Razer have just scored the oddest own goal when it should have been simple. We wanted a Viper Mini but wireless and we've technically gotten that but with 2 very different versions, and one with an entirely different name. You either spunk £280 up the wall for a magensium alloy exo skeleton mouse (or maybe not because they're probably all sold out) or you buy the Cobra Pro that reminds you of the Razer of old with their push for RGB, docks and all that other guff... Make it make sense 😂
Nono see razer knows best. They said “viper mini with viper v2 pro internals wasn’t good enough” so CLEARLY this is better than that cause uh, shitty rubber and heavier weight with rgb lights :D

@@MarksterC Obviously Razer knows best 😂 I was just thinking back to when everyone started asking for a Wireless Viper Mini and it just seems like they've ended up catering for absolutely nobody with this mouse. If I recall correctly, a Razer rep initially said that they weren't sure whether they would make a Razer Viper Mini Wireless because it seemed like more of a niche product for a smaller audience and then went on about tooling and product cycles etc saying it may be hard to justify. That then seemed to change overtime as they probably saw the demand for it within the community. Obviously it was more of the mouse enthusiasts asking for the mouse and what was expected was a performance focused mouse with little to no frills/bloat at a competitive price. So they set out to create a mouse for the enthusiast community and have ended up catering to nobody really? They obviously lost vision with what it should have been all along.

I waited 3 years for a true Wireless Viper Mini, was disappointed with the Signature Edition, and was given hope to wait for 5 more months, only to be disappointed once again with the Cobra. I am now moving on to other options (Atlantis Mini, EGG OP1) and seriously considering avoiding all Razer products in the future due to the bad mouth taste this experience left me.
Same. Im currently trying out ajazz aj199 and it's quite decent for the price (need to change the skates tho) My current main was lamzu Atlantis mini and it was serving me pretty well. Just that it is a tad flat and not 1 to 1 shape with VM. My ex main was Pulsar x2 mini and it was too flat but served quite well as a temporary measure. The next mouse imma trying is delux m800 ultra, heard that it's a 4k wireless 49g mouse with similar shame to VM, coming out this year August. With so many choice to choose from, fuck Razer and Razer Cobra hahaha
@@LoveDaGames I believe the G Wolves HTS plus classic and HTS plus 4K are both very close in shape to the RVM. They seem to be highly regarded

The wired version is literally the same exact viper mini, but with updated switches- it uses the same exact sensor as the original viper mini (I know- it's incredibly stupid and makes no sense whatsoever)
I think they don't want to make a wireless model of the mini version with high specs and cheap. And they avoid doing it right.

great vid. I think what happens is that Razer realize they made an awesome mouse with the Viper mini, but it was too cheap. So they killed it and made something similar just to rise the price, and rise it even more with the wireless version.
The main issue with the Cobra pro is the weight distribution, it seems to be back heavy which is a no go.
yeah at that point you might as well buy the orochi v2 and use the AAA batt with lithium it's like 67 grams - 10 grams lighter than the cobra pro and half the price or cheaper

If I Had to guess its razers attempt to make the viper the e-sport line and introduce the cobra as a casual/affordable in case of the wired cobra line of products in place of the Old viper mini

my abyssus v2 is done, the wheel have long been not functioning well but recently, the left click has before a double click when it wants to and i can't drag things anymore, even if i hold left click it would registered as i released the left click...anyway. i love the abyssus v2 but i cant get it anymore, so i ll just get the cobra instead, similar price. hope the cobra ll be an upgrade.
Looking for a new mouse, got a Viper Mini and would like something similar, braided cable, small and lightweight. I was looking for the Cobra, but I heard it's like the mini but cheaper in terms of quality, any suggestions for me ? The scroll wheel is horrible, clicking and scrolling, annoying sound while scrolling and the click is hard and not constant.
All I want is a viper without rubber grips and compatibility with the magnetic dock. Is that too much to ask?

I believe they ditch the "mini" brand because of the embarrassing failure of deathadder mini. So they rebrand the viper mini because they don't want anything to do anymore with mini things (like my ex girlfriend use to say) So yeah, this is the viper mini wireless we all been waiting for so long guys

If you can find a Glorious Series One PRO, get it without hesitation. It's an amazing mouse and is basically the same shape/size/weight of the Viper Mini, but it's wireless.
Bro i hope people (or the Brand itself) start making body kit for the mouse to make it either Lighter, grippier or heavier. That idea is so good, so we won't have to wait many years just to have a slightly better mouse. 😭

I know this video is old but man. I own a lot of different mice. Bunch of different brands. Been recently using the G703 again. I have a superlight but it cramps my hand after about two hours of gaming. I also have a deatheradder v3 pro a viper v2 pro a g305 a steelseries rival 310 and a bunch of others. Viper v2 pro is my main. For the cobra pro to come in at 75 grams. It's not a big deal. It's by no means heavy. It's still a lightweight mouse. I really don't understand what all the fuss is about. lol

The viper mini was not a success. A razer rep in the mouse review subreddit stated that the RVM had a niche following and did not find notable profits. So they decided to release the razer cobra and cobra pro leaning towards more to the general consumer side, rather than appealing to the niche followers.
@@leni1969The Viper Mini had razor thin margins and in some areas sold at a loss due to distribution costs. And now with many brands offering top tier performance WIRELESSLY at just 10 to 30 dollars more than the Viper mini, it's now dead in the water in everything except shape....which was never really popular either in the first place. It's a shame but it's a bygone mouse for a bygone era when wired mice was still relevant (they still technically are but they're mostly budget kings or for oldfucks.)

I love the little digs you made against Razer's PR statements lol. I think there's a huge disconnect between the engineers at razer and the PR people. I can understand that this mouse is not for enthusiast gamers that want the best and so it's not for me. Happy with my viper v2 pro and I don't doubt Razer will continue to produce good products in the future.

The mouse's original popularity is due to the price to performance ratio being literally some of the best in the world (its literally a $50 to $75 mouse with a $30 price tag), not so much the shape (it's more of an "after the fact" kind of deal.) With everyone (thankfully) moving on and going for high quality brands at decent costs like Lamzu and Vaxee among others, and other brands like Darmoshark and Ajazz offering literally top tier wireless performance for 30 to 60 bucks and around that range, the Viper mini no longer has a purpose except for shape.....which is extremely niche compared to most palm and claw grip mice. Tldr move the fuck on, more brands have better shit at good cost, fuck Razer.

I'd agree if Razer didn't directly communicate with them about the Viper Mini Wireless, they also mentioned how popular the Viper Mini was with members of that community specifically. There is justification for that community to be annoyed as it looks like Razer regularly dangled a the mouse they actually wanted in front of them and pulled it away.

Since my Logitch G9 died, I find no good mouse. Every one wants lighter ones. But I don't lift my mouse. I play with higher DPIs, not super high. 3000 plus minus. So not moving a lot around. But I need short mouse too, because I use claw-fingertip hybrid and need the space backwards. But almost every small mouse is so light and not wide enough for my big hands... the only one I found who was ok, is the Corsaier M65 but still to long XD also I use Linux, so at the moment it is between Corsair and Razer. At the moment I hope for good wireless versions because they are heavier. We will see.

this mouse is so ugly that I can't belive who on earth designed this. the solution is simple. They just had to make viper mini shape and design wireless version with a low price(not 280$ which probably they think as a cheap mouse). it would have sold a lot.

Razer did not mess up. They knew what they were doing with this release, and I've tested it, it's the best mini mouse in terms of tech and build quality. Also has the razer aesthetics that others can't match. With puck out it's 74 grams, and since it's smaller it feels even lighter than the viper ultimate, and they changed the name because they gave the mouse its own identity, instead of sticking a "mini" tag to it. The mouse is great. It's misunderstood by the community and reviewers, though I agree on one thing, price, I think it should of launched at a competitive price like 100 USD, with full package at 150, considering it'll be an option over eSports Razer mice since it can still perform

They messed up because the "pro" model doesn't reach any intended market (except you apparently). From what I can tell people just wanted a viper mini wireless with comparable specs and weight. No need to go so extra with expensive metal shells and drops that sell out within the first minute. Useless RGB and 77g weight when other competing mini mice are advertising well below 60g (especially when this is supposed to be considered a "pro" model).
