  • Tony , like your building films , I really do. From 22: 22 - 29:48 , I've seen the two larger vent grids are put in the opposite direction (ie, the refill caps should be at the front, not rear-ward.) I am glad that they are in correct direction after 29:48. Well done.

  • Cracking job as always Tony, I'm impressed that the rear vents open like the real thing. I notice you haven't filled in the bolt holes on the hull, I'm in 2 minds about it as fill them in then stops it coming apart again.. Look forward to the next installment. Been watching all the Pershing updates going to be a superb build.

    • Thanks Gary. Yes, I love the detailing on the top sections..they are so close to the real thing. I have seen people on the internet fill and sand over the the bolt holes, but I was worried that should anything work loose when the tank is operational, it would be a nightmare to get to. Once it's painted, I don't even notice them...perhaps beauty is in the eye and all that. Did you see the Pershing clips on my playlist? The turret casting and CNC work is unreal!

      @tonys_workshop@tonys_workshop Жыл бұрын
    • @Tony's Workshop I know what you mean filling the holes I was thinking of some sort of plugs... And yeah on the Pershing turret absolutely superb!!

  • Another excellent video,i went a bit OCD on this section of my build,i turned down a robertson screw to fit in where that ‘screw’ goes,not sure how accurate my version is but it looks fine i also slightly milled the grills slightly deeper so the screws fit a bit flusher,i am waiting until i have finished the top deck till i cut the square head bolts but its certainly a lot cleaner with them cut flush,thanks Tony

    @rockwellmediadundee@rockwellmediadundee Жыл бұрын
    • Thanks again for your positive comment. great point on milling out the grills..didn't think of that and yes, wanted to remove what I felt could have snagged wiring or even my hands when fishing around inside the tank post build. Really pleased I did that and surprised that Armortek provide such long fixings when they are not necessary.

  • On the real Tank the engines grates were cast before being machined to fit so the Armortek model is accurate. I'm all caught up now with your Tank build playlist so i'm looking forwards to the next stage.

    • Hi Mik and thank you for watching. I learned so much about the Tiger during my build and post build. I did not fully appreciate the accuracy of the Armortek kit until I was almost complete. Part 2 of this section of the build will be uploaded by the weekend. Hope you continue to follow..

  • Hi Tony. Was really looking forward to this vid having binge watched all the others. The hinge section appeared only to have two hinge pins, that you locked into place. It looked like there was space for three pins which would mean the centre bracket was supported. Is this an error or not on Armourtec’s instructions? Cheers.

    @warrensilk5316@warrensilk5316 Жыл бұрын
    • Hi Warren, thanks for watching and commenting. Yes you are correct, however the kit only supplies enough for two pins on each vent panel. It works perfectly well with just the two and once installed you wouldn't know. Hope this helps answer your question. Part two up soon.

  • Another fun video to watch. I am waiting for my M26 to arrive late this month I hope. Did you only prime with the Etch primer and then top coat? No 'regular' primer after the etch primer? How many can of primer do you anticipate using. I ordered a couple cans so far but think I may need more. Keep the videos coming!

    • Hi and thanks for watching...did you try to find a clock winder...size 4?

      @tonys_workshop@tonys_workshop Жыл бұрын
    • @@tonys_workshop Thank you for your reply. When I searched for "Clock Winder", I found the image. After all, there was no product made in Japan, and it was an order from a personal import agent from the United States. Japanese watches don't have a mainspring winding, so there doesn't seem to be a tool for that. I gave up, so I scraped the sheet metal and made a handmade spanner. I have an ARMORTEK 2017 Tiger1. I refer to your KZhead. 返信ありがとうございます。 ”クロックワインダー”で探したところ、画像は見つかりました。 やはり日本製は無く、アメリカからの個人輸入代行に発注でした。 日本製時計はゼンマイ巻きがない為、それ用の工具も存在しないようです。 諦めがついたので、板金を削って手作りのスパナを作ります。 ARMORTEK 2017 Tiger1を持っています。 あなたのYouTUbeを参考にしていますよ。

  • Do you have plans to add some imperfection to surfaces - scratches, bents, bumps, etc. Or maybe a special coating like zimmerit?

    @barman_ua@barman_ua Жыл бұрын
    • Hi, and thanks for watching and your comment. Interesting question, as I went through this thought process at the early stages of my build. As it started to come together and the results of the painting were so good, I went away from that thinking...I also thought about Zimmerit, but didn't feel confident enough to apply this...so went for the 'Just out of factory ' look. I also thought that once the Zimmerit was applied, it would be impossible to access some of the fixings in case they worked loose over time. I learned a lot on this Tiger build journey and will definitely be looking at distressing the M26 when I start that build in a couple of months. Hope you continue to follow this build.

    • @@tonys_workshop Your project is very interesting. To be honest, this is the first time I see such model in metal on a large scale. I used to build a 1:72 plastic models a long time ago when I was a kid. And now I am painting textures for 3D projects for computer games. For me, elements of imperfection are especially interesting to look for in reference photos. Not just the physical surface im[erfections I mentioned above. But also secondary ones, such as stains, spills, inhomogeneity of painting and base layer, pain wear and peeling, stains from of oil and fuel, dust, dirt, etc. So many things. And this is exactly what makes the model alive, if there is such a task. I wish you health and creativity! Greetings from Ukraine!
