Finally a reaction of someone who hasn't seen the leaks before. It's such a shame that the announcments got leaked beforehand cause i like to watch the reactions of other people and every other reaction so far was "oh yeah, exactly as the leak said"...
It's kinda frustrating to see that, if they are gonna be like that it's better to just post a video analyzing the trailers rather than make a boring reaction.

What's the point of being excited for a Pokémon "direct" for months and then spoiling yourself an hour before the presentation?? I don't understand some people lol. It's like going to see a new movie but reading the plot from wikipedia on your way there lmao
i honestly was not aware of these leaks lol. kinda stopped caring about them and just would rather developers themselves show me.

Legends looks like it has a ton of potential, with a different developer on the remakes hopefully they have time to add a ton of polish and content. They're on the right track but some of the framerates and animations need work. With different developers for each game hopefully they have enough time and resources.

They definitely have enough money and resources, it just requires the company to commit the amount it needs and trust they will get a return on it, which they absolutely will

They have a year to iron out the frame rate issues so hopefully they can by then. I do hope they put some cool twist on the battle system because it looks very traditional still.

I really hope the one they go all in on in this style is during the warring era that's been mentioned. Adding in MMO type features will solidify Pokemon for generations to come once again

I really hope people don’t hate something different like they did with gen 5 when it comes out. If this new game does well it could spell a new direction for the franchise.
Arceus is the game I've always wanted from Pokémon. A New story that different, set in a past region, mixed starters, BOTW type gameplay, SINNOH and ARCEUS. WHOLLY SHIT
I feel you man, this to me is so needed as a Breath of Fresh Air after rehashing a bunch of remakes with minimal changes which aren't as exciting for me anymore

Right, Chimchar is the one starter that feels like a necessary pick in gen 4, otherwise we would be stuck with Ponyta if we wanted a fire type.
Chimchar gotta go, NO CAP.... I always hated the design for that whole fire line in Gen 4, even though I know Infernape is great competitively. Would still rather use Piplup or Turtwig. A monkey with a flame coming out of his ass never appealed to me. Sorry not sorry

I hope Legends manages to put some classic DP music in where the songs would play originally. Like you could hear a faint Route 209 if you go to that spot, or they make it sound like a Feudal Version of that song

I've being asking for pokemon to take a new direction other than "beat the gyms/trials, go to the olympics". Something new, fresh and risky... And they seem to be doing it at last, you love to see it. I can't believe I'm excited for pokemon again, it feels like a childhood christmas. Lets hope it delivers
Finally found someone who reacted to it like I did. The old style, just fresh and 3D. All I ever wanted! Just give me some of the more modern mechanics like megas and HM replacements and this is going to be fire.
My main question is how the Poketch will work. Someone spotted the clown in Jubilife City blocking the door who was responsible for getting a Poketch, and I'm thinking that it might be a corner pop up menu.

I feel like the whole "generation" each year/every other year is what they're trying to break here, hence why there are different generations being used for this games starter. Having to redo the same kind of formula might be getting bland for them too and instead they've decided to focus on telling a story/developing gameplay over having to design entirely new pokemon each time. Personally I think that we've got so many pokemon that we don't need a new batch every year, and instead we can just do this more interesting games with what we've already got.
I have been thinking the games didn't need new Pokemon for two gens now and should just focus on doing new things. I'm glad Legends is doing that.
Honestly if Pokemon took a 2-3 year break it would benefit immensely from it Edit - I mean just focus on doing side games or even... I could go a full year without anything new to be fair

The legends series has so much potential I would love if they did this for all the gens like gen 5 we could see the complete dragon form of zekrom, reshiram, and kyrum and learn about the history of unova

I experienced such a rollercoaster of emotions once they hit that "2007!" When starting the remake announcement, but overall I'm very happy with this presentation. Funny enough, I was wondering what ninjas are doing in the Pokemon universe thinking about Janine and Koga, but seems Legends will answer that lol. It's looking pretty clean right now, and i love the idea of using the history/legend focused Sinnoh for our first main series PREQUEL. Also, at first Brilliant/Shining was jarring but I think it's cool they're doing a more 1:1 remake as long as it builds on the ogs with improvements and new things

I am one of the few people it seems who like the look of the remakes it reminds me of the Links’s Awakening remake and I enjoyed that art style

An open world Pokemon game is a dream come true, and glad the series is trying it, hopefully not just as a one-off, but if you rewatch the footage, the visuals for Legendss are REALLY rough. Even compared to Sword/Shield and Let's Go, which already had a lot of criticism of poor graphics, Legends looks notably worse, frankly to the point where it didn't look ready to show off. The Diamond/Pearl remakes also seem to have worse lighting, character model shaders, and general details then Let's Go did. I'm not expecting Pokemon games to be graphical powerhouses, but I don't think it's unreasonable to want them to at elast look as good as a prior game in the series on the same system from 3 years ago

I'm looking forward to the remakes, but I'm not sure of legends. It is cool, but what is there to do? Will I have fun for a long time or get bored after a few Pokemon? It could be the best game ever or a big disappointment. It's going to be a long 2021
@@jturriff99 that's something a lot of open world games struggled with, so it can be kinda hit or miss.
Man gen 4 has so much nostalgia for me i was in 4th grade trading versions with my best friend to this day.

I love BDSP art, I think that the remakes shouldn't change the formula that much. But man Arceus looks amazing, if it has an option for real time battles I'm sold
I think it's super smart to outsource the remake to another dev team and also to have a new traditional game + a new innovative game. I'm actually proud of Gamefreak for doing something so new. Sword and Shield kinda had me doubting Gamefreak's creativity. I also wasn't super into the remake artstyle BUT I would still play it for sure. I don't hate the art at all.

sinnoh remake visuals are growing on me it looks like links awakening remake but more budget friendly assets. im stunned with the legends announcement, seems like pokemon is catching up to the rest of the rpg landscape.
Legends is HUGE for Gamefreak. It is amazing how they went from garbage like Sword and Shield to this.
I really hope the FPS and resolution gets dealt with man, I want this game to be polished and sell well. The ceiling for how good a game series Arceus Legends, Kyurem Legends, Zygarde Legends, Necrozma legends could be is INSAAAAAAANE

Nintendo, GameFreak, please realize that when we posted "NINTENDO, HIRE THAT MAN!" comments on fan-made videos of Mario and Pokémon characters with realistic shaders in Unreal engine, we were J O K I N G, you didn't have to literally "HIRE THAT MAN"

I like how the camera angle in BD/SP is higher in the sky than in recent Pokémon games. Reminds me of the 2D games when you couldn't move diagonally LOL.

Finally excited for Pokémon again. All they had to do to get me was Sinnoh with a controllable camera. They did it and then some.

I’m honestly as pleased as I could be, nostalgic and true to form remakes of my favorite gen and ACTUALLY TRYING NEW THINGS?? I’m sold
Also the starters are based on the feudal era weapons. Cyndaquil based of gun powder and guns, rowlet is based of archery, and oshawott is based of katanas
For those who didnt noticw, the pokemon starters are chosen due to what they can symbolise. Rowlett is an Archer thus the bow, Oshawott is a samurai so a katana sword and cyndaquil is a gun/cannon !
Actually Roger most people are not happy with the diamond and pearl. Since they call it a remastered not a remake, since they don't like the chibi art style. I find it charming and a throw back to the style pokemon, it kind of reminds me of final fantasy 9 where it was a throw back to the old ff games

This is one of the few games that ALL STARTERS are Great!!! Also my favorite gen
I don't think anyone noticed this initially, but the logo on the MCs sleeves in the Arceus game are VERY reminiscent of Team Galactic's logo from DP, wonder how they'll tie that bit of lore in.
They did say during the pokemon expansion pass direct that the "wild area" type areas and the dlcs are what they were going for in the future. This game looks like a massive wild area ^^

I like legend conceptually, and since it's so far away I'll give it the benefit of the doubt for now, but man it graphically doesn't look good at all.
I don't care too much for graphics though.
You do have to admit though that it is a good couple steps up from SWSH
Being cautiously optimistic is the way way to go. I've been dissapointed enough by game freak to never have high expectations, but let's see how it goes

I'm happy to hear the news about the two brand new games release in November Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, but I was expecting that the Game Freak company would continued the Pokemon Sword and Shiled Graphic designs onto the remake of Pokemon Diamond and Pearl🤔

Welp, now I need things like Pokemon Legends: Rayquaza where you witness the construction of the sky tower, or Pokemon Legends: Kyurem where you witness the original dragon split in 2 and leave the husk of kyurem behind, etc.

To me the hypest part of Legends is that you're making Sinnoh's first pokedex. That's such a unique main goal for a pokemon game, and it gives you an actual awesome role in the lore of the world! Having a game where your main goal is ACTUALLY about catching pokemon, including a mysterious legendary, is just brilliant. Really hope they do it right
Gen 4 remakes look amazing
This is great but being level headed now what else would we do in an open world like this besides doing the usual catching and battling pokemon? I feel like there needs to be more to it than just that.
I love the artstyle they are doing with Pokémon P/D and I’m so flipping happy that the underground wasn’t removed, I spent so much time in that maze just digging. I also have hopes for Legend because it’s a new take and I love new takes on old formulas.
shining pearl and brilliant diamond being made by ilca who made Pokémon home seems like their testing them to see how it's received, as its basically every inch the same as its predecessor and they're bringing it into 2021, we might see ilca doing the same to other previous Pokémon generations modernizing them for the switch, legends is an interesting spin on the genre it looks promising if it's done right. P.S great reaction roger, always enjoy your content, Nintendo related or not, you've got a great personality that makes your views all the more enjoyable, keep up the great work!
If Legends is a thing that's going to be the future of the series I really hope we get a game where we get to see the Pokèmon Kyurem was before Zekrom and Reshiram split from it. We could also get Johto where we could see what the legendary Beasts were originally before Ho-Oh resurrected them when the tower burned down. Maybe even the Kalos War. There are just so many possibilities! I'm excited either way!

The Pokemon Legends Arceus has me crazy hype and has a lot of potential. It will be awesome to see how the pokemon was in ancient times. There is a possibility that you as the main character will be the one creating the sinnoh region, like for example the elite four and also being the first champion. Maybe we will meet the grandma of Cynthia in her youth? When the Pokemon company will see that this game is selling well, they will make these types of games for more regions. That brings the hype for me, because just imagine you going back in ancient times for the Unova region. You will experience the war between the ancient kings who held Zekrom and Reshiram. The same can be said about the ancient times of the Hoenn region, where the burned tower hasn't been burned out yet and you will experience how that happened and the tale behind how entei, suicune and raikou were created. I also heard that the logo on peoples shirts means Team Galactic in Japanese or/is connected to the nam Team Galactic somehow. So it will be interesting to see how that unfolds.....
A little worried about DP remake when it comes to quality of life stuff. Legends looks dope
They would do a legends johto and potentially see the tin tower burn down xD
