Texas hunters eliminate 180 feral hogs, including 74 in a single night.
This video illustrates the severity of the feral hog problem in Texas. It is also intended to help educate viewers on some of the current technology and methods that farmers, ranchers, and other private citizens are utilizing to manage this problem.
The video contains direct comparison footage of traditional Gen 3 night vision/image intensification, digital light-amplification, and various thermal imagers.

Why do We Hunt Feral Hogs?
Feral hogs are a non-native and invasive species in the United States. Each year hogs cause billions of dollars in damage in the form of damaged crops, contaminated water supplies, broken equipment, transmission of diseases and injury to livestock.
Feral hogs compete with native wildlife for resources and also prey directly on the eggs and young of ground nesting birds and will actively hunt small mammals, frogs, lizards and snakes.
With no natural predators, the feral hog population has remained largely unchecked and continues to grow exponentially.
Due to their intelligence, adaptability, and prolific breeding habits, traditional methods of hunting and trapping have been largely ineffective in reducing the feral hog population. Since hogs are mostly nocturnal, they are able to utilize the cover of darkness to feed and travel from place to place while avoiding frequent contact with humans.
In recent years, however, technological advances have resulted in the increased availability and affordability of night vision and thermal optics, giving citizens a new tool to help mitigate the destruction caused by feral hogs.
Feral swine are not considered game animals in Texas and may be hunted by any means or methods at any time of year.

Estimated 6 million wild hogs in the US increasing at about a 20% rate every year. But there aren’t enough hunters to keep up with the rate of increase year after year. Somebody needs to develop an AI rapid fire system that does not miss and fires very rapidly, set up two or three stations wipe out the whole herd.

The feral hog problem is terrible in a lot of the US (mainly texas), but great job to you guys putting a little dent in it here and there. They are a HUGE problem which will take a long period of time to take care of and reduce their numbers (if they don't keep exponentially populating). But it is great to watch. I wish I had your job and could help the landowners and farmers of Texas like you guys do, getting rid of those bastards who never should have been there to begin with. They eat and destroy everything..
How about using bait laced with contraceptive but only in a trap not frequented by animals that are not a problem?

Lmao 🤣 loved the road warrior version at the end LMAO 😜
I could watch this all day. Excellent footage. Thanks guys for sharing.
Awesome job & service to ALL of the community. Thanks.
These hogs are smart critters and get educated with every experience they have with trapping and/or shooting... just wondering if using silencers would delay their 'automatic scattering' at the sound of gunfire, so as to be better able to pick a few more off before they bolt - I think using silencers would bring a higher kill ratio. BTW, it would be good to know that these kills are filling up some deep freezers --- either way, keep up the good work boys!
Silencers would work at longer distances, and maybe give you a second or more to get onto another hog but it would likely only work at longer distances, 200 or more and at that point it would be more efficient to be as close as these guys are, to give you a lot of time while they are running away and easier targets to shoot
Cool footage and even though its more work for uploaders to do it, it was nice getting to see the same footage but through different lenses

I all the different camera technologies you bring to the hunt. The Nikon Z6 with the 85mm F/1.4 is awesome ... nice color with very little noise. What ISO was it set for?
Auto ISO, Max 32,000 I think
I'm absolutely astonished by the low-light capability of your Nikon Z6. With what must be a full moon for illumination, it's effectively daylight to that camera. Amazing. I've installed security cameras since the mid-90s, so I've got long experience with understanding light levels and electronic image capture devices.
This is perfect eradication against an invasive species! Great way to get the job done and fantastic footage! Thank you.
That was funny when that pig got shot in his anus at 13:50 and he started screaming and hollering. LOL
It's not an invasive species, it's an imported species just like the cattle they spared.
It actually doesn't look very effective. This is more about guys having fun.
If you leave a hate comment you’ve never shot a pig. 💯
Gotta say, the ratting videos are a lot more satisfying to watch. This looks like a visual arts project; just a jumbled mess of angles, colours, psychedelics, daytime/nighttime, hunter, photographers, prey, all randomly piled together.
I only became aware of the Feral Pig problem sometime around 2006 or so. It's my understanding that the damage these beasts do; agricultural and otherwise, runs into billions annually. They're also aggressive and dangerous. I've heard that there have been serious injuries..even 1 or 2 people killed by these Monstrosities.
What do they do with all the ones that are killed.
@@craigmacfarlane6372 Thanks to the Federal government. You can't sell them as meat in the store. You can harvest for personal use but sadly most get piled up to rot. If you are near a Beef farm in places like Texas they would probably help you load some up with a tractor. You will need to find a meat cutter that has separate equipment or process them yourself.
Javelinas shut down schools and all outdoor activities in many places. Seeing just a few animals is enough to shut down a local economy for several hours.
@@ulyx9804 We have feral domestic pigs. The much smaller Javelina are far less dangerous. Both have a set of tusks. Unless trapped or starving they will run away.
Around 600 years ago, before firearms, they used spears. Simply stabbing the thing meant it had a fast track to the hunter, so they ended up putting cross-bars on the spear sh it was halfway to the pig roast before it died.
