  • Very good to see how professional Andy does this review, it's really a joy to watch. I allready own a G305 and with a few mods this mouse gives me near perfect accuracy and control without any latency. Think I gonna stick to it for now, but it's good to have some choice in case I need it in the future. Keep the good content flowing, Ya'll rock!

    • Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the review. It's nice to hear some feedback from a G305 user, I'd definitely stick with the G305 for now too but as you said it is nice to see some different, similar, options available. Cheers - Andy

  • What wireless gaming mouse would you recommend as an alternative? I have a Logitech G603 and the weight distribution is also a problem and I am not experiencing the common issue of getting random double clicks with the left mouse button.

  • I got this mouse today! This mouse is pretty nice but i’m not making it my main mouse and my main mouse is a model o i’m not gonna switch but this mouse is pretty good, my model o it’s so lightweight that i can’t even feel the weight on this mouse. I’m too use to the model o Nice Unboxing/Review Keep it up!

  • I tried a Corsair Harpoon once but I didn't like it very much - every time I pressed the right button, my ring finger got trapped between the button and the body of the mouse. Very unpleasant so I went with a Logitech Mouse instead cause they have a rim around the mouse buttons so that this can't happen. Looking at this design I presume this is still an issue with this model?

  • I've tended to buy small affordable mice like this over the last few years, but not so much because I enjoy using them. My large hands don't fit right and I miss the flexibility of having a couple of extra buttons. There's two reasons why I buy this size class of wireless mice. One is that they fit into my laptop bag easily where as my G900/903 in it's protective case is a monster. But the main reason I buy these is that they're easy to replace. Omron switches were great five or ten years ago, but as the mouse manufacturers have increased performance of their mice they are still using the old switches that were not designed to handle modern circuits. Every single mouse that I've bought in the last 3 years that has the D2FC microswitches (which is used by Logitech, Corsair, Razer, and just about any other high end manufacturer) has failed (double click/click drag bug) within two years. Bottom line: when one of these little mice eventually breaks, I can get a new one off the shelf for under $50 US. Currently, my Razer Atheris is doing okay, but it's nearing the 9 -12 month range where my mice start to fail. I might have to try one of these Katars.

    @maingun07@maingun073 жыл бұрын
    • what do you make of the Atheris' wireless? isn't it Bluetooth only?

      @KitGuruTech@KitGuruTech3 жыл бұрын
    • @@KitGuruTech No, it's very similar in function to the Katar that you reviewed, dongle or Bluetooth. The left/right buttons are not separated but integral with the upper shell. However, the entire shell lifts off to access the batteries (two AA) and the dongle stores in between them. In spite of that (or maybe because of that), the mouse is nice and tight. No rattling or side slop in the buttons. The forward/back buttons are firm and are directly above the pad of my thumb making them easy to reach. My only major complaint about the controls is that the scroll wheel detents are soft and not very precise. It feels like it's slipping in there. It's to easy to scroll too far and sometimes scrolling up one click on the wheel doesn't do anything. Maybe I just need to take it apart and clean it. Battery life is decent (about a month or two) but the weird thing is that the batteries don't drain evenly. I've checked them with a multimeter on replacement and one battery is dead but the other is still over 1.2V. I save those for my pocket flashlight. Also, I don't like the battery indicator. It's recessed in the center of the DPI button and you have to look straight down at it when turning it on to see it. Something else that I'm not real crazy about is the Razer software. For whatever reason, on my machine it uses too much RAM for my taste. I have 8GB of ram. When I boot it up, I'll go into Task Manager and manually kill all of Razer's software. Just doing that causes my RAM usage to drop by 5 to 8 percent. That's a lot when you run multiple programs like I regularly do. I didn't realize that Bluetooth uses less power than wireless. I'll have to try that and only switch to the wireless dongle when playing shooters.

  • I always recommend to at least use a lithium battery. It'll save about 8 grams. You can save another 7g or so by using a lithium AAA with a bit of aluminum foil at the cost of battery life.

    @SirSethery@SirSethery3 жыл бұрын
    • You can also buy AAA to AA battery adapters rather than messing with foil, the weight gain would be minimal.

    • Best bet is to get a USB-A extension cable so that the wireless receiver is sitting at the edge of your mousepad with line-of-sight to your mouse. Logitech includes this with the G703, just in case of the issue you described.
