Since BF3, I personally haven’t enjoyed any game nearly as much as I did this one. Especially on a long term scale.

@Jimmy Strudel BF4 had the better weapon system(improved from bf3 and added more variety) in my opinion. The maps however, were either too big or too "cluster fuck"

Oh my God, I remember the chaos that happens in the container area in Noshahr Canal and the total destruction on Ziba tower with Close Quarters DLC. I pitched an Idea to DICE about BF4 having another Close Quarters DLC but I guess it never took off.

Aside from maybe not having AS many good maps, once BF4 was all patched up, IMHO is the superior game and one to go back to. The servers are absolutely JAMMED right now on PC.

A C I’ve never played a battlefield game before and I don’t know why this is in my recommended but was that map shown at 2:35? Also I noticed that there is destruction in these games. Can you destroy a lot of buildings or is it like rainbow six siege where only certain areas are destructible? This game seems interesting and I would like to play it sometime

I still can't believe how blue and grey this game looks. Also SUN. I think we look upon BF3 with too much nostalgia because of how shitty BF4 was for its first year. BF4 ended up being better in just about every way, but its quality at launch absolutely sucked. Tons of Battlefield gamers defaulted back to BF3 for another year, hence the nostalgia glasses.

Battlefield 3 in my opinion had the most balanced, well paced, and smooth multiplayer experience ever. All you had to apply was your skill in this game and it truly felt competitive, man I truly miss this game. BEST battlefield game ever.

MW2 campaign only got released because they knew if they released MW2 multiplayer remastered fixing Comando and explosives, not even their games could touch the player count. I wish that MW just released all of the MW1/MW2/MW3 maps even if it's just for headquarters, domination and TDM

The BF3 soundtrack has probably the best atmosphere and feeling to it out of all Battlefield titles.

@@artium6567 Yeah, I think there are a bunch of things done better in BF3 but one of the main ones is better pacing than BF4, I think. This contributed to an improved sense of immersion and therefore greater sense of deliberation. I really appreciate being able to still play BF4 in Australia but it feels significantly more arcade-like than BF3.
I’ll draw a parallel picture here. Technologically, iPhone was 5 years ahead of its time back in 08’. In terms of video games, Battlefield 3 was and is, a decade ahead. We were absolutely spoiled with choices at the time with Halo 3, MW2, GTA V, and Bf3 in the early 2010s.
I agree with you but Apple didn't come first htc dream aka (g1) os came b4 ios. Iphones just got released 1 year ahead of schedule to flood the consumer market b4 htc decided too thus. That is also why they had the slogan htc quietly brilliant. They where killing apple in sales because of the price. Difference and features issues etc they had a year to perfect while apple delt with them on hand even tho htc is no more Android still lives on and what a beast.it.has become you can say the same for apple aswell

Battlefield 3 was my teenage years game and I've had a lot of great memories playing it by myself or with friends, I never got bored of it. With the new Battlefields, I have liked them but it just doesn't feel the same. So hopefully we get a game like Battlefield 3 again

I think BF3 was the last time I really, thoroughly enjoyed Battlefield.
BF4 was also awesome. 64 v 64 and the guns, maps, sounds, vehicles were so epic. Mostly everything was also balanced, and the feel of it and controls were great too.
@@OviWanKeno9i 4 felt pretty stagnant to me, especially the map design and the weaker destruction mechanics that relied too heavily on the "levolution" gimmick. While BF3 got progressively better with each update, BF4 didn't really seem to ever actually get better, at least in my opinion.
Agreed Bf3 is by far my favorite mainly because I think the maps are near perfect with a perfect player count.

DICE needs to stop adding gimmicks, and focus on “only in battlefield” potential. Levelution was neat and changed the dynamic of some levels, but ultimately that, the trains, and airships/zeppelins were just that, gimmicks. Currently CoDs game mode Ground War is the closest to BF3 (though still a long way off, maps are a fraction the size of battlefield). Id love to see a BF3 remaster, or at least another modern version with the same attention to the havoc that is all out war that BF3 had.
battlefield 3 or battlefield 4 remaster would actually be great if they can't come up with anything good for battlefield 6, at least we don't get 3 trash games in a row. they could start on an already great base game and fix its flaws and improve everything in general

I remember in bf3 when someone bailed from their jet and you ran over them, your jet would lose 5-10% health. It always killed me.
You also forgot or didn't try it: you could stand on a jet and pin yourself to the tail and fly around the map. If they went upside down you fell off but so much fun.
Used to jam this for hours after school and all night on weekends with the squad. Was always in an XBL party with like 8 people 2 squads going all the time. Best memories of gaming for myself.
The Best Battlefield ever!! I still remember playing metro as my first map. I still cant un hear those high caliber rifle sounds coming from the second floor and hearing shouts of my team mates cries right before they died, and then the pursuing ensued right after knowing one of our team mates got killed.. like mf we went after some booty. Till this day i have never felt that adrenaline of a team bein in sync as fast as that happened, you had people setting rear defense, and others going after the opposite team.FUcking amazing

This would also coincidentally increase the power of flanking and ambushes. No backplate=bad tiem. We would also be able to dink around with SADMs and Genie nuclear AAMs, so that's cool.

This is exactly what i was thinking. I started playing battlefield from 3 and loved it and the squads and sandbox feel warzone gives you reminds me of when I use to play bf3. I never really got into bf1 or 5, i feel like this video encapsulated my exact feelings.
I completely agree that this game was ahead of its time. The graphics,sound design,level design, gunplay and vehicle gameplay still hold up to this day. The only two things that are noticeably older are the animations and the server tick rate. If those two things were updated it could be re-released and it would be one of the best shooters on the market.

The color pallet used, the sound design, the overall immersive sandbox feel, jet fights. I'm gonna have to go back and play this again!! Back in 2012, I put 1200 hours in this game all whilst playing at 45-55 fps. BF3 at 144Hz here I come! I'm so spoiled now.
I was 16 when this game was released. This game had changed my whole high school life! Without BF3, I might have got addicted to League of Legends like lots of my classmates. After so many years, this game is still a masterpiece and a milestone.

Battlefield 3 was THE game that get me away of the Nintendo world. I was a Nintendo fanboy until the Wii (specially after Smash Brawl) and I discover multiplayer games with CoD4 from friends then I brought a PS3 when MW2 was released then I get BF3 tight after finishing my semester when it was released. This game changed my college life specially during those times where you play less due to responsabilities
Jack, the fact that you see BF3 as the pinnacle of BF games makes me happy because I've felt this way ever since playing it. Nothing can top it.
I find only the people that played bbc2 and people that love milsim love this game for what it is a close to military simulator. Everyone that says other wise is a cod fanboy that migrated to bf because of the modern warfare , complaining ensued right after because it wasnt as arcady and fast paced as cod. BF3 will be missed and is always the best bf had to offer. Till they make one like it, i think we will never see another like it, unless we have some really brilliant minds that remake it and re launch it as a separate title!! Love it till this day.

I actually came to love BF3 blue tint over the years. I don't know why, but it just works well for my eyes. Supernova sun on the other hand, yeah, that definietly have to go. Tho game have way bigger issues ( overpowerd helicopters, even more overpowered jets, parachute spawns, suppresion ) than just graphics.
The blue tint looks sexy as fuck, it must stay. But I agree 128 max players would be amazing.

The thing i find most impressing in bf3, is that I know when to stop shooting at an enemy when they've died because the guns feel so reliable and consistent. The only other game I can think of where this also happens is csgo. And also that the attachments were not so complicated, with drawbacks and whatnot, making you take less time to screw around and more time playing.
Absolutely. It's what drew me to battlefield and away from COD. Consistent, not constantly feeling like you got cheated when you died or didn't get a kill.
Yes. It's like 90 levels above COD in that regard. It's not even comparable.
I still have faith for the next battlefield and a little bit for bf5, it's still the same people who made battlefield 3.
In my opnion, BF4 loadout customization implemented in a BF3 remake, would fulfill every aspect of a close-to-perfection game.

@@trystanexul5681 tech is superior in every way. Gunplay, visuals and sound are better. Maps are ok but I prefer maps in 3,4 and 1. Themed dlc in bf3 and premium is the best approach to deliver content. A few reasons why bf5 failed for me: unsatisfying progression, barebones unlocks (compared to bf3/4), mtx and lootboxes taking over, unstable and balancing.

_____________________ I put 108 hrs in battlefield 1, deleted it and never looked back. Skipped BFV all together. But Bf4? Over 120,000 jet kills and I still play regularly. The sandbox just isn’t there in the newer ones and skill isn’t rewarded as much.

Hey long time subscriber here. I gave battlefield a break for 3 years I used to play bf3 non stop and alot of bf4. I just got the bf4 premium edition to get back into it, has all the maps and stuff but would be awesome if you could make a video for returning players on what's changed. Maybe go over all the dlc quickly as I haven't played half of it lol. Just finding it hard to get to grips with so much content. Thanks still love your vids BTW 😄

Watching your gameplay brought back good memories of bf4. Games were so good and hold up so well, honestly probably even better than new games.
Battlefields biggest mistake was going with back to back WW1-2 titles. That time period is great every now and then, but not for 2 games back to back. It's the number 1 reason why I didn't bother with BF5.
It's not the setting. It's just how the game is done. Look how good Post Scriptum and Hell Let Loose are.

Bf3 would have been trash too if they released it with 0 content like they did with bf1 and bf5. But true, some of those uneducated, underaged and sometimes also older players can only get a boner when they see modern guns and modern specops pussys. We saw everything: From western to world wars to modern settings to future ultra bullshit. Quality and content at release counts,nothing else matters. Oh yeah, game devs should only take feedback from the ones who are ALLOWED to play their games. Not from underaged TTK crybabys

David Brock lol BF4 is a direct upgrade to BF3 in most aspects besides map design. It has the best sandbox of weapons and equipment in a military FPS ever, hands-down. Just because you didn’t find a way to enjoy the game doesn’t mean it isn’t a spectacular game even by today’s standards.

Thank God someone finally said it !! BF3 was a masterpiece and still is my favorite Battlefield to date . I didn't try the new CoD Warzone because I personally hate battle royale games, simply they're not my genre. But I can't hide the disappointment that Modern Warfare 2019 is for me : terrible map design combined with super low TTK and even lower server tickrate (in the order of 12Hz) makes for a very frustrating experience. I have fun playing BF3 , BF4 and Modern Warfare 3 . Everything was balanced with time and simply they keep rocking as games even today because of that. Game industry has moved in a direction I don't like at all . It's all grinding today . I want fun BACK ! AND YOU HAVE TO SEE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN "YO MAN IT WAS NICE AND PLAYABLE...” and "THIS IS SO MUCH FUN ,I CAN'T STOP PLAYING" . Stay home ,stay safe ,cheers.

After BF3 i played BF4 but it wasn't the same :( Everythis after bf3 was just "naaah". But still there is hope that there will be another BF like BF3

I never uninstalled it. Even though I almost never play it now, I just know that I can at any moment. And that it will be just as fun as it was 9 years ago. And it will still be beautiful, epic and intense.
Brother. I don’t play games anymore. But I remember when it was BO4 that was relevant at the time, I just couldn’t play it, I was tired of that kind of shooter so I installed BF3 again and man it felt like 2011 in a instant. And I know I’d get the same feeling in 2020

I come back to this game every now and then and its just a fantastic feeling. I started playing it in 2011 on Ps3 and man did it look freakin good...the story... the multiplayer fights, just the whole game. I love this game and would choose this game over any other BF/COD/ or whatever game
