I feel like the pandemic has ruined my perception of time. It feels too soon, but it's already been three years since Sword/Shield released. Every generation has been three years apart since Black/White.
The thing is even with the lack of brand new Pokemon apart from regional forms and evolutions. Legend Arceus felt like a new game I think that's why none of us were ready for another new generation.

So if focus its not hard to get every pokemon to rank 10 so I agree when u say legends will not keep people for long
I kinda think Pokemon in general needs a rest, how much time and care have they put into this generation if they where pumping out remakes, dlcs and arceus nonstop for the last year.

I’m praying that Galar and Arceus walked so this game can run! Gotta go for the Apple Dinosaur starter (hopefully their evolutions don’t suck) and as much as Galar is memed on those UK Pokémon were great and I hope they return (Sinistea, Hatarene, Toxicitry etc)

There are some hints to Spain in the villa photos. There's a white stucco street shot similar to Spanish architecture in the south and a picture of a flamenco dancer. I think you're right on the Spain call! Red ochre which I think is supposed to be scarlet here, was used in some of the first cave paintings in the world, which are located in Spain. :)
I'm from Spain and I can definitely say the main city is a fusion of Barcelona, Madrid and Seville. It has de Gaudi style of Barcelona, the structure of the Plaza Mayor from Madrid and the typical Sevillian ochre color to the house facades and also the palm trees, the orange trees, the colorful tiles... I'm so honoured that Pokemon acknowledges my country hahaha!💕 😂✌🏼
And then if you look at the region map it looks alot like western Iberian peninsula. And then all of the stuff in the room with the security guard like the shields on the doors with a steering wheel and grapes both are connected to Spain. And plus the whole desert would fit with Spain and the style of buildings. Man I cannot wait, because looking at some of the stuff it's also going to incorporate Central American stuff like Fuecoco being a chili pepper which was found in Central America. Kinda hope Fuecoco turns into a Quetzicoatl like pokemon and Sprigtato turns into a SaberTooth. And I can already tell the Duck is going to be an Admiral.
It’s absolutely Spain. On top of all that, the map is almost a 1 for 1 of Spain and Portugal. While I’m not usually overly interested in Spanish culture, this is hype and might actually make me look more into it.

The new Pokémon region is inspired by Spain?! Oh, boy! As a Spaniard myself, I can tell you I'm excited. I see references to the walled city of Ávila, the windmills from Castilla la Mancha (the famous ones from "Don Quixote"), the architecture from Southern Spain in general and Seville in particular, and of course, the Sagrada Familia from Barcelona. Heck, I wonder if the grass cat starter will turn into some sort of Iberian Lynx in the final evolution! Or the water duck will turn into some sort of peregrine falcon? Good times!
It is 100% Spain. Also the Scarlet and Voilet are colors from the second Spanish Republic flag. The main plaza also kinda reminded me of plaza mayor a bit.

Do you really think The Pokémon Company would risk a PR nightmare by putting such a politicized reference in what it's essentially a kids game? As for the main plaza, yeah, it looks like a plaza mayor but... from which city? People say Madrid, but the details and the round center makes me think of Seville, to be honest.

This new region reminds me a lot of Spain as well... That plus the fact that they choose Scarlet and Violet for the titles ! ^o^ => Those two colors have been a part of Spain's folklore for quite some time ! Especially the scarlet color !

Seeing the Pokémon titles Scarlet and Violet, I get Dressrosa vibes from One Piece. Both locations are based on Spain and have Spanish theme. Interestingly, in Dressrosa, there's also two Princesses named Scarlet and Violet. Technically Violet is actually Viola's codename. It'll be interesting if they introduce a flamingo Pokémon in this game. For some reason, whenever I see Quaxly the duck starter, I kept thinking of Sanji. 🤔

The game definitely has to do with light. There’s light all through the trailer and red and violet are the two ends of the light spectrum. There’s also noise or motion that seems to be disrupting the video… maybe new typings of light and sound?

I'm calling it right now. Tauros is DEFINITELY gonna be getting a regional variant for this game if it's based off Spain. They'd be crazy not to do it. Anyways, really excited. Switch lineup is so stacked this year. Definitely going with the fire starter, his face just looks adorable.

The mills are inspired by the mills "Del Quijote" by Miguel de Cervantes and these types of mills are located in a region called in Spanish "castilla la mancha"

The medieval castle and medieval vibe of some cities is clearly Spanish and Portuguese, there' no other place to have huge ass castles but the region that was at war for almost 800 year during the MA and it looks very similar to Toledo and Covadonga castles. It's clearly Spain and Portugal (you even get the Sagrada familia and Barcelona's plaza to the Museum). I understand that it is not obvious to foreigners, but anyone from Spain and Portugal can recognise many things in the trailer.

It's the same level of models Arceus had, the magnamite was metallic and the gyarados' and Basculegions were scaled. The only pokemon models that was agreeable bad was Electrode's line.
I know not many people like seviper, but i am so hype to get to play him again. MY FAVORITE POKEMON IS BACK BABY!
Seviper's always been one of my favorites and I'm praying that he either gets a stat boost or a regional evolution this gen. The sabre-toothed snek deserves recognition!

I’ve seen people saying it’s based on Spain. People have noticed a flamenco dress in your character’s home and the colors of the Spanish flag during the (30’s I think) were scarlet and violet. Also the architecture of your house looks Spanish. The starters names are also Spanish
These starters tho, ngl at first they looked like fake starters to me, but definitely not in a bad way (and I feel like every new gen feels like that at first lol). The grass cat is adorable and might be my favorite at the moment, but the duck looks pretty saucy too. And the fire starter, why do I get the feeling it might be a BEAST when it evolves

The new region seem to be Spain... That plaza with the colorfull sun in the floor is the plaza mayor of madrid and the mozaic wall behind Pikachu is park grell, even the church with the pokeball in between 3 spires look similar to the " sacred family" church
Seeing it's based on spain i'd say the grass starter is a lynx and it'll stay on all fours, the duck will have naval themes and the crocodile looks apple themed but no idea, spaniards were the ones who introduced apples into america but i doubt that's of relevance. I'm pretty sure we'll also get a gaudi inspired lizard pokemon, like 99% sure, i'll also add a new dark type bat pokemon to my prediction.
The fire-type looks like an apple 😄 Maybe Fire/Grass. Apple look might be based on the snake in the bible, a snake did tempt Eve to eat an "apple" Water-type looks like it's going to look like a Spanish conquistador because of it's cap-like hair. Might be even based on Don Quixote? Grass type most likely will look like a sabertooth. Maybe Grass/Rock where the fans will be rock-like.

@@vulcanryl9776 curiously, the existence of the fire starter can be justified, in Portugal they found the first remains of Iberosuchus which belongs to a popular family of crocodiles that could gallop. The one that makes the most sense would have to be from South America is the duck referring to when they were taken to Europe, It would make sense to me that the duck would evolve to some design related to explorer, captain, pirate etc.
Longshot prediction: the duck is based on the famous Spanish Navy and one of the evolutions will be named Admallard (Admiral + Mallard)

I've seen the presents live, but there is something that i did not hear mentioned in the predictions, but i'd live to see pokemon make it, even though my hopes are extremely low: pokemon legends system, but for pokemon ranger. The pokemon ranger series being focused on the wild side of pokemon, also more on capturing than the fights,etc. Fits perfectly with the 3d open world tone of the legends system

I think along with the other symbolism in the name, Scarlet & Violet might be supposed to harken back to Red & Blue. But whereas those games started the formula of Pokémon, Scarlet & Violet are going to usher in a ‘new age’ & formula for the series.

Rewatching this gave me new (or slightly new) understanding on something. Some people think that this is "too soon" for this. Not realizing that Pokémon Sword and Shield came out in 2019, three whole years have passed since then. It most likely it doesn't seem like that because of Covid happening and the Diamond and Pearl remakes and Legends: Arceus.
Grass cat straight up looks like Zorua and Litten’s cousin. I hope it ends up a grass/dark just so it fits in with the homies.
