  • Its funny how these all blow in first 5-10 meters. I remember watching these uphil races when i was kid and now im grown man and still enjoy watching these. Never gets old.

    • @@jeremyrobbins9064 Those are some super tuned engines mostly in saudi arabia. They kinda overtune these to get maxium power and sometimes those blow out. Im pretty sure this is mostly saudi arabia thing. These people really put effort and money to build these cars.

  • the extreme heat and pressures inside these motors must be insane. These guys go all out to.. the 2wd Toyota with some big paddles and a turbo v8 seems to be the way to go.

  • I love that the rules seem to allow almost any design. It is also astonishing that their is so much destruction and what appears to be incompetence.   • Nothing compares to a rich Saudi and his even richer dad. With that said, I wish that these "races" were being run when I worked there in the late '80s. There just was nothing to do on their Thursday/Friday weekends except drink NA beer and watch tennis or soccer (yawnnnn) on TV when the temps were in the triple digits F.

    • Well they are making 4,000 to 10,000hp so long life was never in the cards. Believe they know what they are doing. The lack of air filters shows they dont care anyway.

    • Its also the worst kind of track to run on. You have a steep angle that messes with oiling, an un even surface that constantly unloads the tires and jacks your rpm, and god help your bearings if sand gets in your engine...

  • There has to be a safe way to mount fire suppression systems on the firewall in the engine compartment. Hopefully they have them in the driver compartment.

    • They aren’t meant to last, only for these kind of events after that they get rebuilt. Even with an air filter with the amount of power that they make they aren’t sustainable.

  • 7:27 Sand and engines definitely don't mix. Always amazes me that they actually run these with just open turbos and not have at least some basic screen or at least a deflector so it doesn't try and gobble up the desert when it plows in.

  • Been at Pismo a few times,at the devil's hole, one time, had an accidente, I was getting to the top, on my quad,full speed,a bike was going down, crashed head on, I must have flown a good 30 feet in the air,bounced way high when I landed, didn't kill each other because the other guy pushed my head to the side, other way,we would have hit heads.I was wearing just shorts. But nothing happened to either one, my quad ended up with a flat tire, the bike flew in pieces,got desintegrated.Cant understand how my little wheel did that, the rim don't even twist,or the suspension. The flag for warning, broke off ten minutes after I got there, but it ain't no use, anyway, like you were riding along a fence, so it would stick above it,in the dunes, it happens to quick to even notice it. But all well, they don't let you in without it. Is a blast though, plenty of girlies
