  • So, who’s here in 2022 and still being blown away by this absolute masterpiece of music? Update March 2023 - Wow. I am blown away by call the comments, and to see how many people come here to listen to this, masterpiece. I thought this would be a good moment to explain why this means so much to me. I lost my dad to cancer in 2013, and he was a huge Pink Floyd fan, but I didn’t like Floyd when he was alive, too stuck in my metal ways. When he passed away, I looked through his record collection so I could have him close to me, and I discovered bands that blew my mind, like Pink Floyd. One day last year this song came on whilst I was taking my mother shopping, and she started to cry because this song was one of their favourites, it was a heartbreaking and beautiful moment. To this day I wish I could go back and talk to my old man about bands, especially Pink Floyd, his experiences hearing from the first time and seeing them live, I really wish I could have that moment with him. Thanks for reading, and keep loving this masterpiece my parents love so much. Miss you old man x

  • When I was in rehab trying to get my life back from the crumbles it became this song brought me to tears as I started to confront the wreckage I brought to my life but also the wreckage I brought to the people around me. My marriage had fallen apart. My family wanted nothing to do with me. I was alone and afraid. I hadn't shown or felt emotion in so long I felt like a fraud and a shell of a man. This song helped to break me down while also giving me hope. Id like to say that was the only time I was in rehab but it took a few more years and a huge check to my ego and today I live a life I never dreamed possible. I have the love and respect of my family a career I love. To anyone feeling alone and afraid or stuck balls deep in a rabid addiction just know there is always hope. I know it doesn't feel like it but pray for the strength to endure. I prayed for death. Heroin is a hell of a drug. I don't know you, but I love you with all of my heart. Pray for guidance pray for humility and you will find the strength. No more turning away.

    • Damn brother that hit hard. Been struggling with depression for awhile and only now am I understanding the pain many others go through on a daily basis and why the suicide rate among young men like myself is so high. It’s because of how alone the world makes you feel. All it takes is a little bit of empathy from someone else to lift you out of that dark place. But that’s too much to ask of the world. Not for me. No more turning away.

You don't get out of a situation like that with another addiction. Find that new addiction, whether it be making yourself as healthy as possible, working a job you care about, throw yourself into your family. Religion. It doesn't matter, long as you find it. Whatever it takes.

  • On the turning away From the pale and downtrodden And the words they say Which we won't understand Don't accept that what's happening Is just a case of others' suffering Or you'll find that you're joining in The turning away It's a sin that somehow Light is changing to shadow And casting its shroud Over all we have known Unaware how the ranks have grown Driven on by a heart of stone We could find that we're all alone In the dream of the proud On the wings of the night As the daytime is stirring Where the speechless unite in a silent accord Using words, you will find, are strange Mesmerised as they light the flame Feel the new wind of change On the wings of the night No more turning away From the weak and the weary No more turning away From the coldness inside Just a world that we all must share It's not enough just to stand and stare Is it only a dream that there'll be No more turning away?

There's Guitarist out there like Hendrix, Young etc classed as great guitarists but which i never understood why but when you hear Gilmour play solo's. He tells a story you can all relate to. He puts you in the moment. Is there a better performance then this from any other guitarist... I think not!!!

They are so special to me, it would take me hours to explain the ways. They have saved my life when I was at my lowest and I owe a lot to this spectacular band of genius. Any body else out there feel me on this? It’s so inexplicable to me, cause I just don’t have the words to place how they make me feel. Especially the soaring guitar, I am admittedly in LOVE with the amazingly talented David Gilmour 💚

He is a personification of Jesus, a man who can change your life in better through music. He speaks about love and pain through his music, teaching you that in life you have to love and stay in armony with the great gift of life given by God, even though sometimes life can stress you. THIS SONG brings tears to my eyes The lyrics changed me 50 years ago and I never looked down upon a homeless person or a person in need throughout my life and I offer what I can. • I once thought that a combination of backup singers and instrument playing could never make me cry. Yet here I am, once again, in tears listening to David Gilmour magic, incredible backup singers and the rest of the band complementing them perfectly. This music is sonically beautiful. Incredible composition. An absolute masterpiece
