** Why Do We Hunt Hogs? **
Feral hogs are a non-native and invasive species in Texas. Each year hogs cause millions of dollars in damage in the form of damaged crops, contaminated water supplies, broken equipment, transmission of diseases and injury to livestock.
Feral hogs compete with native wildlife for resources and also prey directly on the eggs and young of ground nesting birds and will actively hunt small mammals, frogs, lizards and snakes.
Due to their intelligence, adaptability, and prolific breeding habits, traditional methods of hunting and trapping have been largely ineffective in reducing the feral hog population. The introduction of night vision and thermal optics has greatly increased landowners' ability to mitigate the destruction caused by feral hogs.
Feral swine are not considered game animals in Texas and may be hunted by any means or methods at any time of year.

    • 1. thats expensive 2. they already have fences around their properties (like 2:50 there is clearly one right there. anyone with 1 eye can see that) 3. fences do nothing unless it has all pannels in the ground like a foot which is even more expensive 4. they attack people and their pets 5. they are invasive and destroy the enviroment 6. they kill and push out native species which lowers bio diversity you have zero clue what you are talking about. you should be worried about the animals that are being killed by these invasive species and the lack of biodiversity they are causing. like new zealand is litterally trying to exterminate every single rat in the country because they cause problems

The feeding habits of wild hogs make them particularly destructive to crops, woodland habitats, levees, moist soil units, golf courses, and right of ways. Wild hogs can cause massive losses for farmers during planting and before harvesting by trampling or eating crops or rooting up and eating seeds before they can sprout. Destruction of seedlings by wild hogs during forest regeneration operations can also be an economic detriment in many areas. Wild hogs also cause damage to native flora and fauna as well as the habitats in which they reside. Whether by direct predation of small mammals, amphibians, reptiles, eggs, and insects, or by competing with animals such as white-tailed deer for valuable resources, wild hogs create a stress on almost all native wildlife species.
