Career threatening injuries are always tough to watch. Wishing him the best.
Torn MCL in both knees. Holy crap :( I tore my ACL in a pretty similar situation to this (also a goalie) and still feeling some effects 10 years later.
It's not career-threatening I will say it is a bad injury for an example, Teddy Blueger, Teddy Blueger last year got a jaw injury and was out for about 3 months and still was able to play I ain't disagreeing with the fact it is a bad injury I'm just disagreeing with the fact it is career-threatening
@@v1oneshot69 double mcl tear for a goalie is a little different than a broken jaw
should have been charged with embellishment
@@v1oneshot69 a broke jaw at worst could mean a concussion include. Two mcl tears for a goalie is career threatening as they need tremendous leg strength and damaging one could shorten a career. Both happening means he will never have that same leg strength as before
Hopefully players will see this and finally learn not to push people onto their goalie. Idk how these guys haven't figured this out yet
It's frustrating... It's like they think they'll get an interference but instead put their teammate in harm's way
I've seen that so many times through the years, I don't think it's gonna change soon, or maybe with some rule , like in this case, not only you allow a goal, but SHOULD get a penalty for the move of pushing the attacker onto your own goalie
@@saiyansatan exactly, especially when the call is obvious and doesn't get called. This is what happens when you don't call an obvious interference penalty. Seen a few happen in person at minor league games, but it's like that in hockey
I'm a Sens fan and you are 100% correct
They do that hoping the refs will disallow the goal lol
You can see the pain in his eyes. Hope he recovers quickly
How many years before they teach defenders not to shove offensive players into your own goalie?
Most D would like to push a player away from their goalies, but since they can't go through the net, they can't get the right angle. This should have been interference since Hyman was in contact with Forsberg before he got pushed in. Hyman hit Holden and then was all over Forsberg before the Hamonic hit. Very though call.
It's pretty much on us goalies to keep reminding'em. I try to tell my D to push'em to sides or try to pull'em somehow. If you're on butterfly and guy falls on you, you need to straighten your legs fast while falling backward or it's bye bye knees.
@@DBeau73 Kind of a weird justification for something that's solved by just repositioning to a less threating angle or just not doing the potentially injuring thing eh? If the choices are 1. "clear" the guy but possibly take out my goalie because the angle isn't there to do it safely, or 2. literally anything else that helps the general effort but doesn't take out my goalie, pretty sure you should always pick 2.
@Zharghar08 or #3 not doing anything and being out of a job very fast. Not disagreeing but frustrated by so many other misguided comments I read and yours was the most logical. It's very easy to criticize when it's someone else's job. They are playing against very savvy players that live in the dirty areas and it ain't easy getting them away from your goalie. I'm sure they are sick over this.
Hope Forsberg is okay and recovers quick. I hope Hyman doesn't get blamed for this because it wasn't his fault that he got pushed on top of Forsberg.
Nobody will break Hyman.
@@bobhappyman 🤣
Eh but if it was Kadri all hell would break loose lol but just an unfortunate result and hope Forsberg makes a full recovery
That's just the risk that's taken on these plays in the front of the net. Hyman is far from a dirty player. No one (hopefully) will blame him.
No way hyman should get blamed. He totally stopped playing as soon as he saw forsberg was hurt, and was obviously still concerned while his line mates were celebrating the goal.
The fact he tore his MCL in both knees is insane
recovering from one is rough, two at a time sounds brutal
@@melnichol25 Oh no doubt. I hope it doesn't put him back more than just this year.
@@CelticSlayer93 his career is done
@@MyName_JeffYou don't know that Lol your not anton forsberg he can recover in a year.
@@MyName_Jeff Don't talk about what you don't know.
Damn, that's always hard to watch. Feel really bad for the guy. I'm a Leafs fan and have no love for Ottawa, but I really hope he recovers. He deserves to have success.
That a career ender for a goalie. Crazy.
Thankfully he has been on the ice practicing for pre-season! We're glad to see him back.
Just read that the season for him is over.. Ligiment in both knees
maybe even his career
Poor guy, he really resurrected his career. I hope he can play again. It's tough for goalies and knee injuries, especially both.. and sometimes as players you just gotta get your money. I know us fans scoff at some guys getting overpaid and such, but in times like this your career can be over in an instant.
Even MLB catchers. Tough.
I've suffered a similar injury. Sucks but I think he'll be fine.
I'm surprised we don't see more injuries like this. Players push the other team players into their goalie all the time... Hope he's alright.
Props to Hyman he immediately pointed at forsberg letting everyone know
Lool, he points at the puck that went in. If not, the timing is really odd dont you think?
@@broken98100 who points at a puck once they score?
@@DJGuRu0071 2005 Ovie probably haha
@@DJGuRu0071 Well, i havent watched many games, perhaps 1-2000 overall and you would be suprised to how often it happens.. but i guess paying attention to details isnt your thing and exploring other options then your own is off the table.. So that must mean you are correct, like allways and all the time huh? How can others be such fools and actually think that since the timing of the pointing towards the puck and the puck crossing the goal line CANT possibly be an option right?
Never could understand why dmen crosscheck guys into their own goalie!!
2 torn MCLs. What are the odds of that happening? Gosh the poor guys career is most likely in jeopardy.
The Canucks' Demko tore a hamstring in an early-December home game vs the Panthers and has yet to see game action since, with the Spencer Martin-Collin Delia show in net for over 2 months now. Forsberg may be out for no shorter a time span than Demko so far has been, and that will mean, should that occur, the 1st goalie likely will mean that barring an unlikely Sens' 2023 2nd-round playoff appearance, not seeing game action at least until September.
Ligaments don't heal like muscles. He will be out for 9 months probably
@@spencerlanman4011 I dunno whether muscles or ligaments heal more quickly but if Demko's injury stint is a guide, it appears likely that seeing playoff action, should the Sens get there, is no guarantee for Forsberg. Last season Petr Mrazek, in a Leafs' game against the Bruins, injured his groin, sidelining him for over a month although by the time that injury of his had fully healed, the Leafs' coaching staff and front office had decided to go with 2 non-Mrazek goalies for a 1st-round playoff series then underway, with Jack Campbell used for all but 30 minutes or so over 7 games.
@@wainber1 I don't know what you're talking about but I'm going to say about 16 months before he can start skating again. Also, note that he is 30 years old. Yes, I am a doctor so I know way more about this than most people.
@@JaneNayes I have so far compared the injury situations of Mrázek, Demko, and Forsberg, in order of least to most recent. Mrázek’s groin injury, sustained in March 2022, healed in just over a month although by then Sheldon Keefe (head coach), in consultation with the Leafs’ front office, had decided to go with Campbell and Erik Kallgren for whatever had remained of that team’s season. Demko last December pulled a hamstring and has yet to see action in an actual game, whether stopping pucks or just sitting on the bench for his current team, since. Although the Canucks’ goalie didn’t need to be stretchered off the ice after that hamstring injury, that Forsberg had needed to be stretchered off was a clear sign that at best the Sens’ goalie likely wouldn’t see action in an actual game until perhaps May, and only then if his injury were to have by then, and the Sens were to have won their first-round playoff series. For however long Forsberg is out, DJ Smith shouldn’t expect Forsberg to be available to be used in a game at any point this winter, the NHL Sens’ front office having called up Kevin Mandolese from Belleville to indefinitely replace Forsberg.
Poor Forsberg I get sick to my stomach, just looking at it,his knee must hurt soo bad. Hope he gets the best treatment & come back soon.
He’ll be back! Just devastating to watch & see how painful this must have felt. It’ll take some time- But I have faith that he will recover from this & play in the NHL again.
After seeeing that, Im hoping he can still stand.
I'll never understand D-men pushing opponents into their own goalie.
Same man.
This is because they made it cant have a dmen clear the blue paint they do whatever they can in a pinch trying to stop a goal. Crazy anyone can screw around so much in the blue paint. Bring back Dmen that players are scared of not shooters .
that's horrible.. i wish him a speedy recovery
Feel so bad for Hyman too, he knew something was wrong right away. Hope Forsberg recovers quickly.
23 on Ottawa has to know better...incredibly foolish to push players around in your goalie's crease like that, and I'm surprised this result doesn't happen more often
Remember when Zaitsev was getting booed on home ice? Hamonic needs that to sink in to him.
Hyman knew exactly what he was doing
@@scottirvine8835 Do you have rocks in your head?
I winced so hard watching this. I hyperextended and dislocated both knees in a similar situation -- 2 dudes collided and landed on my right leg -- but my left skate was up against the post and the impact just crunched me in a direction where my skates were dug in and my legs had nowhere to go but the wrong direction. Wishing him the best -- that looked like it hurt like hell and I hope he's ok.
I've had it happen in football, hyperextended my knee when someone put their foot into my knee and bent it back. And also skiing as well after hearing a pop after falling. I hope hes okay! Knee injuries suck!
@@MTDfilms Ow -- god damn! Ya that POP is ungodly sickening. Absolutely -- knee injuries SUCK! Mine have never been the same. I can't really be a goaltender and tend the goal any more cause I can't push off from my left-to-right or seal the left post -- there's just no stabilization or strength in the joint in my left leg. It sucks -- hope you're still mobile!
The Flames play Ottawa tomorrow. From a flames fan, get well soon Forsberg. That looked like agony. Same to Jake Sanderson.
Sandy is out for only two weeks, but with our garbage medical staff, it could be a month. Forsberg is who I'm more worried about. This is career-threatening for him.
Fuck man that’s rough hope that doesn’t end his career, hope he gets to play again
Saw this when I went to lunch with my mom and grandma. And assumed this was a replay since it was a lunch time game.
Can't imagine the pain. I strained a knee, it was quite minor because I was feeling better after a couple days. But there was a lot of pain for the first day.
Hope he recovers well 😢
Professional hockey is not for the weak at heart. These world class athletes take a beating every game.
Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery.
Can you do the Kostin injury, havent seen any clip of what happened
Way to go, Hamonic. Stupid play.
So Chabot mew what he was doing couple months ago.
@@kolasillers7776 🤡🤡🤡
Forsberg being stretchered off, which early last December the Canucks' Demko in a home game vs the Panthers, made it appear the former would be out for no shorter a period of time than the latter. Demko hasn't played a game since that hamstring injury.
So sad to see. This might end his career. Life isn't fair.
Good career. But that’s not the way you want to have it end
He’s done for the season but I think he will be back.
@@politicalbandwagon4989 What I would do if he comes back is have Talbot (if he resigns) and Sogaard as the tandem on opening night. Let Forsberg play in the AHL for a week or two as LTI conditioning.
If you look closely you can see the offensive player I believe Hyman pushed Forsberg with a little crosscheck just before he was pushed by the defender. And then after Hymen gets up he pushes him a little again. Idk NHL rules at all I’m just dissecting the play as I see it. (Look at the Sky Cam Angle to see what I’m talking about)
Man forsberg was a decent goalie maybe not a #1 but a damn good goalie for a backup hope he recovers and comes back
I slightly sprained my mcl in my left knee and it took 13 weeks until I could play goal again
it's one thing to have a single MCL injury but both on BOTH legs?!?!?! sheesh, i hope Forsberg is able to recover, did not look pretty but wishing him the best
I was at this game. It was so scary to watch his leg bend backwards like that, my dad and I immediately knew it was bad
I can't believe they allowed that goal. Even the announcer "It's not that bump it's this push right here." recognized that Hyman pushed him, then got pushed into him by the defenseman.
Damn prayers up everyone
smooth move x-lax. Pushing the guy right on him
can you upload the filip forsberg injury? #request
#request habs vs oilers scrums and Xhekaj fight
He may come back but will never be the same. Price was the best in the world until Kreider destroyed his knee and Price was never the same, never got to that level of play again and that knee issue cut his career short.
(3:27 - 3:45) Great sportsmanship. ❤️
I hurt for him. 😢
I give credit to Nugent Hopkins. You can clearly see and hear him say, "Is he okay?" Hope Forsberg will be okay
Здоровья Форсбергу и скорейшего возвращения.
It's crazy because I was going to go but my own game got in the way
I was happy when Ryan Nugent-Hopkins got a power play goal to get 6-3 against Ottawa Senators, Until how the goalie of Senators team “Anton Forsberg” got injured beside the net with 5 minutes in a half left of 3rd period, but I feel bad for forsberg!
Hope he feels fast, must be a rough time to be a sens fan with both talbot and now forsberg out for a long time now
Yea the D men cross check is stupid in that situation, oiler player skating into the blue standing on top of the goalie is also stupid. 9 times out of 10 that x check happens and nothing this time the oiler lost an edge and fell on the goalie. both were stupid and its unfortunate that someone got hurt, and kudos to Hyman for showing concern even before the goal is scored.
and this is why you dont drive an apposing player in the back towards your own goalie..
what happened ? what kind of injury ?
MCL tear in both knees.
It’s still mind boggling how defenders insist on shoving people into their own goalie.
Hope he’s okay
Holy s&$@. What are the odds of tearing both MCL’s ! Damn shame. Didn’t help that Hamonic pushed the guy on top of him !
That is what I just said, he pushed Zach Hyman into him, resulting in that goal which was counted as an good goal, that was no goalie interference.
Hamonic just ended his own goalies career…
needs to be publicly addressed...its so silly how they do everything to protect their tendy yet push guys on top of them and injure them...id hate my teammates
Not one but TWO torn MCL’s. That is just brutal.
It's always best for goalies to fall forward instead of backwards. You can save yourself from injuries this way.
Get well
Double MCL Tear. Fucking Brutal.
All these dumbass D Men who push players into their own goalies... I'm surprised this is the first major injury caused by that situation. Get well soon, Forsberg.
Dang.
How many times does this have to happen before d-men stop pushing the other team into their own goalies??? I was in pee wees in the 80s when I was coached to not push players into your own goalie, they are in such a vulnerable position when play is in their lap like that.
Oh damn I KNOW THAT HURTS. I’ve torn 1 …. But both ehhh 😮
Not saying this in a mean way, but never understood why D men above opposing players onto their goalie. Goalies are so vulnerable after a save, quick recovery to him.
How much you bet Hamonic is done in Ottawa?
Never understood the logic behind a defensemen pushing a guy into their own goalie. Better to just let the goal in then injure your teammate.
Hyman is in the blue paint before the push.
Ottawa Challenged for Goalie Interference, there was none.
Never understood why you'd want hit/push a player onto your own goalie... hope he's ok.
Man ottawa has a goalie curse
lot more than just a goalie curse, young forwards with bum shoulders too
wishing forsy a full recovery! i hope his career isn't cut short because of this. what a braindead play by travis hamonic...
God damn I can’t even imagine his pain went it happened
hops Forsberg is okay
Hopefully he is ok
I hope he is okay ok
he's not

Request can we get the "HOLY FUCK" hot mic I just heard of the Sens vs Flames game about 12:35 of the 1st period
Fellow team players - before he’s stretchered off - so cool to see. Let’s face it. Hockey is fast and dangerous.
❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏
That is the true definition of a dirt goal " after a further decision the goal has been waivered off No goal hahaha 🤣🤣🤣
Someone who has torn his mcl, pcl and acl, that’s gonna hurt for a while
My ACL still clicks after 30 years
Ottawa's Hamonic pushed Hyman on top of his own goaltender.
OUCH!!!
It's always nice when a 200 lbs guy just goes limp on you when you are in a vulnerable position. Fucking intentional.
This seems like an unpopular opinion, but I think Hyman fell a little too easily. I don't think he intended to hurt Forsberg, but he did.
I aint convinced Hyman did not deliberately sit on the goalie, yes it is true Hamonic hit him but it wasn't a hard hit and Hyman could have tried to sell it as a hard hit as a way to get away with an interference
I’ve torn my ACL by playing basketball in a church after attending something inside a church Anton, it was the worst pain I’ve ever endured, I was probably 15 at that time, final year of high school 2012, I’ve torn it again, pain, pain, pain, man, injuries are the worst things ever, get well soon Anton.
Bro what lol
@@ihatesnowflakes2537 I've torn my ACL twice in my life, and I'm wishing Anton the best of his recoveries.
Poor guy legit got bent backwards and messed up his legs and dude didn’t even apologize
Think we can convince Hammy to come out of retirement? Hopefully Talbot can get back sooner rather than later.
I hate the sens but poor dude is severely hurt
I saw it was mcl tears in both knees
They need to trade for Andy and Andy can retire as as Sen. Perfect storm.
why was hyman in there with a such a lead?
This is why Defenseman pushing players into there own goalie pisses me off to no end. Hamonic is to blame for this injury what a horrible play wish Forsberg a speedy recovery but damn double MCL tear and totally unnecessary
