There's leaks about a Razer Viper Ultimate V2 Pro mouse coming up soon so I figured I'd revisit one of my favorite mice of all time and give it a bit of a 2022 refresh! I will immediately go after that Viper V2, I've been using the G Pro X Superlight and Viper Mini and tbh, I've been loving the Viper's shape and I was waiting for a wireless version with similar weights (74g is too much for me now). 57g is amazing and with the Viper's shape, it's a go-to for me.

@@ippei4944 I really wouldn’t. I have a ton of Finalmouse mice. They’re nothing special. I never use them for more than like a month before going back to something quality from Razer or Logitech. The quality control is also AWFUL.

All great changes from Razer! I’ve been waiting so long for a V2 version of the Viper Ultimate.
Would love to see a mouse6 button added behind the scroll wheel for any additional macro or game binds. There's plenty of space for it on the outside.
Sometimes you have to make sacrifices to reduce weight. Plus lots of people in community said they don’t use it that much.
Wow, now I'll definitely be purchasing this mouse. They listened to all the feedback and improved it a TON! The all-white version looks way too clean, as well as the black one, wasn't a fan of the grey. And the weight ?!?!?! WOW

The old Viper Ultimate Mercury looks in my opinion way better, just because of the light grey accents and silver side buttons.
I feel the same with the deathadder V2. Love the weight and shape.
I like the charge dock. The V1 is light enough for me. I have the Superlight and it's fine and all, but should be interesting what price they land on.

I switched from a viper to a deathadder v2. Both are great mouses but I like the deathadder because of its shape

I actually switched back to my Viper Ult for a month or so. For me, I just can’t get away from the Orochi V2. It’s the perfect mouse for me right now!
The colors on those m1/2 are so damn cool. Very nice work on that. Also woooow sub-60g, usb c, this baby's giving the GPX a run for its money
I actually watched a video where they tested DPI impact on input latency, and they actually concluded there is a sweet spot, it's better to play at higher slightly higher DPIs and adjust your in game sensitivity. Diminishing returns kick in pretty heavily around 1600 DPI. I used to play at 800 but have since changed to 1600 and compensated with lower in game sensitivity. I am still just as bad though 😔

its literally impossible to use high DPI (would say anything higher than 1200) games have such a high sensibility that there's no way i can lower it enough to compensate. I use 600 DPI and in most games i dont go much above 1 sens
I also did that for a month.. went back to 400. 800 is still fine on desktop but anything over that is just stupidly high on desktop. And seriously.. the change is so minimal. There were and still are so many crazy good pros on 400dpi and still could/can dominate other pros with 800+ dpi soo.. yeah fuck minor bullshit
1600 is also my sweet spot in 1440p (2560x1440 and also on my G9 5120x1440).
I was surprised so few tech youtubers talked about these Superglide skates. I did the same upgrade 4 weeks ago on my Viper Ultimate and wow is it a game changer. I had to lower my sensitivity since my mouse feels so light all of a sudden. I cannot stress this enough, it. feels. amazing. Especially on a Cordura mouse pad. What it mainly does is take away the static friction so you don't feel as much the momemtum change during the accelaration phase of a flick. So anyway game that involves heavy tracking benefits greatly from that. I'm a big Overwatch player and the upgrade was very impactful on my game. Treat yo self yall. Cleaning tip : after a couple of weeks, your glass skates will feel a bit sticky vs the first time you put them on your mouse. Just wipe them with a microfiber cloth and they'll feel good as new.
Finally no more right side buttons! I always accidentally clicked them. It is relieving now to hear. I am definately going to try that new mouse.
If it keeps that 8k polling rate, that'll be the dream. on 280hz monitors, it's been wonderful so far.

Basilisk ultimate is my favorite, i have a viper mini as well. Cannot wait for viper v2 pro, still want to buy the viper ultimate. Each shape has its benefits, even between ALL the different viper models. Damn them superglide skates look so sick.

I think one thing you didn’t talk about which is huge to me it looks like they made the side buttons protrude more outward. On the regular ultimate they don’t stick out at all which makes them kind of hard to press. I’m super excited about this new release thanks for sharing the leak.

The dock was good and convenient. Less cable mess. And here i am waiting for a naga upgrade. Even better, a scimitar v2 wireless !
I tried this louse to replace my g pro wireless back then and I loved the shape but I hated the mushy optical LMB/RMB and ended up sticking with the g pro wireless ever since. Hope they can fix the mouse click feel. I also hated how shallow the side buttons were, happy to see they are fixing that on the new one
I don't think you've ever used a viper ultimate or mini. G pro has mashed potatoes for switches.

@@firellio070 The GPW for sure, the GPX is a bit better but once in a while some of the mice do have mushy clicks (especially the side buttons). Omron switches are a pain to bin.
Hey all! Just wanted to say you can grab a "razeer" dock, testing it against my friends, there was no latency differences, and it costs 15 bucks when i grabbed it. If you want to get the mouse, without the whole +60 bucks for a synapse charger, you can get one with red lights but that's the only difference c:
The Viper Ultimate was a game changer for me with the optical switches. I broke the right click on 3 other mice, a Razer Mamba and 2 Logitech wireless, before buying the RVU.
Im so freakin juiced for this mouse. I recently got the viper ultimate like 2 weeks ago so my timing was bad. but im still coppin this mouse
I use 1700 DPI and was shocked to learn most use 400-800. I just picked it for easier 2D app navigation on a large screen and I've been fine playing games at what others would call 'wrist breaking' sensitivity.
I just got mine yesterday after sleeping on it since launch, I have no idea why I waited this long. It's now my all-time favorite mouse, and my K/D has improved across the board in every shooter I play.
The all white V2 Pro looks so nice.. I'd get it but I really dont need a new mouse as I got a Model O recently, if only i'd waited :(

I've been using the Razer Mamba Hyperflux with Firefly mousemat for the last few years. Wireless without charging and a choice of two mousing surfaces. Best of all worlds for me.

Shape is and will always be king I tried many mice. Always came back to the DeathAdder. Only mouse that doesn't hurt my hands and is big enough for me. And with the v2/v2 pro the sensor really makes a difference IMO. Shit's snappy as hell.
The glass skates revitalized that mouse for me.

Wow I'm bit excited for this V2 change though. For me I used G502 and now using viper ultimate. The biggest worry for me was the rubber sides. Idk why but after using G502 for like a year the pinky side had big dent basically the rubber side had will continue to wear down by finger nails I think... and same thing happened to my viper ultimate. I wanted to protect it from happening so I put the skins on the side and top shell but it was no use. Over the time it will just wear off again and ended up making the dent again. Well it's not gonna happen with just the plastic sides :)

As a lefty using the Viper Ultimate since 2019, I'm disappointed. This was the one mouse that was left for us lefties and now even Razer left us.
They usually start selling left hand version of mice anyway shortly after launch

Agree the Aerox shape and feel is top notch. Thank god they fix the feet. Dont know what they were thinking before. Steel series makes some great shit but sometimes like all companies they just make a weird move. I love where the market is going and The RVU is def a top pick even though i light the superlight a bit more. I dont think the left handed thing is a big deal. Im left handed but actually still use a mouse right handed just because growing up wasnt alot of options.

I was gonna pul the trigger on either the Superlight of the Viper Ultimate. I guess I'll just wait for the V2. I've been using the Viper Mini for over an year so a 60 gram mouse would be just perfect.
Don't know if you noticed but the side buttons look like they stick out more than the original viper. Alot of people hated the side buttons on the viper ultimate because they were so flush with the mouse. Anywho great video my boy and I can't wait to try the viper v2 :)

I haven't used the RVU besides feeling them in stores. I was so close to buying one recently, but just can't get away from my RBU, and can't wait for the V2 version because the V2 caught my eye, but I wanted wireless for my Main FPS mouse while I have a Naga for MMO mouse.

I'm on the same case! lol I tried a lot of Logitech including the G pros, but man, the shape of the VU. Nothing gives me the confortable feeling that the VU gives, and the performance is right there with any other mouse.
Well the pogo pins might be a bummer, and maybe, just maybe they could add the hyperscroll function??? And the right side buttons are a feature so if its included, I would buy it as soon as I can.

i love using the Razer Basilisk Ultimate, it fits so nice in the hand considering im used to g502, tried glorious model o for a while, but nahhh. The basilisk ultimate is perfect for my hand.
the highest dpi ive ever used was 3000, now im at 400 and i aim for an 18 inch 360 ingame. the reason gaming mice show insanely high dpi is usually because it needs to have a better sensor that can detect the tinest movements to be able to smoothly use those higher dpis, otherwise it will stutter

Man I just wish there would be a Viper Mini Ultimate. I have average sized hands but use some weird hybrid fingertip-claw grip which makes most mice seem way to big. Right now I'm sticking to the G Pro Wireless as I couldn't get used to the original Viper Ultimate as it continued to cramp my hands after 2 weeks.
I really hope they changed the shape a bit. Like the lower back and the side buttons.
I have bought the viper ultimate early in the month, it's amazing. Hovewer I'll definitely consider buying the v2 pro when it comes out for a full right handed experience. I don't mind the side buttons being on both sides, but the buttons on the right side are absolutely unusable in fast paced games and if I wanted to play say like an mmo with it than I would probably buy the razer naga instead.
i've played pc games for as long as there have been pc games and i just found out that i love the naga pro. I swap the side off because i don't play anything that needs 12 mouse buttons, but it's the most ergonomic mouse for my hand ever. i keep worrying that they'll never make another one because it's not a popular style for them irrationally because it's so perfect and i'm insane
I use the Razer Lancehead. You can use it wired (charging during use) or wireless (with a usb dongle).
the rubber side wear-off over time with sweaty hand users. I had to replace it with the custom animal leather but indeed a really good mouse
I will most likely buy this, but damn I’d of loved to of seen a bit of a hump increase. I’ve read there is a slight width increase from 57>66mm.

The dock was one of the main reasons I bought the viper ultimate. A shame they ditched it on the V2.

The Viper Ultimate is already a great mouse, 10/10 choice when youre a lefty and want wireless. The added dpi switch button on the bottom makes it so easy to switch between dpi ( my dpi ranges mostly between 1200 and 1600 dpi, and when I want to fool around I switch it to 20k because Im like that =P ) But all the companies doing pro versions of their ambidextrious mice and making them only for right-handed people sucks, like the G Pro Ultralight or whatever its name is... So many great mice and I keep missing out :(
true , i was about to purchase gpro superlight after seeing there's no button for left handed user then i decide to keep using zowie fk2 till it broke
im guessing theygot rid of the right side mouse buttons to decrease the weight to pass the 60 g threshold

I recently just picked up a Razer Viper Ultimate and I love hands down best wireless mouse hell even maybe the best mouse I ever owned and I change mice all the time
It's interesting that Razer continues to amaze us with fascinating us with tech that is not only unique pieces, but useful pieces that aid us in our fight to victory.... BUT, it doesn't compare the tech from 2006-2013.... I am a collector of Rare Razer products and I've seen many pieces that can fascinate gamers from across the world.... I own many that are NOT SOLD ANYWHERE.... It's incredible AND interesting to see how Razer evolved since 1998.... It's incredible to grow up with such an amazing company since 2005.... Much love Frank! You are the inspiration for me to collect unique products and do tiny reviews on them!

I just bought the viper ultimate from micro center for 80 bucks and even though the v2 is about to come out with better weight and charging I think it was a steal, saved 70 bucks. Also Ive had my model O for around 2 years so it’s def a nice upgrade
It also looks like that the side-buttons of the leaked mouse sticks a bit more out.
The only reasons I kept my viper Ult instead of the g pro SL was for the extra two side bottons and the dock. I honestly don't care about the dock, but man, those extra bottons are game changers for me. Sadge

Honestly, the side rubber grips are the only part of the mouse that I hate (along with the janky charging stand). My grip is so weird that after 3 months, my pinky would have had dug through the rubber and showing the plastic underneath. Maybe I'm gripping it "wrong" or whatever else. Happy to hear from here any tips on how I can fix this. My grip is a weird Right hand Fingertip + Thumb and pinky palm rest Middle and point palm points are floating. Edit: Still watching the video. Anyways I find the right side buttons being gone as a waste. I honestly love the usability it gives me by binding the bottom right side button as the Hypershift key since it allows me to bind Mouse 4 and 5 to next track and last track, Scroll to change sens stages and left and right click turbo just by pressing a button on my mouse.

Huge miss on removing the side buttons I use them all the time for hypershift binds. New skates look great though for more stable aim
I have the Viper Ultimate and Basilisk Ultimate... Viper Ultimate's Battery is like 2-3x as long as Basilisk. Probs cause less RGB. But everytime I game with Basilisk... I always die. I absolutely can't get use to the Basilisk. So now it's my secondary mouse. Which I'll use when I'm not gaming. Just watching tv shows. Or maybe playing a PVE game like Elden Ring.
I hope we will see a cyberpunk edition of this mouse, bc the viper ultimate cyberpunk is my favourite.
