Man the gunplay of BF3 is legendary. There's no way you could have achieved that killing streak with an SMG in BF4 and have it feel as satisfying as this one. Keep playing and revisiting the older BF titles Jack!

Map design was insanely good from vanilla all the way till the end. Gunplay not as much really, because of how poor the netcode was then. BF4 60hz and BFV have better netcode and gunplay, but nowhere near as good map design as BF3.

Close Quarters was great too, I used to love playing gun game on that. With all the guns feeling so good, close quarters combat just worked on that game really well. It felt like an actual Call of Duty competitor.

Remember the gun club & veterans program from BF3? Where they actually rewarded you for playing the older games? Shame they did away with that.
They’ve been trying to seduce COD’s fanbase since 2012. AKA 11 y/o casuals that don’t know what team play and communication is, and that don’t want the game to be too realistic and rewarding to the best, most skilled players. Anybody can kill anybody now.
It wasn't inclusive enough for the new players, is my guess. But I agree. It's a shame that they scraped those programs

Battlefield 3 has the best gunplay and maps in the franchise imo, especially the Aftermath DLC. Easily the best BF Expansion.
Yeah, aftermath was crazy. Very very good dlc & also back to karkand was great.

Map design was insanely good from vanilla all the way till the end. Gunplay not as much really, because of how poor the netcode was then. BF4 60hz and BFV have better netcode and gunplay, but nowhere near as good map design as BF3.
Close Quarters was great too, I used to love playing gun game on that. With all the guns feeling so good, close quarters combat just worked on that game really well. It felt like an actual Call of Duty competitor.
BF3 was the perfect balance between graphics/gameplay/sound immersion ! BTW can we have some close quarters or aftermath gameplay :D

BF3 had some really nice atmosphere and lighting. Dust floating from the ground that its visible thanks to the lighting. Seeing that rocket pass by jack down the street made an impressive scene.
