They did mention that the advertising/financial team is separate from creative/writers. I think it was on GN's video.

"Fancy cables" is an under statement. I added up a cable package for my psu and some other things like screws and other stuff from them and it was 160 dollars.

3-4 years ago, I could see reviewers hating lightweight mice and now its all the rage. How times change.
Before light weight mouses were made of cheap plastic with bad quality internals, hence lighter weight. Nowadays light mouses still retains good quality.
It was a big deal that my G602 could run off 1 battery at half the charge just so it was lighter
Yeah that never happened.
That's the beauty of culture changing over time.
more like there was a misconception that lightweight = low quality.
I recently got mine as an upgrade to my Proteus Core so I can finally stop traveling with the cable. I just hope the middle click wouldn't die on me as quickly as it did for my old G502, their choice of using a small smd tact switch as opposed to a mechanical switch like every other button on the mouse definitely shortens this mouse's lifespan. I managed to solder on a new switch but all I could find were so heavy to press that I'd press the side scroll buttons too, good luck finding one that's as light to press on as the oem switch. As for the micro usb port, I can definitely live with carrying an extra cable around and I already trimmed down an old micro usb cable to fit the mouse so I never have to bring (and risk losing) the original cable. And as of the price, I got it brand new for ~$100, and I personally love this mouse from form factor to button options/placements so it's an investment that I'm happy to make, plus the inclusion of powerplay support definitely adds some futureproofing to this, assuming Logitech doesn't kill it by the time I can afford it. 'Cause unless/until it breaks, I don't plan on getting anything other mouse anytime soon. P.S. make the scroll wheel programmable
Loved my logitech G5 that worked perfectly for "over a decade" and I also love its replacement the G502 I bought it in early 2016. I only replaced the G5 because I wanted something newer. As for the G502 since purchase, there have been zero operational issues with thousands of hours well into the double digits for use. The G502 still works perfectly like the day I bought it. People say this is a heavy mouse and I honestly see no difference coming from the older version. In fact I will say the weight provides more traction to assist with stopping unlike a light mouse that will over extend slightly. (I use a black razor diamond coated hard mouse pad to aid in several tracking areas) I love everything about the G502 and the wireless version is neat. But it is not double the price neat and will only reduce performance if the bluetooth plug is far away. Which in these tests the bluetooth connection is always very close to the mouse. So either your tower is directly next to your mouse within inches or it's on a wire anyway. I will also say a wired mouse has no noticeable drag long as you give the cord some slack near the mouse. My only complaint over the design is the cloth braiding around the cord. Logitech just can't make a quality braid for their cables as several of their products have the same issues. Eventually there will be a hole and the wire will push out. You can tape the hope or just cut the braid otherwise the wire will kink there and eventually expose wire ruining it. This is a problem for any braided cords. Plus it collects a ton of dust. Hope you enjoyed my 2 cents on this quality product and I would definitely buy another wired G502 if this one ever breaks.
I'm from same place, same upgrade and same issue. You are right bro. Cheers

Cheaping out and buying an equal quality mouse that's at a better price point are two different things. LTT should really do a tech version of "worth it". E.g. $15 mouse vs $60 mouse vs $150 mouse.
As someone who games a ton, its 100% worth it. Esp, if you're buying the mousepad. Endless charge on a wireless mouse is perfect for my set-up at least.
Yes please
Well that's just insanely subjective. I have a gaming chair, a 144Hz g-sync monitor and a somewhat expensive gaming mouse (steelseries rival 600). I'd argue I'm not playing any better than when I had an IKEA chair, literally the cheapest 24" monitor I could get at that time and a 15 bucks "gaming mouse". Yet I don't regret any of those purchases because subjectively it just feels better. I sit comfortably, the smooth motion in games is a treat I am not able to ever give away again and my rgb puking mouse just looks nice on the desk. So was it "worth it"? It's like buying an expensive car: You really don't ever need a Porsche or Mustang or Model S but driving one still feels pretty damn nice.
@@christophmayer3991 That's the point. cutting the mouse coord was honestly the best upgrade i've ever done, its so freeing after a while when you get used to it and start taking it for granted you don't really realize how amazingly free it is to not have that darn cable until you have to plug it in for charing once or twice a month. gpro wireless owner here
I still have a proteus core g502 sitting around, and it still feels incredible, even when I’m used to a deathadder elite
id take it
"Competitors like Final Mouse" Final Mouse doesn't sell anything, you can't call them a competitor.
They do. They are just out of stock due to demands.
@@HenryTheBoilermaker3rdYear they've been out of stock for over 6 months and they've I think said they aren't replenishing. They then make their future drops private and their Twitter. Because they couldn't meet demand and deadlines they decided to become 'exclusive' instead. I'm on their mail list for new stock and they sent me a false notification that they got stock because I clicked it within a minute and there was none and it's been 5 months since then an still nothing. They're not RMAing broken mice. You can't compete if you don't sell anything.
Tenfootgiant they made a really small number of them and then used the Ninja hype to get instant namefame
@@PistolShrimpPimp Have you never heard of Supreme. Also MassDrop. There's an entire industry based on this sales model. It's legitimate, even if it's dumb.
@@coreyh3994 But that's not what final mouse is doing. They literally couldn't meet demands, crumbled under the pressure, and blamed it on the consumer.
Still enjoying my original G502 Proteus Core
Arsh Bala You need Cables, why not keep it? What is it you say here?
@@lucasrem Can you write questions that make sense? Why capitalize "cables"? What is the "it" you're referring to? Why ask what people are saying while replying to what people are saying? What?
same here, I keep laughing (at/)about people buying new mice because their old ones broke or something. Virutally indestructible, nicely heavy, strong corded cable, wide DPI range, loads of buttons and control; Nothing of a reason for me to ever get another one (though i was interested in this video obviously ^^).
@@jackik1410 To be honest, I just fancy a change. Also want to try a lighter mouse out.
@@itIsI988 I though about that aswell, but i'm too lazy to move around, which is why i use higher dpi, which is only controlable for me with heavy mouses ^^
I like how the cursor is bugging out in the background lol
Bought it on black Friday along with 2 new wired, to make sure I don't have to use any other mouse shape in the upcoming years. Have been using the original g502 for years but it finally gave up.
Love how you segue into sponsors. I've come to expect it and look forward to it.
Watching this while looking at my G502 proteus spectrum... i honestly still feel content...
papankunci Same - won’t upgrade until it breaks.
I have the g502 hero. and honestly for 150 wireless g502 hero I mean I have the money but is it really worth the buy.
Exactly. I have the non-spectrum and it's pretty much been everything I've ever wanted in a mouse sans wireless functionality. I'll never spend $150 for one less cable.
Same. I got the spectrum for $40 on Amazon a few days ago, happy as can be.
G502 squad lmfao
I would love a G700's version of this stuff, love how it feels, not sure if this one or the 903 would be better, cant find a test sales version here where I live.
Bought the G903 Hero Wireless, initially wanted to test and to return it...I cannot return it, I fell in love with it. Bought after 2 weeks the G502 Wireless Hero based on same idea, hmmm it is absolutely superb mouse, looks better than G903 but for some reason it is not comfortable to me making it feel not so responsive, even though they are using exactly the same sensor (16k hero).
Edit: forgot to say, I will keep the G502 also, is way too sexy and needs to stay in my home.
I have the OG G502Proteus Core. It is still awesome.
Glorious_LDR92 Same.
Glorious_LDR92 You need Cables, why not keep it?
the most durable mouse I ever had, like it's already five years old with only some minor issues which are still acceptable seeing it's age
I have 2 brand new in the box back up RGB versions for when my main one dies
Same here since the launch, the only thing to report is the braiding on the cable starting to deteriorate, but they fixed it with the hero and this one I guess

Still using my 502 Proteus Core. Still my favourite mouse. Much prefer the extra weight. Design and construction is spot on.
You didn't have a warehouse full of the necessary equipment to fully test the latency *yet*
Review the Glorious O, please!
There's another reason to be wary of the G502: *the Omron switches fail prematurely.* The "mechanical life" specification for the switches is totally bogus because it is based on no-load testing which does not mimic real life. The Omron switches for the primary buttons in my G903 began to fail after 7 months. A single click would fire a double-click instead. And the primary switch would suddenly release in the middle of a drag. Logitech replaced my mouse with another new G903 and the same thing began to happen after only 6 months. I'm very careful with the mouse, I have a gentle touch and am never heavy-handed with the mouse. Doing research on the internet revealed that other G903 _and_ PRO users are having the same trouble. My concern with the G502 is that it will also have the problem. Logitech offered to replace my G903 again, but my patience was gone. I discovered that Logitech uses the Chinese version of the Omron switches. I purchased the Japanese version from Digi-Key and replaced the switches, myself. This was a fairly detailed procedure. The disassembly of the mouse requires many steps. The two most difficult tasks were prying out the soft Li-Po battery without damaging it and removing the old switches. You must be extremely careful not to overheat or damage the tiny circuit boards when you de-solder the old switches -- and you must have a very good solder sucker. When installing the new switches, you must be extremely careful not to overheat them when you solder them -- the soldering iron cannot be too hot, you must be quick (less than 10 seconds) and each switch must be allowed to cool after each pin is soldered (before soldering the next pin). Since replacing the switches with Japanese-made Omrons, the mouse has worked extremely well. The Japanese switches are made to a higher standard (better internal design, tighter tolerances, less dust can get into the switches, and the operating force is more consistent). But replacing the switches isn't a job for a novice -- you need serious mechanical and soldering skills. I also have a PowerPlay wireless charging mouse pad. If it weren't for the switch problem, this would be the nicest mouse I've ever used (I used a Sensei MLB for several years before switching to the G903).
Couldn't have summarized the issue better myself. Logitech should be ashamed for trying to save a few cents on a cheaper switch on what is supposed to be a premium mouse!
My almost 3 year old G600 is now exhibiting this behavior. I admit this new mouse is very tempting, even more so with a mouse that's starting to fail. That being said, how would I go about looking for a different mouse with proper, well made switches?
still have the first G502 from 2014 and ist going strong
I prefer a lighter mouse, but i dont mind a heavy one as long as the weight is evenly distributed across the mouse. I have a cheaper wireless one and the battery shifts the weight back, so when i lift the mouse i have to squeeze it harder to prevent it from rotating backwards in my hand. It can be annoying if you need to use the side buttons often because of the way you need to hold the mouse to be able to press the buttons and be able to lift it.
Past Linus - "We don't have a whole warehouse to test mouse sensitivity" Future Linus - "Are you sure about that?"
finally bought the lightspeed version. loved the wired version for years. Bought two years ago the g903 with the s**tty microswitches, that failed after 3 months. Than returned that one and bought the g900 with the better quality microswitches. The g900 is a great mouse, almost perfect. But I just missed the 502 ergonomics and I prefer a higher weight, which feels like more value to me. So I just bought the g502 lightspeed and that's it. I think this will be the last mouse I buy unless it breaks (I have some microswitches as a backup, that I could solder back in if they brake). I definitely have a weakness for mice and headphones. Have more of them than I actually need.

what kind of fucking barbarian prefers wired vs wireless.
theres nothing to like about cables you fucking alien lol they bring exactly zero to the experience.

@@MrRishik123 do you known paracord? And also I'm pretty sure if I had to go out with a wireless mouse i would foelrget the dongle
I really love the concept of those reviews, really funny...
I had a super light mouse that felt cheap and plasticky. I bought the G502 Wired today and it feels great so far much smoother it’s like butter I swear I loaded it up and made it as heavy as possible with the weights just to see how it felt and it’s nice not feeling like air it’s hard to be accurate for me with those tiny mice because I’m jumpy
Loving this mice videos, keep it up.
honestly i love this mouse so much, and i've always preferred a heavier mouse for gaming, but since switching to the Razer Viper Ultimate my world has been changed. Its not a huge weight difference but its definitely lighter. I much prefer the design and feel of the G502 though, fits my hand way better.
Razer Basilisk v3 pro may be worth a try.
i have bought one used it for 2 weeks send it back to get another one with the same issue apparently, making a mouse where if you hold down a mouse button it actually does that instead of holding it for some time then releases and holds it again without you letting the button go... the previous versions of this mouse at least worked this is just really bad... @linus can you give this a proper durability test to see why this mouse has such bad left and right mouse buttons for holding it down? keep up the good videos love your work man!
I made it... Took me 1 year.. But i just get it today, and re-watching the review lol.. This mouse is definitely premium at least feels premium..
So how was the mouse still functioning well?
that's really weird that people want lighter mice, I've always preferred heavier ones
glad to see im not the only one i rather dislike the feel of some of the newer gaming mice , too small and light , even my g600 feels too light and could be a bit larger
As a person who has tremors,(which gets worse as I age) heavy mice all the way.
People follow the hype
For smoothing your mouse inputs (whether for preference or due to tremors) I can heartily recommend SteadyMouse. The developer is a pretty cool guy.
My g502 also has all of the weights in it. That's one of the reasons I love the thing so much. I'm very heavy-handed with my mouse, which is the same reason I have cherry mx Brown switches in my keyboard. Stands up to my brutish actions lol

Red Dragon Emperor (M909) is a solid budget choice. Pixart 3327 sensor.
Just got the hero g502 wired version, its very nice and comfortable for my hand, people may say its heavy and stuff, bruh? This is a heavy mouse for heavy customers, For me personally i lift weights, and i need a solid mice which is well build and can smash clicks, so light weighted mouse wont cut it, and the game your playing plays and important role, Things to consider when buying a mouse: 1. How does it feel in your hands, try it, feel the click, how it moves. 2. What is offered for this its price, is it worth it. 3. Warranty. i choose Logitech G502 hero for its monstrous size, and very minimal led, honestly, i feel mouse with led wont improve your gameplay. Talk about the mouse scroll, the best feature i liked, the scrolling in this mouse is absolutely amazing. I payed for performance not a light show, this is my honest personal preference
