Frostbite 2.0 was ground breaking. Stuff we got a taste of in BFBC2, but it felt like all the walls were lifted. It felt like there was no, "I want to do that but I can't."

Imagine being sniped with M98B from +/- 3-3,5km from a boat on a sea while being under fire of 3-4 enemy snipers on Gulf of Oman... So far I did that only once in BF:P4F and still it's one of my best shots I've ever made. I'm even pretty sure I did one of the longest HS kills in this game. Not only the range is quite impressive, but overall conditions were extremely hard (high angle of shot, sea waves, which only made my scope move all over the place, enemy fire). TBH I believe that this dude (video) was there just for hard sniping (getting kills, sniper warfare, etc.) - gotta love recons like these. It's such a common thing in this franchise... Perfect target for prophet sniper/recon. :V

Because it wasn't really. The maps were *heavily* truncated and even then last gen consoles could barely run the game. It was at a super low resolution and 30FPS locked and people still reported FPS drops. It was a mess. I remember it was BF3 that really woke people up on how outdated last gen consoles were becoming. It would take Microsoft and Sony another 2 years before they got the memo though.

@@yashwinning by the time BF3 launched in late 2011 both the PS4 and Xbox one were in development it take 3-4 years to develop and prepare the hardware for launch, they launched the systems at the end of 2013 so by mid 2012 they had development systems out already and were getting production ready for a holiday 2013 launch.

I really enjoyed when they added the bf3 maps to bf4. I started playing battlefield as a teenager and I'm in my thirties now. It's a shame what they've done to the series. Hopefully the next installment is modern combat and goes back to roots.

Way too much nostalgia with this game! So many little details that made it fun. The staggering animation when landing while running or the insane sun and torch lens flares (in my opinion pretty realistic and legitimately tactical) as well as the vaulting animation over objects... About bf6. I really hope dice doesn’t make the same mistake with cosmetics, like PUBG and bf5 did. The bugs, gunplay, and overall smoothness of bf4 and bf3 were perfect. It could use some tweaks, but please DICE, dont make us play in some cosmetics based cartoon game, the world has seen enough of that. We want real modern war. And dont make it too serious or realistic. Realism should be less important than gameplay. Yes, its a tragic scene, but we wanna have fun in these games. And thats what I miss from every single game nowadays, fun. Thanks!

Frostbite 2.0 was ground breaking. Stuff we got a taste of in BFBC2, but it felt like all the walls were lifted. It felt like there was no, "I want to do that but I can't."

Imagine being sniped with M98B from +/- 3-3,5km from a boat on a sea while being under fire of 3-4 enemy snipers on Gulf of Oman... So far I did that only once in BF:P4F and still it's one of my best shots I've ever made. I'm even pretty sure I did one of the longest HS kills in this game. Not only the range is quite impressive, but overall conditions were extremely hard (high angle of shot, sea waves, which only made my scope move all over the place, enemy fire). TBH I believe that this dude (video) was there just for hard sniping (getting kills, sniper warfare, etc.) - gotta love recons like these. It's such a common thing in this franchise... Perfect target for prophet sniper/recon. :V

Because it wasn't really. The maps were *heavily* truncated and even then last gen consoles could barely run the game. It was at a super low resolution and 30FPS locked and people still reported FPS drops. It was a mess. I remember it was BF3 that really woke people up on how outdated last gen consoles were becoming. It would take Microsoft and Sony another 2 years before they got the memo though.
It really was amazing! Miss the good ole days but they will return!! Well I hope lol

@@yashwinning by the time BF3 launched in late 2011 both the PS4 and Xbox one were in development it take 3-4 years to develop and prepare the hardware for launch, they launched the systems at the end of 2013 so by mid 2012 they had development systems out already and were getting production ready for a holiday 2013 launch.

Honestly it kind of does desperately need a remaster. If not for the graphics and fixing the blue tint then definitely for the awful tickrate of 10Hz by today's standards.

I really enjoyed when they added the bf3 maps to bf4. I started playing battlefield as a teenager and I'm in my thirties now. It's a shame what they've done to the series. Hopefully the next installment is modern combat and goes back to roots.

Way too much nostalgia with this game! So many little details that made it fun. The staggering animation when landing while running or the insane sun and torch lens flares (in my opinion pretty realistic and legitimately tactical) as well as the vaulting animation over objects... Forever in our hearts.
That's the battlefield we need again with more added.

About bf6. I really hope dice doesn’t make the same mistake with cosmetics, like PUBG and bf5 did. The bugs, gunplay, and overall smoothness of bf4 and bf3 were perfect. It could use some tweaks, but please DICE, dont make us play in some cosmetics based cartoon game, the world has seen enough of that. We want real modern war. And dont make it too serious or realistic. Realism should be less important than gameplay. Yes, its a tragic scene, but we wanna have fun in these games. And thats what I miss from every single game nowadays, fun. Thanks!
