional. If you have ever been to Texas, it will be immediately evident to you that you cannot realistically fence out a pig. I hunt a ranch there that is 90,000 acres! Fencing that ranch to keep pigs out isn’t happening!
@Андрей Володов A smarter person knows the reaction of pigs to fences is like Putin to independent sovereignty. Although there is more incentive to destroy unwanted pests on your side of the fence.
@Андрей Володов Getting stuck on the wrong side makes it different, & if brother pig can't find the hole in the fence he made his unwelcome visit through, & GTF out of there before the opposition arrives he's in the custard. Deep

As a Texan, I am in full support of this. These feral hogs are a menace to crops, the environment, other animals, and most importantly, people. I only ask that you guys always try your best to end it quickly for them. They may be pests, but there’s no need to prolong their suffering if it can be helped. Other than that, great shooting! Please keep up the great work!
As a New Yorker I can’t even imagine how many farmers are losing money due to these hogs. Me,my brother and my dad did the helicopter hunt thing and it was easily the best $5,000 I’ve ever spent in my life. I had an absolute blast and the hunt guiders and pilot were really nice it was really fun raining down on hogs in a helicopter. Me and my dad would swap Ars they had some really cool guns there. 5.56,6.5 Grendel,300 blackout etc with every attachment you could possibly think of. I’ll definitely do it again in the near future
As a Canadian I totally support this 100% . Please don't let these animal rights extremists do in America what they do in Canada . There's 1,600,000 raccoons in the city of Toronto Canada and you can't even touch them and if you even hit it but eve if you hit it with a broom you can do 6 months in jail .
In Toronto Canada we have a racoon problem and politicians feel animals are more important than humans . We have 1.6 MILLION raccoons. Just imagine about mice ,rats ,squirrels and skunks .

Just did a Thanksgiving hunt with local outfitter in Okachobee FL. Used their AR platforms with thermal imaging scopes. It’s amazing what you can see clearly. We had 5.56 FMJ 55grn standard white box and 6.5 Creedmore FMJ. They both worked just fine. The 6.5 definitely did more damage to the meat. The dairy farm we hunted sure was happy with all the pigs we put down.

@coastpickle777 True. The ones we used were $5,000 and $6,000….and they aren’t the best. They were, however, ridiculously good and conditions weren’t good. Outfitter was Cast n Blast in Okachobee Florida. Solid operation and more hogs than you can possibly put down. They have access to over 100,000 acres of ranch and farms. 5 Stars….Highly Recommended.

It's amazing how many times, with pigs and foxes in particular, the beast sticks his head up and stands still as if to ask "are you talking to me?" It sure helps to make them an easier target. I'm a security guard, and for a few months I guarded a remediation site on the edge of suburbia at night. Saw both coyotes and wild hogs out there and the hogs especially surprised me at how incredibly destructive they were; they easily tore up a few hundred square feet of ground in only 30 minutes or so rooting for whatever it is they look for. That was at least wild grass, and I'd hate to think what they would do to crops. Taking the things out is a service. And I'm glad to see y'all going for quick kills and putting mortally wounded animals out of their suffering. Just because they gotta die doesn't mean we need to be cruel about it, so kudos to you for doing what you can. ....also good evidence of why semi-auto rifles with big mags ARE legitimate hunting equipment.

@@Ultimatenightvision Problem is idiots (the classic redneck attitude impression, personified from many US shooters it seems from comments, plus nut cases) behind semis. Fact is few need them, fewer still can use them effectively. You'd know that, while better than many videos, the extra misses over if using a bolt are there (which isn't a put down). Most shoot a lot more holes in the air. & there is no comparison on volume shooting if the operator can shoot ok, just many try to compensate for incompetence with firepower & it doesn't work like that. Using them in the past, the frustration of now being denied from law changes is not good, and those changes have failed badly to cure the problem, shootings have risen. Calling shooting "control" for efforts that fail to get the majority of pigs in a group is optimistic. Having tally kills/escapes recorded (frame size makes telling this difficult often) would tell a story. Seems in open field of fire areas up to 5 or so can be dealt to with ok shooters, over that success gets pretty erratic, and pigs are relatively easy to shoot on the run. If side effects for non-target species are manageable, it is difficult to understand why poison isn't first used and farming wary pigs stopped. Dead ones aren't wary, and the few that escape effective baiting can be more effectively dealt with than wading into large mobs. Traps are another effective method used right. Calling coyotes invasive pests is a long one too, and their actual damage might merit revisiting. This clip seems to show smaller pig mob size (& thus more effective kill rate by shooting) & perhaps is some circumstances the coyotes keep the reproduction rate down by getting the piglets? A similar possibility exists in some of the Australian hunting videos, and seeing a clip of a solo dingo very effectively getting a half grown pig might account for some seasons having low increases.
Let them eat cake!

It just amazes me how many of these feral menaces there are, endless amounts of them.
8.9 million in the U.S. it’s estimated they grow by 20% a year. A female can reproduce 3 times sometimes 4 times a year. They have litters of up to 12. We’ll assume 50% between genders so 6 sow’s born and 5-6 months later those 6 can reproduce and create 72 more females by the time they are a year old.
In other words you’ve gotta kill 73 female hogs a night just to make sure that you’re eliminating essentially 1 hog from the total population per night.
