This is a video to compare two of the most premium wireless gaming mice from Razer - The Basilisk Ultimate and the Razer Viper Ultimate. Both have comparable specs and similar pricing, but they're also quite different, so here I am comparing them and talking about which is my fave and why.
The Razer Viper Ultimate is the fanciest mouse in the Razer Viper line-up.

I've been using the razer Viper ultimate for over 9 months now and I must say I love it. I also paired it with the razer firefly v2 hard surface. Maybe it's just Me, but I would never go back to a cloth mouse pad. The fluent motion in fps games has significantly improved for me. Love the channel
Has the firefly affected negatively the viper's feet?
@@anhweefcr2485 not mine. Not sure if you've heard of it happening but mine are the same as when I bought it besides normal wear on a mouse. I would highly recommend it
instead of buying a hard surface just don't get a mousepad simple
i like that you can calibrate razer/hard pads as a supported/surface while self calibrating/customizing lift off distance. I have an invicta myself, and just got a logitech G440 as a backup bc it was 15$...and hard pads are usually overpriced/expensive. Just a heads up if your pad is wearing/down/out. The logitech G440 is a pretty viable option at 15$ or as a backup/portable hard pad for travel so you dont have to risk bending/creasing the razer pad.

Excellent video. You address everything with clarity and depth. I recently found out that my Acer Cestus 350 only works when wired to a Mac, highly considered going for the Viper Ultimate (@ $60 right now, this video made it a no-brainer).

Have the Basilisk with the dock here. Love the mouse. The feet degrade over time, it's been over a year of intense usage with lockdowns, simple fix but a minor annoyance.
I've been using the viper for about 7 months and I love it this is coming from using the basilisk I just love the light weight and I haven't ever actually had any issues with putting it on the charging dock
What should i opt for both palm and relaxed claw viper ult or g pro wireless or orochi v2 :v

Quick question I just got the Basilisk ultimate in a real good online sale with the charging Dock, I charge mine with a USB plug from the wall can I ask does the glowing Dock light on the Dock itself only glow if its connected to a pc and rigged to the synapse? As my Dock seems to charge ok just the glowing light doesn't seem to glow on and off?

Bought a viper mini a few weeks ago and I'm super happy, probably would have gotten the ultimate if the side buttons were better tho
I'm in dilemma which of these mices I want. Im currently using logitech g304 and planning to upgrade to either basilisk ultimate, the viper (white version) or logitech g502. Im leaning to the basilisk but its the most expensive among the 3. Btw, your voice over on this video is awesome!

Is the basilik suitable for claw grip ? Because im an fps player and using claw grip.. i dunno which of the two would feel better with claw grip
Not sure if you've made a decision yet, I use claw grip and have the viper. It's a great mouse although from time to time I do hit the side buttons on the other side with my pinky by accident.
I love my Basilisk Ultimate, maybe even the best $13 I ever spent on ebay for a new unopened item. No charging dock but thats no big deal
I should've seen this before buying the viper, I like it, but coming from a original G502, the best quality version of it, feels kinda cheap and small

@@TheProvokedPrawn I suspect you are close to my age, 44, perhaps younger. Anyway, a creepypasta is simply a horror story created and passed around the internet. Slenderman is a popular one with a movie made about it. Also channel zero was a 4 season tv series in which each season showcases a different creepypasta. A few of the youtube narrators have British accents with timbre very similar to yours and are wildy popular with over a million subs each. Its the voice that brings the subs , I cant bear to listen to a channel with a nasily voiced narrator but a good scary story with the right narrating voice is naptime bliss,lol

feeling both in person i liked the basilisk more by preference, though if youre critical about weight the viper is definitely lighter by comparison. I just needed a bit more height/hump profile than the viper the thumb/rest is actually a lot more usable/ideal than the G604 which was my daily that this will replace. The G604 just blasted through batteries in 1000hz mode for arpg/moba/mmo and its feet were worse quality than the G305 feet by comparison. The Energizer lithium ions last 3m+ in the G305...barely a month in the G604...bc of sensors...so you wind up using BT mode a lot more than you would like to with a G604...and often forget to switch back to 2.4ghz mode for games to a point where you notice in an mmo/arpg. Its a nice feature if you wanto/like using a mouse and have a BT keyboard for tablet/phone use if you also have those NEEDS..but this basilisk ultimate will be my main/daily on my desktop. At times i may fire up the G305 in fps shooters if it proves too hard to adapt to the basilisk for valorant/siege/cs:go type games. Though the added buttons and side scrolling will be a nice feature to have as a mount hotkey/auto valult hotkeys in warzone 2. Or a mouse 1/click macro for looting in warzone 2/tarkov...or arpg/shoot n loot PVE titles. Most of my G305 die from a mouse 1/2 faillure from all the moba/arpg/looter clicks and click/holds. But now my most recent G305 mouse wheel is moving on its own. So the time has finally come for a more "premium" wireless mouse went with one of these on sale...was going to go with a viper for 60$ which came with a doc as well...but went with the 68$ basilisk bc its shape fits my needs better. Sure i may pay 90$ range for a mouse if i REALLY had more weight concerns...but for now given its larger than the G305 the ability to grip/move it better/easier slightly compensates for the weight difference of a Viper ultimate or AA lithium ion G305. Hard pad for life razer invicta, Logitech G440 15$ back up in box just incase they get discontinued....hard pads typically go for 30-40$ idk why they get worn and the tracking degrades eventually. Its more noticeable in dpi ranges like 400-800 DPI...but since ive seen more "PROS" operating at the 1600-2000 dpi range i just started adapting that which seems smoother/helps with hard pads. And just compensate by lowering in game sens. It helps bc i can use my default mouse/profile a lot more than doing in game/per game profiles. So i can run a level of consistency from shooter to shooter. Instead of 400 dpi or 800 in cs/valorant/siege...and 1600-2400 on BF, warzone,tarkov etc. 2 year warranty so ill really be putting the CLICK/LIFE of these switches to the test, running everything/game/genre through a single mouse.
I love the weight of the Viper ultimate but it’s build quality is annoying. I can’t even charge it on its dock without having to go through an elaborate routine, it just fails to recognize the prongs
I found it fiddly too. Weirdly the Basilisk ultimate wasn't a pain on its dock when I was testing that.

Wireless mice are vague and inaccurate . Using the Basilisk for Cities Skylines sees it out of charge after 5 hours or so . On goes the cable and we are back to a corded mouse . Dont believe the hype .
