I got a 1983 Land Cruiser. Had it since brand new
land cruısers are forever.
I love how everytime Andrea steps on the gas, Zack goes through G-Force as if he is in a fighter jet 😆

Favorite reviewers right here. Thanks for making it quick, simple and clear to understand!
Thanks for the kind words!
For car thefts in Toronto (or the GTA) - this is going to be at the TOP of the list. Anyone buying this in Canada better know what they're doing. This vehicle is in huge demand in the middle east and africa.
That’s why you need a garage.
Why do you think they're releasing it here? So these can get stolen and shipped out there. Hopefully ppl buy these in Canada park them in a locked garage.
Unfortunately a top pick for thefts here in canada..and don't forget about the insurance costs to maintain this vehicle..guess people should stop buying toyotas, lexus models and Hondas here..😢
@@niranjang7245 the only Toyota one is safe is the Corolla
Given how much it costs I think the person who buys it can afford to lose it.
Definitely the round headlamps 😊
I wish the round headlamps were available or standard on all trims.
I like the round lights but could live with either. Glad to see that body style revived....its a good look.
I have watched a lot of my favourite you tuber's views of the Land Cruiser including Motormouth twice, such a polished production and so informative. Well I was wondering how it felt on the highway and Andrea's smile says all I needed to put the LCLC at the top of my list. I also really appreciated Zack's thoughts on towing and this new engine. We will be replacing a GX and fuel economy is important so the new GX will not be in the running, at least not until the hybrid comes out in the Lexus. Great video!
I love the rectangle lights. Great view. As always I love your sense of humor intertwined with data and relevant information. I am sold on GX550. Can’t wait to see if they will add a hybrid to it soon.
Great on road review ! , would you buy used Rivian over lc or gx550
Thanks for the thorough review. Our house likes the rectangular headlights and LC trim with Premium package. And yes over the new 4runner. Good to hear the LC behaves well on road. We also like the look of the LC over the Lexus GX. Is the Lexus GX that much better, and in what areas, than the LC to justify the significant difference in fuel economy?
Great review guys :) I can't wait to see the reviews of the 1GD-FTV powered one. That's going to be the overland champ.
Great review! Having a hard time deciding if the Hybrid powertrain is worth the wait or not for the Tacoma
You two are much more relaxed when you're driving in the California sun!
Agree on the rectangular headlights.
Zack and Andrea, you all should get one of these! It is such a full circle truck!
Thank you guys for showing what it's like ON ROAD, where most folks(like me) will drive 99% of the time. Great review as always!
Just like the wrangler
You guys are awesome. I am with Zack, I like the rectangular headlights.
Yeah, round is goofy. I don't get why people like that.
Geez I thought the rectangular looked goofy , go figure 🤣
Great to see your perspe tive on the LC, a bit confused about recommending premium fuel but regular ok. It is tne same engine in the Taco and the Runner do they also 'recommend ' premium fuel? Really like the LC LC if gets better fuel economy than the Lexus, and I suspect it will be more comfortable than the Runner. Sweet spot, time to save up😊
Great review. They will sell out fast. They come a long way and my dad had a imported 1978 2 door cruiser. I believe Andrea is a great driver.
Great video. Agree with Zack about the headlights. Also, your 1 and 2 competitors, Bronco and Wrangler, do the retro-round headlights much better. Also, both come with manuals.
Round headlights any day. And I also love the cloth seats.
Great view - thanks folks. Round headlamps is the way.
what's different in-between model land cruiser 250 vs 4runner ?
I cannot wait for the crown signia video! I would have a tough time leaving my perfect 2019 prius with its 55mpg, reasonably roomy interior, and the new tires I just put on it, but that wagon just looks great!
I really like new designs from Toyota but the prices are getting out of reach for most people. I like the round headlamps!
Was that soft Tex seats? If so, how did they feel compared to leather?
That's thing so good
The look on his face and holding on to the oh shit handle on the road was priceless!!
For this price go with the GX if you can find one without mark up imho.
Built to last. I like it.
Car thieves in Canada are drooling over this
Are you one of them?
Car thieves won't disappear if you keep voting their allies, the current government.
Sad but true
It goes to somewhere else in the world
Just get a viper car alarm ez
I am with Zack. Landcruiser edition. However, GX has some good features in the base trim plus the Lexus badge (if that means anything). Plus GX probably will have better dealership experience. For Landcruiser Fuel economy will be better, I guess!
Looks nice.
Great video that I've been looking forward to - for MONTHS!! Question about the Land Cruiser Trim. According to the Toyota Canada website, it comes standard with the moonroof, without needing to get the Premium Package. Is it possible that's another Canada vs US spec difference?
Yes it is, in Canada the Land Cruiser middle trim comes standard with the moonroof but in the US, it is included in the package.
@@andreaspencer9813 Awesome - thanks for clarifying! Having a hard time with upgrading another $6k to the premium trim as there are a number of things it has that I'm not interested in paying for - 20" wheels for starters.
@@Skidaddl I understand that, the SofTex seats are really good, I often find it difficult to tell whether or not they are leather. The package does include leather upholstery, driver seat memory, power passenger seat, the 14-speaker JBL sound system, a head-up display, digital key, just to name some of them. There are only a few features I would miss, the JBL sound system, driver seat memory (if I was sharing the vehicle all the time) and possibly the power passenger seat but I could easily go without. You'll also get better fuel economy if you go with the 18" wheels. We were riding on the 20" wheels in our review and I was really impressed with its handling. That road was twisty and I had some speed as there were a lot of people driving behind me wanting to go fast than I was going.
@@andreaspencer9813 Thanks Andrea for the input. It's definitely a struggle. The JBL is "almost" a must have for me. My wife will probably never drive it so no need for memory, so mainly I'd be paying 6 grand for the JBL and the leather upgrade. Both of which I could do after market if I really wanted to. My heart says go with the premium, but my head says "Save your money, dummy". 🤣
@@Skidaddl Our GTI that Zack and I share doesn't have driver seat memory or a power driver's seat and we seem to be managing okay. It helps that it has a power recline button, I like that a lot so you just have to move the seat forward or back. The JBL sound system is great but probably not necessary, save yourself a few bucks. I think if the moonroof was in that package like it is in the US, I would buy the package. I like the moonroof but you are good in Canada.
That new Landcruiser is going to look AMAZING in my local grocery store parking lot!!
Thanks, another good video. Am I the one think that this car has impression of Land Rover or G class at some point? I mean in design
I'm concerned about the GX on-road driving is too truck like. I'm almost never going off-road but just want a cool-looking car to drive on-road. Would you recommend Land Cruiser i-Force Max or the GX for better on-road driving?
Watch the GX review on the channel.
I have to say something.. I am about 6' 3", so I sit up a bit higher in the cabin... and I like to look out of the entire front windshield ... I don't like it when something blocks for view.. But they really need to get rid of - or make that large black area at the top middle of windshield (above the rearview mirror) - MUCH smaller .. see 14:40. You'd be surprised at how much you need to see out of that top area of the windshield for safe driving or just to look out of the windshield.
HE says " Get the Lexus GX" but the gas mileage isn't even close. GX from reports is getting 16mpg combined, and the Landcruiser is getting around 23-25 hard to beat. But if you're buying these vehicles maybe gas price isn't a concern...
The real world mpg for Landcruiser with premium gas would be about 20 i believe. If you put regular gas, it would go down even. So yes it sounds still better than GX, but not a huge differ;)
Yes- no SUV is going to be a fuel economy vehicle.
Don’t forget the HYBRID GX is coming in about another year soooo perhaps slightly better mpg’s are on the horizon?!? We shall see.
@@edmundcharles5278 not saying it needs a be a Prius, but 15-16mpg is poor-especially with the tech we have available now
@@2333jskinns I hope so, but I've heard the back order for the GX is 2 years at this point, who knows how long the Hybrid will be???
Great review as always! IMO you either save some money and go 4Runner (Assuming no markups) OR get a GX Overtrail for a splash more. 😎
Agreed-this Land Cruiser is too expensive and not distinctive enough from the 4Runner; the Land Cruised should have been been built and priced more like a updated FJ Cruiser w/ 4 doors and more off-road oriented features (huge wide tires; winch package, etc).
New 4Runners will be more expensive count on it. Tacomas got a 10-15% price hike depending on trim this year, and they are doing the same with 4Runner guaranteed. That is why they didn't release pricing. If they were keeping it the same they would have announced it with the car. They want to significantly increase the cost, so they hold back pricing so that they get all the hype of the new release and excitement without discussions of the price overshadowing it.
How different is it from the Lexus GX and is the price difference worth it?
I agree with Andrea. I prefer her round headlights choice 😜
Zack I like the Land Cruiser with the square headlights as well. Go big or go home! For the extra money the Lexus I would be a sweet ride !
I love the retro style and look of the round headlamps. And the all-cloth interior on the base 1958 trim level has a retro look to it. However, I do agree with you that it also looks downmarket, especially for the high price.
Looking forward to the "Hopper." My interest is closer to a small Jeep, not quite so big as a Land Cruiser. Round headlights.
Dang these Toyotas are getting really expensive 🥵. I have 3 newer-ish Toyotas and would love to move into a new generation LC/GX but the prices are just too high to justify..
Love your reviews! I prefer the rectangular headlights. Since you are familiar with cars on both sides of the border, do you know the answer regarding colours? Colours are the same with the exception of the Meteor Shower/Brown Sugar Metallic. Meteor Shower is going to be available only in US and Brown Sugar Metallic in Canada. I am being told in Ottawa that they are both the same colour, just different names being used, however looking at the prototypes on dealers’ sites in both US and Canada, Meteor Shower looks more silver and Brown Sugar Metallic looks like the colour used on Toyota Corollas and popular with the elderly. Do you know the answer? Please?
Great to see Land Cruiser is back to Canada. The waiting list will be very long for sure. But it certainly worth the wait instead of importing one from Japan or USA.
Rectangular headlight FTW!
Or, Andrea, regarding your request there near the end, another way to put it.... a round headlight option on the middle trim! Edit: to answer Zack's question about the headlights, I'm with Andrea on this one. If they're smart, they'll have a round light dealer retrofit install option for the middle trim for about $500... (like Zack said, probably different at least superficial bumper / grille assembly).
Like the Land Cruiser with option package and the fact you can use regular gas. In the U.S., premium gas is $0.80 more which gives me heartburn. That meme was spot on!😅
WOW!! $69,000 for the base Land Cruiser in Canada😭. Then $90,000 for the First Edition in CAD. The US not much better $75,000 🥴 Those are some high prices !! Poor Zach holding on for dear life lol. Another informative and great review 👍👍
So much for the new affordable Land Cruiser
I have to say something.. I am about 6' 3", so I sit up a bit higher in the cabin... and I like to look out of the entire front windshield ... I don't like it when something blocks for view.. But they really need to get rid of - or make that large black area at the top middle of windshield (above the rearview mirror) - MUCH smaller .. see 14:40. That thing is waaayyy to big and blocks way too much of the driver's and passengers front windshield visibility.. You'd be surprised at how much you need to see out of that top area of the windshield for safe driving or just to look out of the windshield.
That’s so rad you guys got to drive around San Diego!
the rectangular headlights look like those of a phantom, though i prefer the round lights
If you don't want the off-road capability, is this not the same powertrain and size of the Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid Max?
Another channel said you can change the lights out. You only have to change the lower plastic piece under the lights. .
My 2020 Ram has the electric boost that fills in down low and between shifts with 130 or so HP. It's awesome. Pulls down low like a tractor. Using electricity to boost power where it can help the gas engine is very cool and it works. Kinda simple and obvious when you think about it. My favorite application is sports cars where the rear wheels are gas and the front are electric. And then you can drive it in pure electric and save gas when you want.
Did you know that the electric boost lasts less than a second... That what a RAM engineer said.
The motor in my Volvo plug-in has 143 hp, total with the engine is 455 hp. That 143 is misleading because there’s no waiting for the turbo to spin up or the RPM to go up, the power is there “right now.” And the electric motor by itself will power the car up to 87 miles an hour. With a 41 mile battery, 70% of my travels are powered by the battery.
@@alsheremeta Seems like that's all it needs! It's great. The hardest part of moving is the first second of getting from 0 to anything more than 0.
Great MPG for that power! Hopefully, the new 4runner will have the same mpg.
That vehicle will sell out, they all looks good
I like the round headlights. But I want the new 4 runner.
Any chance this can sit a car seat and two other kids across the back seat?
It is very contradicting for Toyota to say Premium gas is recommend, but regular is ok. So which one is required? Would LC gets damaged if regular gas is used?
Rectangle headlights for me. But I would really like to stretch myself for GX.
Round! My 1958 is already on order
are you getting it for less than MSRP? If not, stop! Please people, stop paying over MSRP!
Round headlamps…hands down look classy….
The instant I saw this I wanted the rectangular, round looks odd to me because I like angular modern design. I am sure there’s a big market for retro round, but I am rectangular modern. However, the GX Overland I would take over it all in a heartbeat, and yes the price of either makes me skip a few….
Round or rectangle lights..depends on the colour of the truck. Makes a big difference on the look.
Rectangular headlights for me. Couldn't you have brought out the vacuum for those floor mats! :)
What an awesome car..waiting for the baby Land Cruiser, I think it is expected next year.
Great review, sadly to expensive! I’m sure high prices are the norm, let’s see how the market goes??
Taking reliability off the table (I understand a big attribute) Land Cruiser or Defender?
Is reliability ranking that big an issue? JD power says the best car will likely have 1.35 reliability issues, the average car will have 1.9 issues, the absolute worst car will have 3.1 reliability issues. Big deal?
Round headlights for me.
I always seen these two filming in my neighborhood (point grey) in Vancouver. Maybe next time I'll pull over and you guys can review my incoming Revuelto 😉
what the ..... is a Revuelto?
Endowment lands? I’m on Acadia. Need to do a MM cars & coffee event here
If I had the kind of money to spend on a car, this would be it 🤩🤩
I noticed that Zack didn’t comment on its ride quality and handling, other than mentioning its “truckiness.” I would have liked more descriptive comments on that aspect of the vehicle. Silly expensive for something that’s not luxurious.
They never cover ride quality or suspension
They did in their Sequoia review. They said it was terrible.
Do you get to drive that blue Land Cruiser after it was fixed or before the guy’s at Throttle House tried (and almost succeeded) to destroy it?
I like the silver exterior and anything but black interior (brown looks more rich) but unfortunately in Canada neither are available at this point. We have a grey exterior with the forever running black interior ordered but unless it’s a showstopper vehicle we might let it go and patiently wait for a 4 Runner. Hopefully more colour options are offered for it. Replacing our Bronco Outerbanks vehicle so it will be interesting to compare.
Hey what happened to the questions segment
We drove 4 Toyota vehicles in 3 days, we didn't have time to do Questions, Coffee and Cars in any of these Toyota videos unfortunately. It will be a regular segment in all our videos but this was quite a unique trip.
@@andreaspencer9813 that sounds so much fun! I’m just so used to the format you guys have going it felt like it was missing something lol
@@abhardwaj02 I agree, we love doing it too, it adds a lot to the video. Sometimes on the road with that many vehicles it's hard to fit it all in. Really glad you are loving it.
When was land cruiser cheap. In australia you can see a lot of them and the land cruiser prado which is lexus gx here. Even in rural area people have those and range rovers. Often equiped with snorkels.
To add confusion, there are two Sequoia trim levels under US$70k, which has 30% more power in its V6 hybrid. Might be too big for some city-dwellers, but they don't need an adventure vehicle anyway.
Andrea is IT 2WD/4WD or All AWD Hybrid vehicle?? 🇺🇲😎🇨🇦 Rectangle Headlights 😊Too Expensive, Maybe IF I hit the Lottery 🤣🤑I Want the 4Runner TRD Sport Off Road, Blue 💙 & Brown 🤎 interior.
Standard full-time 4WD.
The cabin may be quiet, but we heard Zack screaming when you floored it. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
It's all in good fun....lol!
@@andreaspencer9813 I know. 😝🤣🤣
it's funny the square headlights look better with the color keyed bumper corners. the round headlights look good on the non color keyed bumper corners. slightly prefer the square one's overall.
Round headlights hands down
I would go with the rectangular headlights.
Round headlamps!
TEAM ROUND HEADLAMPS!
I like it, but I can’t see what I’m paying the extra for over say a higher trim 4runner
The water bottles enjoyed the twisty roads from what I can tell too 😂
N nice n brief review bt it has to be 7 seater thats y i go fr sequoia
I'll take the round lights.
Go to the configuration.. it’s a 69k vehicle the way most would want it spec’d. Expensive, but in range with the world today if you’ve been car shopping… The upper trims of the new 4Runner will probably cross 60k and end up around 62k.
basically its a whiny V4 with a little umph that really doesn't get much better gas mileage. What a fail that they didn't put a modern V6 in this and the new 4Runner. I'm moving on from this company. Its going to be 70 grand on dealer lots for a 4banger! LOL
Rectangular!
Really LOVE the look of this, but the cost of ownership must be taking a notable hit. How is fuel economy that bad with a hybrid? And premium fuel? Crazy.
Feels like a new FJ Cruiser. This isn't the same Land Cruiser they get in other markets.
It's actually called the Land Cruiser Prado
wooww crazy price , i will keep my 4 runner 2016 limited :)
Beautiful Rolex!
I am with Andrea, round ones!
