Can we just take a second do appreciate how the viper line has perfect logo design? If you turn RGB off, there’s no visible branding on the entire thing. It’s so damn clean
wow i did not notice this. thx!
The Viper was designed by Batman - true story.
One of my fav parts of it, i really love how it also doesn't scream "gamer", that thing (rgb off) could blend into an office perfectly.
Only true the black viper unfortunately.
And the white version looks sooooooo good
why am I watching this when I can only afford viper mini on a discount lol
Keep watching so that there is a desire to buy it one day. It will motivate you to work more and eventually earn more.
Rip
ill be honest here for people with large hands. Im 6'9" and i have 22x11 hands which are in the gaming world ginormous and i personally cannot use the viper. Its just too low and small for me it ends up fatiguing my hand to the point it feels cramping. I wanted to love it as everyone else does but i just cannot. The basilisk on the other hand is excellent because its much higher and the ergo fit for my big ass hands makes it usable without this same issue as the viper. Being a bit heavier doesnt bother me as im a goliath anyway so i just wanted to put this on here to help out my large handed brethren. Dont believe all the hype on the viper maybe go into bestbuy and try out the viper first because i just couldnt do it. Went basilisk and never looked back. **edit side note** if you use fingertip grip this statement does not apply to you FYI
Yeah same here, everything feels too small, Im thinking of getting basilisk ultimate, G603 or asus gladius II.
@@finbenton ive gone through like 18 mice in the past year the only thing thats felt comfortable for me to use has been an old deathadder which is junk, the basilisk ultimate, and an m4 which i didnt like and has no software. Thus i guess my end game for now is simply the basilisk ultimate which isnt the worst thing by any means its insanely good.
I currently have always used the Naga series of razer... I have the trinity which is a massive 120 grams.. I use it mostly for MMOs but I want a mouse ideally for FPS games, do you think the deathadder v2 would be good? I want the basilisk but I just want that super snappy light weight body, literally the viper would almost weight HALF of what my Naga does...
Why the heck are you posting your height in feet and inches and then hand size in cm's?
I was worried about how the Viper would fit my hand as I have always used a Naga(ergonomic) , which is a huge mmo gaming mouse, but I got the viper(ambidextrous) last week and absolutely love it
7:13 also viper it’s better to put on a plant
compatibility with desk vegetation is a major selling point for me
True it fits perfectly in the plant like a garden snake, I’m sold.
The better snake
The plant might die if u put the basilisk on it
This is the comparison video ive been dying to see. Thank you!!
Man... checking out your content again after about 1-2 years and a lot has changed. Thank you for the great video, your visual shots and editing too me by surprise. Awesome content, really good work!
Great comparison, video editing and background
i saw the coheed shirt and my jaw dropped, never seen a youtuber rep coheed, love it. also gengar is my fav pokemon !!!
3:06 I don't think claw grip means turn your fingers 76 degrees
You're extremely underrated!!!!! Please keep up the good work and one day there shall be millions like me. Subscribed!!!!!
Thanks man, I've been rocking the basic razer death adder for a while and was looking forward to picking up a new mouse. This review really helped me choose, considering the basilisk is good for people who play a variety of games I'll be grabbing that, not to mention I'm a sucker for FlAsHy LiGhTs.
I was literally looking for this
Not only are you a C&C-fan like I am, you also display ASOIAF in the background. Instant like!
the moment I saw the Basilisk the first time, I thought of my old G602 mouse from Logi, I miss the darn thing and would love to get the Basilisk somewhere down the line as I feel it'd be the perfect fit for me
Why not get the G602 again though? Its really cheap now =)
@@UndeadSauerkraut might consider it, it was a fantastic mouse and I'd love to use it again
@@SKitty1732 There is the G604 lightspeed a new version of the G602
@@SKitty1732 I have the 604 now after blowing the G 602 sensor way back when. I have medium to large hands and the G 604 has a slight change in the curvature of the lh shape of the thumb rest which makes the 6 side buttons a LOT more usable and accessible. Your call if it is worth the extra money to you. You may want to play with the grip (I use a mix of claw and palm because I use it to play MWO. Once you figure out how to "snuggle" the mouse into your palm it works like a charm. Hope that helps to anyone looking at these two mice.
Thanks for the great review!
Maaaan, you got great camera work! Really like it :D
Thanks I still went back to this, 2022. :)
I really love the editing/composition of the video. Great colors and scenery
I am planing on upgrading to the viper ultimate. Right now I have a G602. A good experience, but the time had come to upgrade
Your review is very well-done. I ordered the Viper today as my Roccat Kiro's scroll-wheel is malfunctioning and the serpent was on sale. I hope it'll fulfill my expectations.
Did it?
@@imtired1051 Yep- it is a great mouse and I got it on a discount. Thanks again and best wishes from Poland!
Your reviews are so thorough.
This is the best review I’ve ever seen!!! Thank you! I’ll be picking the basilisk for sure. Only wish there was a mercury white version though!
there is white now!
Exactly what I was looking for except not the ultimate version of both..😁.. basic version Viper 8k/mini and Basilisk v2 wired
Thank u for this! I have small hands but use palm grip. I’m gonna go for the basilisk and hope it’s not too for big for me 😬
I've been looking for something like this
I'm considering the Bass cuz of all the buttons. I like being able to switch things quickly like gadgets or crouch or prone even zoom in & out with the easy push of a mouse button. I'm currently using Logitech's wireless 903 the newer one . The Bass looks like a great runner up . Thanks for all your advice.
wdym by runner up
Thanks btw I was really having a hard time to decide
I always click the other buttons accidentally during the game. Lol. There's something wrong in my grip. Nice review! I own them both now and I love them both.
Nice video I’ll finally go for the Basilisk
lol i love the random places you put the mice, on a book, keyboard and even a plant. also great vid!
Watching Viper vs Basilisk reviews, this was the one that helped me the most, specially the size comparison!! Thank you, great review!
what did you get
Hi, have you compare charging time on the dock vs using the usb cable provided? Are they both the same charging speed? Because mine charges slower on the dock compared when i use the usb cable, is that normal? I timed my charging time from 0% to 60% it took about 3 hours +? Please to relieve me of my worries :(
Solid work my man
great videp it helped to know the diffrences before spending alot of money on them
really nice video, thanks a lot!
Awesome, was about to get the basilisk but will get the viper
I got the Basilisk Ultimate. Big fan. I use the removable clutch as the "HyperShift" button, and that turns my mouse wheel's scrolls into volume control, and the mouse wheel click into play/pause. I also have the forward thumb button set to "Alt," and the mouse wheel left/right set to "tab" and "shift-tab," for easy window navigation, and the closer thumb button to a low DPI clutch.
How do you assign it to do the clutch switch + scroll wheel for volume? This sounds pretty awesome!
@@MemelordSupreme Set the clutch switch to HyperShift, then go to the HyperShift profile and remap the scroll wheel functions to multimedia controls in Synapse.
@@Sylencer1982 Dang! That's awesome! Thanks for the tip! I just did it and kind of dig it. I wish windows would give more precise volume level adjustment, but you can't have it all I suppose hahaha! Thanks again!
thank god i was hoping someone would do a vs for these.
really well made content and informative. I still cant decide which one I want . the light one or the comfy one
Shape over weight any day
You are great! Just subbed
I have a g903 and have had it for a couple years now. Wasn’t sure which mouse I’d go for here? The basilisk is nearly the same weight as the g903, but not ambidextrous like the g903. The viper is way lighter than both and ambidextrous. Which one would be most fitting going from a g903 to one of these mice? I would like to try the lightness of the viper, but I feel it would waaaay too light for me. I did have the razer taipan at one point but it was just too damn small for me.
Just bought a basilisk. Keep thinking maybe I should get the viper instead but I'm coming from a g503 so I'm used to the formfactor and love it. Hope I made the right choice lol
I should have watched this video before I bought the Razer Viper Ultimate! Under rated review! Gonna get the Basilisk Ultimate now and might just keep the Viper just incase
Why? Viper so much better
Can you please do a alloy origins review?
Before I got my pc, I researched optical vs laser and decided to get the optical mamba TE after like a year I realized the one I got was a laser and the optical mamba didn't exist at that time. So I brought the lancehead optical as I wanted to try a different shape, used it for a couple of months, then switched back to the mamba, as the side buttons on the lancehead are so thin. For the last 2 weeks, my mamba has been having tracking issues. The mouse mat surface makes a difference, it works best on a hard surface but I really don't want to. I would use my lancehead, however, it's locked away at work. So now I'm deciding to get either (all wired) Basilisk, Viper or an optical Mamba. I tried the Basilisk out at the store and I really like the side bit to stop your thumb touching the mat. I also like the lights on the mamba but I'm willing to part from that now. What do you guys think?
Get the basilisk, the thumb rest is game changing
Aaron Hill I’m favouring the basilisk, a lot of reviewers say the viper is good for fps because it’s light but it seems kinda too small.
@@mjcato1 the shape is fine
3:06 can I ask what kind of claw grip that is. Idk if the mouse is that weird or your claw grip is😂
His claw grip is just weird tbh lol
Oliver West lol
I think that is claw/palm grip. Yeah I don’t what kind grip that is
I have the Viper Ultimate, I kinda want to try out the Basilisk, love the lighting on it.
Alejandro Gomez is the viper good for league of legends
@@jonathanzanders3044 Basilisk is better for Mobas due to the grip and more buttons.
xm3 thank you man!
Ok Yeah for sure absolutely love the feel of the Viper Ultimate more, especially when gaming. Not sure if it's because I'm just used to the viper ultiamte and tried it first. But yeah Basilisk more for that high sensitivity gaming imo. Feels great with that palm grip.
"On the fence.." Co&Ca shirt. Amory Wars books. Checks out.
one question, when you put it in the doc in order to charge it (this goes for both of them) the rgb is on? can you turn it off? i would like to sleep without a disco ball in my bedroom
If your pc is of than yes
@@alex126playz6 off*
Tilt scroll can be used as buttons for both directions I love that!
The tactility scroll was the reason my basilisk broke after only 9 months, I wish they made a simpler basilisk with no tilt scroll and no adjustment. I know this is a selling point, but id rather have a simpler lighter mouse that lasts a lot longer.
cool shirt and reviews!
(UNDERRATED KZhead CHANNEL ALERT!!!) - Very informative, fun videos. Thank you very much now I know which will be my next gaming mouse pick.
I actual ended up with the Deathadder V2 X Hyperspeed . Should’ve included this in the video
Basilisk still could be about a cm wider to fit more int big hands. However, I love it it is a great mouse for the big handers!
I've been looking forward to this
0:36 nice intro!!! only subscribe for that edited: nice video
I'm a tip-grip and probably better suited for a Viper, but I did buy the less expensive basilisk mouse and I really love the feel of it. Gotta make a decision on one of the two ultimate versions!
what did you get
Damn dude, your collection of Coheed t shirts is impressive.
Thanks. Coheed shirts are like half my wardrobe lol.
viper comes off as too small for me but I'm currently torn between the basilisk and naga pro
I've had almost every razer naga. Been using different versions for like 10 years, as my main. It's an amazing mice however every single one of them has broke from me. Either the scroll wheel stopped working, or more commonly, the left or right click would start double clicking on a single press. For me they haven't lasted more than a couple years at a time. As a result I just ordered a basilisk, now where my Razer Naga Trinity just started double clicking, again..
If my fit size for my hand ZOWIE EC1-B so i should choose basilisk ultimate ?
Great shirt!
Definitely going for the Basilisk after this. I prefer palm grip, the smoother finish, the thumb support, the ergonomic shape, the weight, and rgb is always great. This really did make the decision much easier. Thanks a lot!!
Great video.
It’s simple For palm grip get the basilisk( i used to use palm grip but then realised that palm is not as good as fingertip or claw ) Fingertip or claw get the viper.
Sadly there isn't a new wireless naga option I can find... I need the numpad on the mouse which has become part of my playstyle
What is those keycaps on 4:54?
The only mouse i've been using is the razer naga, which is longer, wider and a taler, tho just by MM and weighs 120g, so i guess the Basilisk should feel just fine in my hands.
Did you end up getting this mouse? I’m also using naga Trinity and thinking ab ordering this one tonight.
Dude! Coheed and Cambria!!!
I have both I'd say I prefer the viper more for shooters. Hands down I have better aim with the viper. Now I think most people will prefer the basilisk it feels better in the hand and it has more buttons plus you can still game great with it. But for me viper takes it.
I used the viper ultimate, its to flat for my grip styles, making my finger hurts when try to play competitive shooters. Looking to trade in for Basilisk ultimate as its has the similar shape with the logitech m590 which is perfect size for my grip style
This is the case I'm in right now, just bought the Viper, didn't even research the Basilisk. Did you switch?
@@Tomnician Viper is better
Anyone having double click issues on the basilisk? Or any click issues? I’m thinking of buying it and I have a messed up buttons hyper speed X basilisk.
Brainbean what is that monitor arm your using for your alienware monitor? Thanks, nice video
ItzOwen North Bayou monitor arm
Thanks so much 👍👍
Been dying yo find a good arm for my Alienware 34 inch monitor
I've had the basilisk for a couple years now and it's honestly too big for my hand T_T Considering buying the viper now...although i do the razer atheris mouse...
I'm kinda thorn cuz he says the viper ultimate is 117mm but on the website it's 126 sooo what should i trust
Im actually here for the Co & Ca shirt and amory wars books. kidding, great review!
My mamba wireless 2016 is getting a lil old xcompared to these newer mice
I do about 5% gaming, that's it. I just want a good easy to get used to ergonomic wireless mouse for editing and searching the web. What's your favorite under $50?
G305
or the razer basilisk x hyperxspeed
Razer Mamba wireless is on sale at Walmart for $39.00. Picked one up last night. Can't beat that price.
NSL that’s a steal!
A downside is a less flashy design?
Which if better if you play games with lots of clicking?
I haven’t watched the vid yet but I know it’s gonna be great
I would like to try the Basilisk but until now of all mouses I own my favorite is the wired Viper.
I was debating on switching out my wired Viper for the Basilisk Ultimate but I feel the weight adjustment is going to be a little too great for me to be able to get used to it comfortably I switched from my Mamba TE to the Viper this year and really miss the RGB the Mamba had going for it.
did you own a g502?
Just saying: ALL Mice have PTFE Gliders underneat. The glides on the Razer Viper and Basilisk are just white ones. Yes the black ones maybe have another plastik mixed into it, but i was never able to spot any difference.
i have both oh them they are both great mices honestly my favriot really fun to use
I currently have the Viper Mini, I know it's not the Ultimate but it's a great mouse. I recommend it.
Same, really great for flicking in fps games
What is this for a keyboard? 🤩
I have questions, let's hope I find an answer 1. Do you need to have your PC on to charge using the dock or is a power brick fine? 2. If you use the mouse with the wire on, does it charge it as well?
You do not need pc on and it charges while wired
@@viperl7385 dude thank you so bloody much
Man great video i would love the basilisk to not be that heavy i would now i am forced to buy the viper i dont like heavy mice that much
tbh it isn't that heavy
Ya’ll I don’t know which one to get, Rn I have a Sensei 310 but want to upgrade to a wireless mouse and I like the ballistic because of the thumb rest which I never tried before but then again I like the ultimate too. What would y’all recommend?
What games do you play?
Btw there's a thing called razer hypershift, so the buttons double..
I want a viper but I currently use a g602. I play a claw and fingertip mix. My hands are too big to palm it. So idk if I still want to get a viper ultimate or not.🤷🏽♂️
Same bro:/
Razer Deathadder Pro is now a thing, so that might be a better option.
Miller what is the weight?
@@chasepierre6661 88g, the wired DA V2 is 82g. It's all written on the Razer official page.
Miller I already have the viper ultimate now.
Finger Jujutsu. THATS what ive been doing (with the Logitech PRO). Im a Master at it.
Of course i’d go for the Basilisk, But when it comes to comfort and reliability, I’d choose the BasiliskV2 since it’s wired, unlike the Basilisk Ultimate, it’s non-wired.
I've heard the battery life on the basilisk is like 3-4 hours with the brightness maxed out, that's some trash battery life right there. Guess I'll wait till the next gen.
Goodness I wish someone would make a super ergonomic gaming mouse that’s just short (I have very small hands and I claw grip). The razer atheris is alright, it’s just ambidextrous, and a little awkwardly designed.
Razer Orochi V2.
I'm a 6ft 3 guy , i have big hands , will the basilisk be too small or it's fine ?
Im a pretty big guy(6"2') who used to have the razer mamba(not big) and the g520 and recently got the basilisk, Its slightly larger that the g502 and the ergonomics mean that my large palm grip is well accommodated. I think you'll be fine.
@@lukavanrensburg7041 thanks for the answer I'll check it out then
@@lukavanrensburg7041 how much better is than the g502? I have the lightspeed version but i've been thinking of buying the razer, because 1) it has larger buttons (left and right click) 2) its taller (it fills the hand better) 3) the s**** button for dpi on the thumb can be removed. It's worth the change?
i’m basically going with the Basilisk just bc i’ve got huge hands and i feel like a smaller mouse would just make my hand cramp much more than a bigger mouse
Hey Brainbean! What’s the song you use in your RΛZΞR videos (like this one) it’s very catchy!
SJSharkMaster which part of the video? I use different songs in all my videos I just randomly pick them out.
Brainbean after your Ad for Drop that’s the one.
I’m pretty sure it’s called Twelve by EYT I got it from epidemic sound.
Brainbean tysm
I've been using a tiny cheap Logitech mouse I got for free for 2 years so I think the Viper would be the better option
