    • @@ajburdett882 The problem is that LTT didn't give us the full amount of information regarding switch types and if they modified the keyboard for the purposes of filming, as these variables affect the way in which the user interacts with the switches. Whether the switches were lubed prior to filming or stock also changes the way in which the user reacts to the keyboard in regards to feel, sound, and responsiveness.

You can appeal the ban if what you say is true, and you will likely be unbanned. People at r/mk know a lot about keyboards. You just wanna ask the right people. Asking a question like: "what's the best switch" will bring in trolls. And there is no such thing as a best switch either. Ask more specific questions, or narrow it down to two switches (tangerines vs alpacas for example) and then people will give you different aspects of each switch and tell you which one they prefer.

  • I now understand the editing! It's not in chronological order. Every time someone is talking about a keyboard, they're talking about the one on screen. But there's no way to know what they're comparing against, so having on screen names for these switches would've been a lot of effort, but really appreciated. Most importantly, if the name is revealed, it means that the participants have done all comparisons and that was their final keyboard. I understand this was an editing nightmare and a challenge to present, but I still think having the names of all keyboard on screen ( so above the left or right one), sure would've been more effort but would be a million times better. Still, not understanding comparisons aside, after figuring this out it makes a lot more sense! good vid :D

  • I can personally attest to having ‘key switch memory’ Recently I picked up a pack of sample switches because I wanted to make my own mech keyboard, and initially I liked box jades (which feel a lot like my razor cynosa chroma’s rubber domes), but after really giving all of the switches a chance, I don’t like them nearly as much and more prefer less tactile options. If you want to make your own keyboard, I strongly recommend getting a switch sampler and using it as a fidgeting object for at least a month before buying a full set of any switch. It saved me from jades, it could save you too.

As you can see in the comments, people do not know which keyboard you are referring to. The numbers and all that is so confusing. 2. instead of them just spamming randomly on the keyboard, make them do a typing test and test out the spacebar, enter, esc keys esc like most youtubers do. Trust me it is ALOT more better that way 3. Collab with someone like Taeha or any other well known peeps in this hobby so that you can get better information on certain keys and some fun facts and such. I understand that this is a blind test but it seems that too many people do not even know what is what here. Bottom of line of this point is to find a balance of knowledge here. 4. Please have someone to double check your timeline in the video when its done. To my knowledge, it has been Intro, Tactile, Linear and Most Replayed for the longest time when someone in your team could have easily added the Clicky category in.

They by all means won't include all the switches on the market, but one of these will probably give you a good idea about what kind of switch you'd like since their samples include all the common types.

    • Dont forget that they randomized the order people tested boards in to reduce order bias So for the "MX Brown" section of the video they would have cut things out of order because browns might be James' first board, Riley's third board, etc etc I'm not sure what a better way to cut the video would have been, given that aspect of the testing. I do wish they had explicitly said "these clips were rearranged to be grouped by board" or something similar

  • What I'm going to suggest is all good in THEORY but I don't think really viable in PRACTICE but it would be way more interesting I think the biggest problem with the format is the subjectivity. I loved the fact that there was some reference for what the person daily drives before testing but the problem is that there isn't alot of reference with weight of switches. A lot of the (higher-end) switches have different weight options that could feel and even sound immensely different. Another criticism is that categories are way to broad to test them but that might be the fault of the industry as a whole. The fact that zealios could be in the same category as cherry brown is generally weird cause they are completely different and not even comparable. If you were to do this type of test again I would suggest to get more sub categories for the different sections: For tactile switches: low, mid & high tactility (compared via tactile bump) For clicky switches: click jacket & click bar Might be interesting to establish a weight preference to choose from beforehand (highest or lowest weight options)

  • Not going to lie, I rode the razer green switch wagon for a while. I’m still on a razer, but I went back to my 2013 black widow ultimate with the cherry Mx blue switches. The macro keys on the left piss me off endlessly but good god is the type feel better. I got the 2013 edition second hand as part of a component bundle from a guy on Craigslist probably 5 years ago. It was just a backup. Have been using a 2014 edition with the razer green switches, and then a couple years ago i went to the v2 tournament edition because I was facing a space constraint. Lately I’d been getting frustrated at it, it didn’t feel like it was typing accurately and I’m just a gamer so I have no clue how to test something like that. It was probably just me, but I plugged in the 2013 today out of frustration and honestly, I think I’m in love. I may grab a solder sucker and swap the blues onto the tournament edition deck. It’s that significant of a change to me. I think I’m officially a cherry convert. Still gotta give it a little bit to actually put some time on it, as these are the first cherry switches I’ve used aside from the initial plugin and test when I picked it up.
