Great. I’ve “bin” waiting to see this all week! Cheers.
😂
I always look forward to your videos!
Thank you and glad that you are still following this build. Have a great weekend.
Good tip on the skirt nuts.
Thank you...Just could not work out how else you could install the skirting panels once the mudguards were on the tank....
Tony bins are looking cracking, you're flying on the build front. Paint has turned out really nicely, going to look superb when finished Have a cracking weekend
Thanks Gary...I went on to weather them and am really pleased. Have a great weekend mate....need to try and sort out a Saturday soon to meet up.
@tonys_workshop no worries when ever suits bud I'm good for most Saturdays Sundays I'm stacked... Really starting to make progress on the tank so hopefully have it running in the next month..
Nice and tidy, plenty of storage there for all sorts of stuff, maybe sweets for the Grandchildren?
😂 they even suggested that!🤣
The mud guards look great 👍
Thanks...They look even better now they are painted...VID up soon for that.
Good work young man ,was surprised at supergluing the handles on and not secured by a nut. Nice cameo from the grandson . Finally figured out what's different thought something was different in Radio control day out video but spotted on here beard gone walkabout 👀👀👍👍.
Hi Steve...Yes...orders of the missus...but it will be back :-) Yes the handles surprised me too...had to glue them up from the underside as well.....
Thanks again Tony. Regarding the skirts. Depending on your marking scheme and time period you could leave the skirts off. I’m just having a beer here in the backyard and I seem to think most WW2 Pershing’s had the skirts on and a lot of Korean War tanks didn’t. When I built my Tamiya 1/16th Pershing a lot of people recommended leaving the skirts off because of mud and dirt build up. I realize that 1/16th and 1/6th are way different but just food for thought. Cheers
Hi David, I have also contemplated the same...I am going to make that final decision nearer the end, as I want to see how it looks before I go ahead and install them. Thanks for the suggestion, we are on the same page...Hope you enjoyed your beer.
Tony, I remember doing the bins about a month ago and it was very tedious with the hinges as you say. Also, you are correct in using moderate force when tightening down the screws on the hinges as they will twist the soft brass and ruin the hinge. I know because I did it to one hinge and had to use one of the spares that came with the kit. I was able to repair the damaged one later however. I notice on the large bins that you have all the handles pointing in the same direction. I made the same mistake, because according to the manual and the real tank pics, the one handle on the end should point inward, And for those handles, since there is very little surface area for the Loctite to hold onto (just the edge of the sheet metal), I used a small dab of epoxy on the handle before inserting into the bin. It gave it a very nice small area to grip the surface. And it naturally flowed into a very small tapered shape that looks like a weld. My option packs came in today, so I can start working on the tank again. I have all the top parts assembled, painted, and dry fitted, but not installed until I had the option packs installed so nothing would get in the way.
Hi Ray, Maybe that is why they send a spare one...I learned that lesson when I was doing the Bins on the Tiger. Yep...too late..I had already painted and weathered the bins when I noticed that...I am going to leave it, as I don't think it will detract from the Tank when finished..looking forward to catching up with you and the guys later today.
@@tonys_workshop And as tedious as it was to install all those hinges I took mine all apart about a week ago and bought some micro hex head screws and replaced all the button heads. I just don’t like the look of button heads anywhere on the tank and have been replacing anything that shows with hex head versions.
It's looking awesome! I'm looking forward to the upper hull and turret. I hope you and yours have a great weekend. We're celebrating independence day here. No hard feelings lol. Seriously I'm enjoying your build very much!
LOL....of course..Happy Independence Day.Thought that was the 4th of July...Thank you for your continued support and I am glad you are enjoying my build...A long way to go still on this amazing tank. Enjoy your independence weekend.
Just wow. The attention to detail (both from you and armortek is amazing). I know some people has problems with it being some issues with fittings and holes being too small and such. And it comes with such a hefty price tag i kind of agree that maybe armortek should look into their quality control a bit. At the same time im used working on modelkits and its always something that needs some "creativity work". Also theres really thousands of parts to these kits and some things are bound to differ a bit. Just as long as theres nothing big that really becomes a problem. And I thinks it great that you, Tony, gives an honest walkthrough of your build both what you really like and small issues, and more importantly, how to solve it. Again thanks very much for sharing. Also my 2-year old came up to me as I was watching your video (my weekly breakfast-watch) and he REALLY liked your electric screwdriver. So looks like i will have a biuld partner for my future Armortek 😂 //Kris
😂 Thats brilliant.....a new recruit... Thank you so much for your supportive comments...it means a great deal to me.
Tony, I really enjoyed your detailed explanation. It would have been better if the small hole was a pilot hole for the tap. The hinge uses loctite, so you just need to tighten it lightly! I will use it as a reference. Thank you.
Thank you and I am pleased that this may help you. I am still learning about this amazing hobby, but discovered new techniques when I built the Tiger, so this has helped me very much on the M26. Thank you for following and supporting my channel, it is very much appreciated.
It's really taking shape now that I see it with the fenders, curious though, these are terribly expensive kits, have to wonder why it comes to you with holes drilled too small, just an idle curiosity to me
Hi Jeff, thank you...this is one of a few issues on this kit...but nothing so far that is insurmountable.
I was refreshing my KZhead feed yesterday waiting for the next installment then oops, my bad I was a day early! Great Stuff!
Thank you...
"Dad I went in grandads "special room" and he's talking to his tank again". " I know son it's a old person thing '😂😂😂 great video Tony ,those bins look brilliant.
