'Is This Patriot Enough?': Asian American Official Shows Military Scars, Condemns Racist Violence
He served our country... what 99% of people don't want to do, give this man the respect he deserves.
You can discriminate that 99%, but this man, you gotta respect him!!
the US actually has 2.1 million (1.3 active, 800k reserve) military personnel who went out of their way to sign up, making up 14% of those eligible for service (and 23% of men) 🤷🏽♂️ not to discredit his service, it shows a level of bravery A LOT of people would not even be able to muster, but to say 99% of people don’t want to is egregious.

As an Asian American, who’s father served active duty for 22 years and did tours in 3 separate wars, ranging from Vietnam, Panama, and Somalia I totally feel what this man is saying. I remember my father would face racism after he retired from the military and people questioned our legitimacy in being in this country. Don’t know how many times I’ve been told to go back to my country, yet I was born here, I’m already home.
much respect and love to you and your father man
Another AA here and while my dad wasn't in the army, I feel the same. My parents came here because they truly believed in the American Dream. Sure maybe the roads paved with gold wasn't the most realistic thing to believe, but they thought if they could work hard they could make a better life for themselves and for the most part they have and I'm thankful for them. I'm born in the US, I went to American schools, consumer American culture, speak American English better than my parent's native language, wear American brands, follow American politics, and work for an American company. Yet it doesn't matter to some people because I don't look white. America is my home and I want it to stay that way, I don't want to go and live anywhere else in the world.
So your father went overseas three times to hurt people did nothing bad to him. You want him to be respected for this, really?
@@roman_letell me you're a racist without telling me you're a racist. Take this L and go outside for some sunlight
My old roommate was 4th generation NewYorker and in college kids parents would ask what part of China he was from. He’d say NYC… and they’d almost always reply, “no, originally… where are you from.” NYC mother F’er.

When a person has to show their scars in order to prove how much they love their country there's definitely something wrong. Respect to the Gentlemen.
What is "wrong" is that the USA has portrayed Americans as being "White only" throughout the ages. America's continued and intentional Sin in mass proportions.
@@rusticaurbano3856 I think that carried over from the world. It's related to religion, and the roots lie way before America. America is just a victim. We're learning in the recent centuries to get over this sin, and hopefully, god willing, we will.
@@rusticaurbano3856 you make a good point
kzhead.info/sun/Y5mladt-hXx3oIk/bejne.html.
Rustica Urbano the left brainwashed you very effectively. Even your response to what I say will inevitably be a repetition of democrat propaganda slogans., but I’ll say my piece anyway. America isn’t some “institutionally racist” place where other races are constantly discriminated against by all Americans. America is simply a nation. People, as they have the right to, fear what’s different: it’s natural and has existed as an instinct since prehistoric times. Americans are generally white: fact. Only 12% of Americans are black even in the modern day. Of course, men like this man, not even US Nationals and yet still patriots and heroes, exist and have my full respect. But he chose to show his scars, he didn’t have to. People would have believed him, and been proud of and respectful to him even had he not shown those scars. I often wonder if people like you even understand your own arguments before you type them in. Slavery and oppression are not America’s invention. Every nation in the world has once taken slaves and oppressed other races, African nations, Asia has a filthy history of slavery and racism, and the British, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Aztec, Incan, Saudi Arabian and Ottoman Empires. How did you even formulate an argument like yours when information against it is so amply available? Short answer: you didn’t. What you say is just leftist slogans and propaganda perpetuated by the innocent mouths of the impressionable, like you.
The fact that anyone would dare say anything about his patriotism when he served our country for over 20 years is actually disgusting.
Go check your senators and congressmen see how many served in the US military over the years ...maybe 1 % and the American Jews never served.
they "dare" because the majority are ignorant, subhuman racists that dont know him from Adam OR any of his accomplishments or endeavors. and its only getting worse with the sad state of our education system and corrupt government policies and officials.
If you remember what american army did in last 80 years... american army not made to protect, american army made to invade and rob those countries that can't fight back.
Violence against Asians (for being Asian) is perpetrated solely by Africans-in-America and has nothing to do with their patriotism. If a single attack against an Asian were to ever be perpetrated by a White Nationalist/Patriot, the world would never hear the end of it.
Regardless of of military service or sacrifice, all Americans are worthy of respect. Americans of Asian descent should be treated as Americans. Our belonging should not be conditional. Our loyalty to the US should not be questioned.
As another 67 year old veteran you have and will always have my respect.
You are not a vet but invader.

I had a Cousin that served in the 442nd, the highest decorated unit in US history, for liberating Europe. I myself being of Asian, Danish and Hawaiian Race joined the Army at 17 and went strait to the 82nd Airborne and went to war a year later, as a fire team leader in combat. Everything I go to Hawaii, I go to Punch Bowl and Kaneohe Veteran's Cemeteries, to lay flowers and pay respect to my veteran grandparents. 😅be walked to the walls at Punch Bowk, that have the Veteran's names that are buried there and so many Asian, Polynesian and other races other than just Whites and Blacks. @NUMBER ELEVEN ikr man, when someone show his patriotism to his country threatened, it's very sad to see. Like what's wrong with you guys? He choose to serve a country he wants to live in.
@rahul Dio That is a good point. Why didn't the racist White Americans join with Hitler's racism. In WWII?

You can imagine. After fighting for your country for 20yrs, and sustained mass injuries for the rights for freedom. People walk around using those rights he fought for to be racist and question his patriotism? Sad!
So true my grandfather fought for this country n wasn't allowed to use the same restrooms as the people he fought for smh

Or... to have sacrificed 20 years of your life for a country that ended up deporting you back to Mexico! We have patriots stuck in Mexico who don’t know nothing about that country. It’s so sad!
