My Story that goes with this video: www.torquenews.com/6626/how-choose-right-2024-toyota-land-cruiser-trim-video
You bet it does 😁
Unlike other brand new vehicles this is actually cool
Thanks for the info on these trims🤙
Why couldn’t they release the 2024 70’s series in america 😭
Yeah it’s so freaking annoying! They would sell so many more than this generic suv
cuz we bombed the dog shit out of Japan and now we’re shafted
someone will complaining lack of comfort
You guys. You can’t be serious.
They would have had me. I was holding out waiting to hear weather or not they were going to. Guess I’ll just opt for the 4Runner now 😢
Toyota needs to let people order on their website.
Probably waiting to find out how much price gouging they can safely do
@@Supaslicernah, the dealers have too much clout
Can you tell me if the mid LC trim has digital rearview mirror standard? or which trim has it?
You mentioned the 1958 has 18” wheels and when you say the tire size it’s 245/70r17. I think the correct is r18 or dies the 1958 get 17” rims?
Does it have rear heated seats as an option?
I really like the look of the First Edition. Do you think Toyota will eventually make more than 5,000?? When can we drive them??
Hard to decide but I love the First Edition (but I also love Round light). Thanks for the video.
Great video. I see both the 1958 and LC trims have the center and rear diff locks. But I could not get a good read on the other off road features between the 2. Could you elaborate? Thanks.
Exactly what I’ve been looking for. Thanks.
Are they 5 or 7 seaters?
Does this include the non-US 7 seaters? There was a diesel for europe too
Great video, Jeff. Any word on a sunroof for the first edition? Also, I thought when you get the Premium pkg. on the LC the seats are upgraded to real leather.
Wait the land cruiser comes with 265 / 70 / r18 is that means it's 1 inch more ground clearance compare to base model 245 / 70 / r18?
Does the 1958 base model have both the rear and centre locking diffs? Only saw it say for the rear but never saw it mention if the centre is standard across the board as well
Centre would be standard, as usually the rear diff lock can often be optional.
Are you choosing 1958, Land Cruiser, or First Edition trim level? Jeff
1958. I hope it comes with the white roof option. 😉
@@rightlanehog3151I think the white roofs are for the first edition iirc. There’s only going to be a couple thousand of them apparently so if you want it, hurry up and try to reserve one
Great, comprehensive and detailed review. I plan on ordering one when the “build” feature pops up on the Toyota site in the spring. My only issue is the GX gets a twin turbo V6. I wish that was offered in the Land Cruiser.
I hope we can do a build order..
Gx gets 17mpg and runs on premium
The year prior to the the FJ Cruiser coming out the target price was $16,000. It arrived at $30,000.
Sure kid
16k? No way
I have a 2007 FJ Cruiser and am wondering about the flexibility for offroad lights and winch. Is there anough space up front for a Winch? expansion for lighting?
Option packages?
Retro-Modern. Right on. This could be a vehicle from the 2020s or 1970s.
Can't wait to se ethis in the underground colour. What was your impression of the plastic trim?
how does the hybrid system work with this engine? How does the battery get and stay charged?
The engine charges the battery
are you forced to get the hybrid or can you get a full gas version? Diesel?
Thanks Joyota Jeff.
First U.S. spec LC I’ve been interested in since my ‘97 LC 80. Great job presenting the info👍
Thank you!!
nice job on the video!
Jeff. Roof Side rails on the mid trim land cruiser and first edition but not on 1958 correct??
Yes I believe that's right on
Nice job
Jeff, When Toyota submitted this Land Cruiser design to you two years ago for your personal pre-approval prior to the world wide release, what was you honest first impression? 🤔😉
I hope moon roof is an option. I would not like to have it when I buy the middle of the pack LandCruser edition.
Happy with my 01 limited 4Runner 😎
Hey Jeff when will the dealers start taking down payment for the new Land Cruiser?
They already are. At least several that I’ve heard from.
“New Edition Cool it now…Bobby brown…got me 😂
It would be nice if the headlights could be replaced to give the mid tier a first edition look
Hoping this will be some sort of option
They can be. Toyota said it will be simple to switch them.
Yes. Love this idea as well
anyone have an idea how long softex lasts...am interested in the landcruiser edition but have no experience with softex..
Wonder what the tow package includes??
First edition my fav i wrap it in black and big tires😊
What is your pick and why? I picked the first edition because of the rectangle lights.
How these are different than 300 series. I mean its so confusing..did they discontinued
So how is Toyota protecting hybrids from the things we are going to be doing with them - such as water crossings. Are we able to put snorkles on them and really water ford with them?
Hi Jeff I'd travel to Raleigh to order one of these but are you guys going to mark these up several K??
It's Given
*Not one has 3 wiper blades, side visors, or analog off-road gauges?*
No digital rear view mirror?
Great video Jeff! Wondering if the 1958 has a lumbar support?
No power seats in the 1958, I know that much. Doesn't look promising. As someone who wants 5000-way power seats to support a spine that has done too many miles over too many years, I wouldn't hold out much hope for lumbar support in the 1958.
wish the 1958 had a leather seat option
Trying to decide between the Land Cruiser 250 and the Lexus GX550. I'm not sure if I'm going to purchase either one. I want the 300 series Landcruiser and was ready to order one when the news came that they would not be sold in North America😢 Sooooo dissipating
What about suspension?
Would love to hear how the Soft tex in the LC compare to the full leather in the first edition. You can add leather trimmed seats with the premium package upgrade in the LC, but I'm not sure it's worth it. If the soft tex is anything like the outgoing Lexus GX460 soft tex, they will be plenty comfortable and easier to maintain than the full leather.
The off-center hitch making me rethink things with bike racks.
How does Toyota fit 245/70 R17s on 18 inch wheels 😅
I think the First Edition is limited to 5000 units.
Awesome video Jeff! Waiting for the new sr5 premium 3rd row 4 runner. Thanks again! 😊
You’re welcome!!
At that price point I may upgrade from my 2018 4Runner
6, 7 or 8 seater trim?
I'd buy it with the tt V6 of the Lexus GX but offering no power plant option is pretty dumb. Lost a sale here.
None of them has kdss system????
Should have dual exhaust like the toyota tacoma trd pro
man i can only wish
Will we be able to spec out/upgrade the middle grade Land Cruiser to include everything the First Edition includes minus the appearance items? Is there anything missing as far as technology on the First Edition. Ultimately I’m wanting the most Luxurious option of the Land Cruiser as my hwy cruiser. I would prefer the GX but can’t wait on the hybrid and can’t suffer through the poor mpg of the non-hybrid GX. Appreciate any advice
Pretty insane a vehicle like this doesn’t come standard with roof rails 😮
Could only imagine the price. I would get one as I’m looking for another vehicle
Are these CVT's?
No, 8 speed automatic
Whats the mpg? And why they r not offering 3rd row?
Official website states 27mpg combined
No idea about the 3rd row. Supposedly it’s to make room for the hybrid battery…
Nice Perfect for my wife and aunts Send us the 80 series, change nothing. Currently have an 80, will be 34 years old in 2024, and yes purchased a 1991 in 1990
Do you think these will be marked up heavily like other hot cars?
I would expect many dealers will ask for a markup yes.
I’m definitely getting the 1958
I love how they don't show many pictures of it with people stading next to it so you don't notice how tiny the new one is. They shrunk the Tundra and the Sequoia too
@@davevolz6138 I don't think so. Try cramming a family of four and your luggage in one of these and then tell me that people are tired of large vehicles
Post pandemic resizing. “Everybody’s doin’ it”
@@user-xs7dw8et6j As a potential buyer who lives and travels alone 100% of the time (not even a pet), can you imagine how mad I get to see the 3-row SUV's and all that garbage. If I can get a slightly smaller machine that tows and goes off road AND goes to the store, all just for me, I'm happy. Not even my old FJ Cruiser could do all of that (didn't tow much).
@@healingenso7923 Yea, makes sense for your needs. Why do the Big SUVs make you mad?
@@user-xs7dw8et6j - Fair question. Really, there is no perfect full size SUV for me. I want to tow 10,000 pounds, off-road like a Grand Cherokee Trailhawk and get 30mpg. Of course, there's no such beast. But almost every full sized SUV is 3-row and I have absolutely no need for that extra row. I travel alone and don't want to waste money and space on a third row, that I can't remove completely to have a totally flat floor. I know one or two do have a 2-row option (Expedition might, I think) but they are pretty rare. The new Ford Ranger might do enough for me. But with everything getting smaller and less powerful, choices diminish.
Sounds well thoughtout . If anyting i would have liked to have seen Toyota offer a "sport" edition with 100 extra HP and 100 moore ftlb of torque....give us a 4 second LC. Even if we probably won't NEED it for urben driving/everyday tasks. Most will never take their LC off-road. :) At most to the cottage...on "flat" gravel/pavement roads.....so any off-road ablity" for ANY LUX SUV is to help sell that SUV....
Why Why Why not make the back seats lay down flat? You can go to the wild side but then must pitch a tent bc your awesome 4x4 seats will not lay down flat. That's the main complaint with the 4runner. No camping in the 4runner bc of the crazy fold in the seats. I hope they fix that in the new one. Toyota even advertises and puts cup holders and USB ports in the cargo area but you can not lay down flat.
Same with my 2007 FJ. I was hoping for the lay flat also. Gonna still need my RTT I guess.
The only thing I don't like on all trim levels , are the rims. Would of liked to see something like the TRD style rims that were found on the Tacoma , FJ Cruiser , and 4Runner. In my eyes this is the new 4Runner with a new name , since the next generation 4Runner is to be completley different , more like a FJ Cruiser/Jeep style from what I have heard. The current 4Runner and previous models shared a lot with the Lexus GX. Now the new Land Cruiser shares those same similarities with the new Lexus GX.
Imagine you buy one of these and go out flexing, until you come to the red light and a LC 200 pulls next to you 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I’d take the new one for sure
Isn’t there more trim levels than these 3???
This looks exactly like a 2000 Nissan Xterra.
Huge dealer markups won’t make the Toyota dream of a ”cheaper” land cruiser possible. I’m guessing base models at 75 k and most Toyota fans buying a base SR5 Tacoma from Mexico instead.
it's about time they're bringing a boxy land crusier tot he states! We would also love a 70 series! lol shocked they have a 4 cylinder in this thing but I trust toyota.
At 1:50 we have 18inch Wheels and at 2:01 we have R17 Tires - WTF🤷♂🤦♂!!
Is this the new Prado, or just a whole other Land Cruiser?
Closest to Prado. Really its own beast though
@@Toyotajeff oh, I see. So do we now have 4 types of Land Cruiser; Prado, this new beast, 70s series and the LC 300? Interesting.
@@chibesachipinda104 This will be sold as a Prado in some markets.
@@rightlanehog3151 oh, okay. I also suspect so. Thanks.
no prado anymore at least in japan , one of prado market
Thank you from Saudi Arabia
Insane that they didn’t offer captain chairs
33% but at the new interest it's the same price as the old ones. Toyota was smart.
I want the 1958 with a sunroof option so bad. Don’t want to pay for everything else just for that though.
Don't come to Arizona with that no A/C trim level.
Do you think you'll be able to get a Sunroof on the 1958? If not, can you spread the word to Toyota exec's? lol
So the moon roof is an option? It's something I will skip in the LandCruser edition.
Wish they would stay away from the damn batteries. Stick a v8 in it, same mistake ford made with the bronco. 4runner will out sell this.
6:42
And still has all original drivetrain and 249,000 miles, seats 8
1958 is the only one with lockers. Basically, you're TRD version.
Wrong. They all have lockers standard.
Was hoping for a manual 😢
Still looking at 70k + for base trim by the time you drive it off the lot.
Looks like a Toyota 4Runner had a baby with a Ford Bronco . Sucks that the top doesn’t remove
👍👍💖👍👍
Good looking vehicles... but no manual transmission puts it off my list.
Do any of them have a 3rd row seats?
4 cylinder turbo with a battery, 8 inches of ground clearance and no split tail gate that is sad!!!buy a 4Runner while you still have time
Everywhere else in the world gets a nice diesel or v8 but we get the crappy 4cly in the U.S. smh 😢
I was so excited about the land cruiser and am waiting to buy a new car, it looks awesome, but this looks like it shrunk - will need to choose a different vehicle. Too bad at least 1 of the 3 trims couldn't have been a little larger.
Unfortunately we are getting the smaller variant Land Cruiser in the US, so it's really not a Land Cruiser.
