The announcement from the town of Windsor on Sunday night came hours after the governor called for an independent investigation into the December 2020 encounter. U.S. Army second lieutenant Caron Nazario, who is Black and Latino, filed a lawsuit this month against two Windsor officers, accusing them of drawing their guns, pointing them at him, pepper-spraying him and knocking him down among other actions. Windsor officials said an internal investigation determined policy wasn’t followed and Officer Joe Gutierrez has since been fired.

    • In attempting to be careful how I say this, if they treat your average citizen like this, then even an army vet shouldn’t get to slide. If I receive abuse of power directed at me, then so does he. These officers need to be removed and arrested. Plenty of people do great good in this world, but don’t have a uniform to speak of it. Something is horribly wrong with our policing, and even more wrong with the leaders who back up their behavior, from the chief on up.

And Michael Brelo of the Cincinatti Police, acquitted of murder after shooting Timothy Russell & Malissa Williams through the front windshield of their car. He & 6 other officers were fired for shooting 143 bullet holes into Russell & Williams' car. They were unarmed. Their car backfired as they passed the police station, & they were chased & fired upon because the police thought they fired a gun at them... Yes, these victims are all Black. If I take the time, I might be able to dig up similar cases where the victims arent Black. Media bias is the reason for fhis problem, but does it really matter?
