Razer Basilisk Ultimate - Don't Waste Your Money, The Ugly Truth
Razer Basilisk Ultimate - Don't Waste Your Money, The Ugly Truth
Today we looked at the Razer Basilisk Ultimate and explained why this is a bad choice when it comes to high end wireless mice because Razer has over time been doing a poorer job of keeping high quality standards all around. If they're going to be charging over $100+ they should at least be putting products out that don't begin to fall apart on you after only a few weeks.

I bought one last December 18 for $139 and about just over 2 weeks mouse button number 5 stopped working so i returned it and have it replaced with a new one. It worked till just last week (a month and a half) the moofer thing stopped working again. Now I cannot return it to amazon since amazon only takes returns for less than a month. Have to contact razer support. Fk razer
People read this and still have the audacity to say “just because yours doesn’t work and mine does it’s fine.” They’re idiots and half the people disliking the video will most likely run into and issue with their mouse and I think that’s perfect 👌. I’d highly suggest the G305, I’ve been using it since and it’s been great!
Update: i called amazon just now and they allowed me an exception return for my case since i have ordered it twice and broke twice so they’re gonna refund me. Amazon is awesome sauce 😃
Amazon will always refund if you push hard enough! Glad to head you’re getting your money back, plus that G305 is only 50$ so you know, saving tons!
@@KryptonicHD thanks bro I’m gonna look for reviews on that mouse G305. Don’t listen to people who don’t even own this mouse. Basilisk is a great mouse but it has a lot of issues.
THAT! That is the point I was trying to make, NO ONE wants to spend $100+ only to be disappointed by their mouse. Basilisk feels better than any mouse I’ve used, but just because it’s good it doesn’t mean I shouldn’t talk about the small stuff. Apparently quality control is a BIG issue since the comments are PACKED with different stories! Pro tip for research always type in “Reddit” afterwards and see what horror stories people have OR don’t have :)
Tbh. I had g502 for about a year, numerous problems, really low quality then my friend recommended me Razer so I bought Razer Basilisk Ultimate and to this day, I had 0 problems. It feels super premium and none of my friends that also has this mouse ever had any issues with it, so just because you had some quality issues doesn't mean that razer is bad.
I don't disagree Razer has some quality stuff, but they do have a quality control issue where their mices just break down over a 3-6 month period, completely screwing the consumer. If it works for you, that's great! But read the comments here, it doesn't work for everyone and you can't overlook that just because it works for you.
same i bought one 2 months ago and have loved it. I also upgraded from a g502 but ive had 0 problems with mine.

when i chose this mouse. i saw a g502 in the store. an assistant opened a g502 box so i can choose a mouse to buy, and it was already broken.
You are just one of *few* people who has had issues with this mouse. It has really good reviews, really good build quality and no issues at all. I've never had any with mine. Easily one of the best out there, as is with many of Razers products.
idk why this guy hates razer lmao
@@angelovergara7318 people just hate when they see the competition being more innovative and more productive at making top grade products. my whole setup is decked out in Razer and I see no reason why I should use any other brand. These aren’t exactly issues not to buy. You are just nitpicking at YOUR specific mouse.
It would be if it was just one time thing. Razer just makes low quality stuff compared to something like the model O
@@KryptonicHD RAZER is a great company and their mouses are great
Yeah. As i was watching this vid a couple months ago he kept saying his buttons are really loose but like, he is literally pulling and shaking his mouse. Keys are always gonna have a little wable but your just making it worse kryptoko. This whole vid was just a rant abt his “broken” mouse
@@KryptonicHD The model O line-up has a HUGE RMA rate... lmao
@@KryptonicHD model o has a ton of its own qc issues as well though.. furthermore it seems like you're palm grip as you bought the bas ult, so why would you get a model o? its a different grip style? coming from someone who's used both bas ult has far better qc than the shit o
I can't seem to left click and drag with my hyperspeed, it doesn't hold the click for long. I don't yet know if this is a mouse issue or a cheap mouse pad I'm using. Anyways, do you know about this issue? And, do you know where I can read more about this issue?
While I haven't had this mouse specifically I have a couple of Pro Click (one for about a year, one for a short while), but I had trouble with Logitech G mice in the past (not with regular Logitech though). I think the biggest question is: why do all gaming mice seem to have QA issues?
I personally haven’t owned the mouse, but definitely bashing it because of the plug and play/battery life is a bit biased not owning the dock. I think the dock alone would make it a lot more enjoyable and possibly fix your issue about charging.
I'm used to charging my mouses, so it's never been a bad experience, BUT razer makes it annoying with their proprietary cable so that it fits just right. Makes it a problem down the line.
Interesting, which mouse would you recommend for 3D app and gaming (shooter, not the twitch kind of shooter)? God bless
Between Razer viper, Razer basilisk V2 and model O which one would you recommend? Ps: I play all types of games so sometimes more buttons are helpful
I own the basilisk v2 and its great. But the Viper is a little different and its about personal preference.
I happen to have those both ur trying to buy and (even tho this is a bit old) i can say that the model O is alot more gaming turned than the basilisk, i have both mouses on my desktop, normally i allways use the basilisk to do some casual gaming like gta, gmod and story based games in general, and when i want to play any fps title i whip out the model O. They both work great in their unique ways, i ve never regretted buying any of those mouses and i dont even know how so many people got a defective basilisk, jesus christ.
yo did you like throw it across the room. I just have problem with the clutch but your it like finna fall apart.
No, I've taken good care of it and it had only been about 2 months of owning it.
So, razer basilisk ultimate or rog gladius III wireless?

I was trying to open the mouse bc it kept flashing red even though I charged it and when I opened it a part broke off
I don't understand what the alternative is: mechanical switches that double click after a while?
Does warranty cover these kind of issues that you mentioned?
50/50 depending on the severity!
The Razer Basilisk Ultimate seems to work fine for me and I've never had many problems with it, and the build quality on mine seems fine, or at least better than yours is. The only problem I've had with it is that the right click mouse piece does seem to wobble on my Basilisk too, though it does not seem as bad as yours is, I only hear the rattle sound when I shake it really hard, but that's not gonna happen in any game that I play where I have to shake the mouse real hard.
The crazy thing is, I take the best care of all my stuff because I'm afraid of breaking it by dropping it, or the world ending or something. And so far all my equipment that has stopped working has been a "defect" or something multiple people are having issues with (double clicking, disconnecting, battery) FML! So they're all cosmetically great, until you use them!
@@KryptonicHD bro im gonna be honest with you no hard feelings, ill believe you with ur reasoning, but u also had a vid about the basilisk x hyperspeed now this, you had issues both. Did glorious paid you? Lol HAHA the built of this mouse is for those who likes ergonomic built so why buy if you dont like ergonomic mouse, ofcourse ull be disappointed coz youre used in symmetrical mice. And plus i never saw an ergonomic mouse that has a fix / stiff left and right main buttons. When u say ergonomic mouse, it is built soft relaxing and not stiff. And when we use mouse we dont observe too much things like u do thats too much tbh im a hardcore gamer and streamer tho tbh i quite an observant in mice too also but urs are too much lol it was built with benefits and reasons, You're just destroying the basilisk design and idea, you can try gtechs ergonomics it has the same. This is disappointment. I'm a crazy person about what mouse I use and this was looking like the closest. I'm looking for a wireless ergo mouse that is similar to the Corsair Nightsward RGB but with much better thumb buttons (less squishy and more responsive) and ptfe feet. Any recommendations?
It's a difficult question because I've been looking around and it's very difficult to get a precise answer since all mice are so different. Right now I'm using the G305 and it's been working out great because it's a battery powered mouse meaning I don't have to constantly charge it and it's super lightweight coming in at around 100g. (Not that light weight, but also no double clicking)
My basilisk ultimate is awesome no issues what so ever had it for almost a year play mainly things like r6 siege and destiny 2 and its awesome I would highly recommend the mouse and you don't need to charge it every day it has like a 70 hour battery just plug it im when you are done very simple things that are trying to be picked at the pros to this greatly outway the cons
Oh and the ultimate comes with a dock with nice rgb so its not like really plugging it in before anyone makes a decision I would look at more reviews because this one is definitely flawed and biased sorry chief
First off, just because you have a good mouse it doesn't mean anything when so many other people have already said they've had issues. Second off, the battery life is good I'll give it that, but not great at all. The fact you plug up so often makes it not feel like a true disconnected experience. Lastly, the dock is an extra 30$ if you don't buy it in the bundle for 140$. The only comment flawed here is clearly yours since you didn't even pay attention to the video. Thanks.
@@KryptonicHD Sigh..."third off" since you have a bad mouse, it doesn't mean anything either, I've seen other reviewers shake the mouse just like you did, zero noise, yep you are biased since you won't bother replacing an obviously defective mouse. tHaNkS
@@fyourhandlegoogle if you took the time to investigate things properly you’d see, I did a review on the HyperSpeed and 2 different ones had the rattle. Stop fan boying for absolutely no reason. im not sure if you guys just got bad ones from factory or something but i bought one 2 months ago and have loved it. I have the Viper Ultimate. have been using for over an year now, so issue whatsoever. The optical switch may feel a bit stiff but no double click so far so good. Only problem is battery is too small and only last less than 3 days of use.
Currently testing both Razer - DeathAdder v2 Pro - AND - Basilisk Ultimate for a couple of weeks and i'm pretty sure that you simply just got a bad one... You should have returned it as soon as you realized that something was not right with the right clicker and the palm plate... seriously i'm having a really hard time deciding which one i'm gonna keep since both mouses are frkn awesome and for me maybe having bigger hands (i'm 6ft tall) the DAv2Pro is just more comfy, feels larger in hand and is lighter VS the basiUltimate having more button option (dpi clutch button and wheel rolling adjustement) and having a thumb rest but feels thinner in hand... it would be a no brainer if i could get an hybrid of the 2 but... RAZER gimme a DeathAdder with basiUltimate thumb rest, dpi clutch and wheel adjustement... PLZZZZ loll ... i'm might end up keeping the Basilisk and adding some layers of grip tape on the right side to make it larger... i'll see... anyways just my 2 cents about it and gratz on the great vid man !! peace !!
After watching this video i'm still buying this mouse. Thanks for the video. Decent points you gave also. I should get a warranty with it though

I know how to stop the mouse from rattling when you shake it. Pro tip: don’t shake it 😁
These aren't reasons to not buy a mouse. These sound like your too tough on your mouse and its taking its toll
Just read the comment section. Razer has issues with quality control that's all it is. Bad on their end since it's happening so often.
I got this mouse Apr 2020, today Sep 2021 I had my first issue, where the mouse 4 and 5 buttons would activate each other. Luckily I fixed this by taking the mouse apart to dust, nothing too major just unscrewed the casing unplugged 3 ribbons to remove that board part, and took out the mouse 5 button (really just to clean) you can't remove the mouse 4 as there a glued down part stopping the removal, either just unplugging the ribbon fixed it or there was dust somewhere. When you shake it, there is definitely a rattle, which is mainly caused by the left mouse button panel being a separate part rather than a single piece like on most mice, it's not a big deal at all, I didn't even notice it till watching this and comparing with other mice, but then again the right button panel is silent and doesn't move/ rattle so it definitely could have been prevented Definitely a mouse I would recommend. I will get a second one in the future just for the fact that I hate using it while charging.
I have the Orochi V2 and it fixed everything this mouse did wrong and it's basically the G305 but slightly different. So in my book win win!
Man this mouse has the feautures i needed like the thumb rest mainly, side buttons, tilted scroll wheel, and the paddle, but looking at the build quality, makes me think that i should just stay with my mouse rn
Just bought one yes, stay away I've seen better quality £10 mice
Hmmm YALL know that it makes that wobble noise brand new right?
Yeah it's not suppose too.
@@KryptonicHD I disassembled mine. I can tell you the build inside is serious. The wobbling clics is nothing, just go watch disassemble videos. But trust me as long as your mouse stays on your desk, you won't ever break the clic buttons, they are going through the top part of the core along five centimeters, the part that goes inside is 1cm squarrish bar like, carried upon the switches by a tiny little string locked in its slot. Loose doesn't always mean fragile, but it's true that they could've done it better. By the way you were saying that the wobble was getting worse, I can say this is not possible because the whole piece goes into the core horizontally under your finger and vertically under your hand, you'd hurt your finger and break the clicking part before you could get it looser. Also, after a lot of fps games, the "pushers" that pushes the switches buttons are still fine and flat, it's known for logitech mouses to have these parts just memorizing the switches button form, then the clicks button will feel dead and very hard to clic. It won't happen with the razer. The mouse is a very good product, not perfect (wheel optical sensor not so accurate on mine , and the wheel system by itself is ultra basic and didn't deserve the marketing they put around it) and the price is way too high, but if you have a deal for 90€ like sometimes just go for it.
You should claim for a replacement if it's still warranted. I bought a similar one at 2nd hand price and the forrmer owner had gamed really hardcore with this mouse since the left rubber has a huge scratch. It also has all of the wable problems you mentioned and exactly similar to yours after 1 year of used but when I play fps game with it, this mouse is really good, much better than my old Death adder. I didn't even notice the wable things before watching your video and every time I palm my mouse for a Valorant match, it is just amazing to use and go to war. Although it would be better with a more solid build but as far as the features in this mouse is ok, I think it's still a great product to use and the wable thing is just very common that it can't downgrade this product. Maybe you should put on a headset then you won't be irritated with the wable sound
RIGHTTTT im like "Dude just use a headset, will enhance your experience and muffle the wobble!" And the thing about the plastic, im sorry but this has to be staged af. There is no way that this can be so sharp that it SCRATCHES him.
what about g502 lightspeed ?
Good mouse, but I believe it double clicks, I could be wrong, checking reddit always helps!
G Hub also has lots of issues (infinite loads, removing profiles after patching...).
g502 hero durable...well sometimes depend on batch
it's common for mice to have problems. my last 2 mice had problems. in 1 (different brand) the buttons snapped, and in the 2nd (different brand) the scroll was ruined
I have the Hyperspeed X, and had similar issues to you, so was thinking about getting the Ultimate, but you have convinced me not to. What mouse are you using now?
For me the G 502 X is hands down the perfect mouse. Has a perfect ergonomic shape for my hand and it just feels qualitative, no defects. My previous mouse was a wired G 502 Proteus which I've abused and it still works with no issues, I just wanted a wireless one. Battery lasts for about 6 days on my usage and I have a great experience so far.
Just bought it brand new. The left pad feels heavy ash to press and the right is just fine the spin wheel is doing weird shit
Well, i already commented on your hyperspeed video, but here are my thoughts. I used to be a g502 lightspeed user, and that mouse feels premium from head to toe. Great mice. For me personally tho, bcz my hand is really big, i had 2 issues. First, i pressed the sniper button when i grabbed the mouse. Second, the main click buttons were too thin for my fingers. The best thing about this mouse is the perfect way the weight is distributed, the lightspeed connection and the quality in general is great. Because of those 2 issues, when i saw the basilisk ultimate, i sold my g502 lightspeed and got a razer some time later. And lemme tell you, material-wise it's way worse. The switches on this mouse, even tho they are technically great, feel much worse. In specially my case, left click is ok, a 7 maybe, but right click is a 4/5, too mushy and takes a long time to get back up. When mine arrived, the wireless connection was far from perfect. It felt kinda jiggly. I could tell it wasn't a wired mouse (and i never could tell with the Logitech) luckily this was easily fixed by a firmware update to both the dongle and the mouse. Finally, and the worst thing by far, the weight on this mouse is distributed like shit. Even when the g502 lightspeed is heavier, it feels lighter because it's just that even across the whole body of the mouse. On the other hand, the basilisk ultimate has a really really noticeable heavy point towards the front, wich makes it really uncomfortable move around and makes it feel heavier. Also i could point out that even tho they seem similar, the g502 lightspeed has a thinner body that at first hlance it would be worse for my 19*9.5 hands, but it's better. In that mouse, my fingers can stay suspended even after the button end, because the shape catches your hand so much better. In conclusion, not nearly as good as they tell you. In my case, i could've keeped it if the weight issue wasn't so noticeable. And dude, after using a high end logitech product, it's so obvius when something is good quality... So for anyone wondering wich one to buy, i would always go g502 lightspeed, unless you have giant hands, in wich case the deathaddee v2 pro may be a better choice than this.
I agree 100%, Logitech always feels super premium and I totally get the whole “once you use something high quality” then you use the Razer and you can see the flaws.
2 words. Double click
I've had this mouse for 2 years now and not 1 issue, love everything about it
Ive used this mouse for like 4 months now and the only issue ive had was that my brother spilled juice and made my dpi buttons sticky, literally no other issues besides that

Either yall are like the most unlucky people in the world, or you just abuse your mouse when you game. Either way, the mouse has a warranty, just return it and get a replacement for it, or get your money back, simple. I've bought the Razer Black Widow Elite a few years back, and it had a problem with the LEDs. Returned it and got a new black widow elite as a replacement and had no issues what so ever. Also currently own the Basilisk (v1), Huntsman Elite, Viper Ultimate (mercury one), Blackwidow Lite, and all are still working perfectly fine after at least a full year of use and more.

i fkn LOVE mine, best $13 i ever spent on a new-open-box mouse. And i love the chroma RGB settings, scroll wheel is set to be audio reactive and click-reactive, logo is breathing random colors, and the side lighting is a constant rainbow wave(120% pulse width, 145*) and I've found myself spending not just a lot of time playing with it but also just watching it when I'm thinking.
my old g700 died a miserable death when the laser slowly but surely got worse and worse until it was just unusable, even one of the top buttons was messed up, so I used an old bluetooth microsoft sculpt touch(touch scroll wheel) for a while but it was a horrid gaming mouse. Best ebay surprise ever.

Not at all. All these things were day 1 things that got worse. I was an idiot for thinking "it's a razer mouse, no way it has issues like this"

I got a normal v2 for only 30$ on the gamestop site when it was on sale
so I've had mine since September and Im not gonna be the stereotypical toxic commenter and say that this review is lacking in any way hell I would say depending on how you look at it its informal because I think it all boils down to what you want in a mouse, but the whole wobbly right and left clicks do not effect the performance of the mouse and honestly every raser mouse that Ive come across has this, Its not a flaw, And with the basilisk being my 4th mouse (2 being raser mice) I can say that it actually was the best out of all 4 and Im satisfied with it to this day because it fits what I want in a mouse so I wouldn't say its terrible and hell I wouldn't say any real flaws have come up over the 5 month period that I've owned it, sure it is a bit pricey but its in no way garbage. also If your having any problems with the buttons just mess with the software, my scroll wheel stopped working and I fixed it
You said it yourself the mouse has the wobble problem yet you chose to look the other way. If the mouse is 100$ + it shouldn’t have any problems mainly if it’s brand new. You definitely came in more neutral then others but there is still some favoritism in there because you’ve bought 4 mice from them so far! Try a high end Logitech/Final Mouse/ANYTHING and compare that to the Razers “Premium” mice and tell me what you think. In my video I came at this very strong because I’ve used 30$ mice that work better and longer than this mouse.
brand new mouse from Razor and keyboard the Black widow combo is crap and nothing but interruptions. From their startup login to the no free wheel spin and a no charging mouse battery after 2 months. And u cant even hardwire mouse to computer bc of the stupid mouse mount charge base. Either the battery that was charged maybe twice, may be dead. Or other issue on microboard.
I have a Razer Ultimate Basilisk for 3 years and i never had problems with him . Great mouse !
Disagree vs. Batteries... 5 minute charge to not send stuff to landfill lol. Totally understand what you mean though and all these mice should have a dock included or wireless power mousemat.
The best alternative I see is what Logitech does with their power play mats for wireless charging. But they cost more than the mice themselves.....
@@KryptonicHD dude, the battery life on the mouse is up to 100 hrs. How hard is it to charge it once a week or so when you go to bed.......
3 years on mine is perfectly fine
Model O is also broken sometime i get disconnect everyday
I've heard that there were some issues with it.
Lol 8 months daily use and its been perfect. But then again I take care of my stuff.
Cool, I take care of my things too, doesn't mean this product doesn't suck.
my mous will scroll up instead down sometimes. or if i drop the mouse from 0,3-0,5 cm it will scroll for no reason. I called amazon after about 1 and a half year and i got the whole money back. Thanks Amzon. But i will not buy this mouse again
Ive had it for 2 Years, both thumb buttons are a bit stuck but ( dropped drinks ) other than that it was a very nice mouse tbh, I want to dissesamble it, clean it and just keep using it. I bought it for 50€ and was very glad getting it, never had any problems with any of my Razer equip except the mic problems on old Kraken headsets, other than that one problem, never had any problems whatsoever, ( gotta admit I always bought them in sale for at least half the original price so its no wonder im happy with it ) Still outstanding products, mice were way better than the G902 I bought, it had felt like having a worse battery, but Build quality was better tbh. Only thing bad was its shape, because it was made for both hands and not only the right one. Weird mentioning wobble on mouse buttons never even noticed it, also thats the only thing you mentioned which mine also had.
I find it better for games like fortnite because it can swap sensitivity mid game right behind the scroll wheel there is a button (I use the second option for the button)
Bro literally I said the same about the wobbly click at first I thought it wasant a big deal untill I was really playing a game 🙅🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
before i watched this video i had doubt to buy this mouse. but after i watch this video, pretty sure i will buy Razer Basilisk Ultimate asap. thank you and keep up the good work
Yessirrr
dude.. 7 minutes to say the RtClick button wobbles, palm base wobbles, and there is a tiny sharp edge on the right mouse button. No mention of the battery dying after 8 months, or it not connecting to the computer, or constantly needing to reset the settings so the mouse works, or the long pause when turning on the computer, before the mouse software loads, and the mouse starts to work.
Let's return to this mouse in 5 years. If it lasts that long. Manufacturers just don't care about longevity. They produce mice with optical switches and brag about durability but then they put in a mechanical wheel encoder, which does not last 1/10 of the durability of the optical switch. That's so silly, what's the point of using some extra durable parts when other parts are weak?
No idea what your talking about had this for over a year, NO problems, I mean nothing, works great
That's good for you, but other people have issues with this mouse, quality control on their end.
@@KryptonicHD bro there are so many pieces out there, more than majority of them work fine so please, giving ur opinion is ok but U made this as a REVIEW which are supposed to be GENERAL REVIEWS. If you want to tell us about your experience with your mouse and hate Razer in it then make a video which isnt a review
Doesn't mean if someone has issues its bad
To be fair I love the basilisk it has great build quality and that rattle it is the components in the mouse shaking because your shaking it so hard stop being so pickie and don’t try to break to mouse like you were.
Sadly brands like Razer and Logitech spend a ton on marketing and sponsoring , which is why Glorious can sell the MODEL 0 Wireless only at $80 since they hardly do any marketing at all , because they rely on the hype they have created with their past releases
Yeah, these big name companies are releasing poor quality mouse after mouse. If you check Reddit for reviews you’ll truly how bad something is and so far a lot of people hate the newer products from most companies. The model O is great from what I’ve heard!
Iirc the Glorious mice are ambi, aye? Ergonomic issues'll kill you if you're spending dozens of hours a week at a desk. edit: Actually, the D series is keyed for right hand ergonomics, how does the force needed to press the different buttons compare w/ the average mouse? Mine's been double-clicking after 5 years of service, and between Razer's 0-durability and Logitech's incompetent software I haven't been able to find a replacement yet.
just to let you know its not just right click its the scroll wheel to
yes! Loving accessory reviews! I use the model o and I'm loving it tbh.
I have never been so jealous 🥺 The model O looks insane 🙌
@@KryptonicHD why don't you pick one up ?
I’ve been looking around at my options and the Pwnage Ultra Wireless is also very good! I’m looking around and might try some cheaper alternatives before going all out on a mouse again!
@@KryptonicHD Depending on where you buy there are alot of Clones of the Pwnage mouse , which go for around $50 ,here in SEA it is made by and Indonesian Company and the mouse is called the "Rexus Daxa Air Wireless" exact same mouse , exact same sensor , just different brand
@@778paolo Daing! That's amazing !
Shit. I bought a Basilisk Ultimate on Prime day ($70), hope it holds up. Its been perfect so far (but its only been a week), battery is pretty damn good, lasting days on end for me with 40% rgb and recharging very quickly. But of course that depends on your use case, I use my desktop computer infrequently, maybe an hour or max 2 hours a day max, and so the mouse goes to sleep mode when not using it to conserve battery (and wakes up in 1 or 2 seconds when you need it). Ergonomics are amazing for my large hands, it feels just right. Only fault I have with it is that one of the smaller LED modules is cracked down the middle (it was like that out of the box!) but it still works and its honestly only noticeable if you take the mouse right up to your face and glare at it.
@yt 1234 probably same (maybe a bit more), but I can't tell for sure bc I never use it more than 2-3 hours (max) in one go, and I sometimes plug it in the charge afterwards. Overall battery is pretty good for my uses, the mouse has been great overall and is holding up. My only complaint after extended use is the paint finish is really an oil magnet, if you have oily skin like me, so it gets that oil shine a lot, you can clean it but it'll come back quick, so I just accept it.
I bought the razor wireless mouse at like 100$ worst buy. Everyone said it was the best and it was not.
That’s what got me too. Too many people saying “it’s good, but...” and they never talk about the small stuff like this!
err why would you have to charge every day, it has a battery life of around 100hrs......and really? you would prefer to have to buy AA batteries constantly that end up in land fill rather than plugging a cord into it once a week. Or could have not cheaped out spent the extra $20 and got the bundle with the dock included. Pretty shitty to do a review telling people that the mouse is trash and not to buy the mouse because you got a dud unit. I got a defective G502 Lightspeed. Does that mean all or the majority of them are crap and you should avoid buying? Razer have a 2 year warranty, get it replaced. pretty simple.
They have a long warranty because they know their products suck. Also I bought the mouse for 100$ on sale without the dock, the dock being $40 more. So unless you're willing to buy it for me, I will continue to be "Cheap". Clearly you didn't see the whole video because I've talked about other experiences with Razer's Newest mice and they all result having some sort of quality control issue. You having a defective G502 means nothing because this is the Basilisk and it wasn't "defective" it started to wear itself out within a month of use. And yes people should avoid Razer because if you did any research you'd see how much people despise their mice for such quality control. Thanks for view!
@@KryptonicHD Logitech, and most other high end mouse manufacturers offer the same waranty LOL. Yes I understand that there have been a lot of people who have had quality issues with this mouse, and sure Id agree they could and should step up their quality control, but the % of people who have had issues with this mouse would be statistically insignificant to the total ammount produced and sold. All products and all manufacturers have failure rates and known possible defects. Over the years I've had DOA motherboards, RAM and even a cpu or two. Doesnt make me state that all those manufacturers products are trash. I will agree that the mouse is quite overpriced for what you get, here in AUS the mouse with doc is the equivalent of $233USD.
HELLO i got one 3 mongths ago in Serbia and its very good qualitty i smashed it a few times and its still ok no craks or stopping working its a really good mouse. Great review its good for some people.
2:20 nobody shakes their mice before playing games bro
Bro, pls dont hate razer products, maybe u just got a not too good razer mouse, many of them say it is super good mouse. But anyway you have to stay strong, many of them is like toxicing you. Razer fan here too! 💚🖤
This is my second razer product within 3 months that has quality issues. Razer just cuts corners on certain things and it's something a ton of people just won't talk about because of the backlash. But what do I care? if it sucks I'm calling it out. This coming from a former Razer fan boy.
Every company newer wireless mouse have problems not just Razer even Logitech have problems and I think the reason is because they are rushing to compete with each other like I have Razer mamba wireless and Logitech g305/g703 all of them still works like new but when I got the Razer viper ultimate and Logitech g pro superlight/wireless or finalmouse starlight 12 or model o wireless they all came with imperfection
Bro, razer is a amazing company and broken mice get sent to everyone and its not just razer. You can get all your money back. its not a big deal
Razer is by far the biggest offender when it comes to bad QC I’ve tried many brands and multiple models
i play Minecraft on it and do 1.8 pvp with jitter clicking and its still going strong no problems for 6 months
Damn I just bought this mouse, now I’m thinking might of been bad idea, I been using Corsair ironclaw and it’s been super solid , I guess will see when it come what happens …
now, u have some issue with this mouse ???
@@TrungNguyen-cf9ry nope, work great, my boy bought same one used off ebay and his works great as well
I have the mouse and I had no issue at all and ive owned it for about a year and a half now
That's great to hear!
Got this mouse last week after using Logitech mouse for all my life and they suck really hard too. My last mouse was G502 which I used for 6-7 years, but not one, but 4-5 of them. Why, coz the left click, middle click fail like crazy. Very very bad quality from logotech. Prior to it, I had G402, same shit.. Middle click just gives up, and scroll started skipping. Used that model for 2-3 years... So its not just razer, all of em are like that..
But you see my guy, this is where I come in. You've used 3-5 mouses, I've used tons and tons and that's why I warned people about this mouse! I always do research about a mouse before buying it and the G502, Basilisk and many others aren't the only ones breaking down on people. BUT NO ONE complains about it! Like It's OUR money and we're just burning it every time something breaks and we need a new one. It's about finding the right mouse. Right now the G305 and the Orochi V2 seem to be the best wireless mice without too much hate across the internet. I own both and I like the Orochi V2 but it has it issues as Razer is Razer heheh
@@KryptonicHD totally agree with you.
I like it. but, the way its programmed from default is garbage. You can literally do so much more if you use the clutch button to hypershift and the profile cycle up button to clutch sensitivity.
i think, frist issue is real, i go to the store and test basilik v2 before buy it, and it has right click like the same u, so i buy g502 =))
Really had to watch this in 1.5x - I was falling asleep lol.
Good review, I will buy this mouse and check it out for my self.
lol complaining about the price. The basalisk ultimate with charging dock is the equivalent to $233USD here in Australia. At the price you guys are paying for it puts it in the budget mouse category here lol.
Well I just got it for 80 bucks lol. It's 53 percent off on Amazon. Got the docked version as well
i bought my Basilisk for £30 and had no problem best pickup ever
