    • Indeed, even the Mercedes', it makes sense for a brand to sponsor that kind of thing. And Mercedes makes all sorts of utility vehicles (G wagon, vans, trucks, unimog,...) so it actually makes a lot of sense. What car brand wouldn't love to put up add campaigns with their cars flanked by dinosaurs?

    • How would such an epic park on a caribbean island even be built and maintained without epic loads of sponsoring cash??? Hammond alone probably went completely bankrupt, building the park the first time, and then rebuilding it the second time, only stopping when his grandchildren needed to inherit at least a few dollars from his remaining pocket change. On top of that, paying workers to build NEW paddocks and fences all the time, as well as affording the constant shunting of electricity, flowing water, and cable television to the hotel rooms, the probably exhorbitant cost of paying high-caliber geneticists to clone new dinosaurs from fossil DNA, and keeping them coming to replace the dying models... not to mention feeding literal THOUSANDS OF PARK VISITORS ON A DAILY BASIS... No single rich person ever born, not even Rockefeller, could permanently support a park like Jurassic Park. He would need at least SOME corporate help. Or perhaps the United States Government. Either way, "Product Placement" with hundreds of different corporate sponsors was probably the absolute cheapest way they could pull this miracle park off in the first place.

    • Same can be said about a lot of movies Like that was always one of the complaints I hated hearing about someones dislike of a movie. "Oh it has a bunch of product placement, hurr durr" Like no fucking shit. If the story is taking place in our world, whether its futuristic or not, hell even a parallel universe of ours, like you are going to see product placement. We see it daily in real life ourself, we just tend to ignore most of it. Plus keep in mind, some of that product placement is due to having extra money given to the directors to make the movie which can lead to much bigger and better things that they couldnt have done before

I love the raptor relationship as imo it adds a personality to the Raptors but also keeping their menacing demeanor. The characters whilst not as interesting as the first, never made me want to tear my eyes, ears and brain out of my skull (I'M LOOKING AT YOU JP 3). And come on, the I rex is just awesome. • That mosasoar was much bigger than a blue whale

      @JGreen444@JGreen4444 жыл бұрын
    • @@JGreen444 No it was not, it’s just portrayed much bigger in the movie. In reality the blue whale is the biggest creature to ever live on this planet according to volume and weight I think. (I don't know 100% I have to look it up again, but I'm pretty sure it’s both) The Mosasaurus was one of the biggest carnivorous things to have ever lived but nowhere near as big as showed here. Beside it might not even be the largest carnivore to have ever lived as there are other prehistoric giants and the sperm whale is much heavier and about the same size as the top estimates of the Mosasaurus and a sperm whale is considered a carnivore. The lack of data forms a problem though as there isn't that much and so all things are estimates, although scientifically thought out, it’s still based one just a couple of incomplete specimen they dug up of which they might only have the mount or teeth or some other incomplete remnants. I actually watched a vid on it which seemed quite well researched (it might have been of one of the major documentary makers as BBC or National Geographic I don't recall) but it said that with the change in water temp in the ocean the habitat for giant fish and reptiles but simultaneously the habitat for giant mammals grew as they thrive where the giant fish and reptiles wither, because of the difference between warm blooded (mammals) and coldblooded (reptiles and fish) creatures. So there was simply no longer a place for them it was no longer viable to be so big even though they might be the most dangerous animals in the sea if they returned today. So big coldblooded predators disappeared mostly or shrunk (I think) so there now is only the sharks (fish) and I think the Australian salt water crocodile it the largest aquatic lizard specie. The Mosasaurus and the Mosasaur in general all died with the other dinosaurs 65 million years ago with the Cretaceous-Paleogene extinction event (aftermath of "The Meteor") so this explanation doesn't actually concern the Mosasaurus and it’s just my recollection of what i saw like a couple of years ago on a yt video but I think it’s mostly accurate. I also just realised that you wrote "That mosasoar" and not "The" so actually you are not wrong beside that you spelled Mosasaurus wrong so whether its intended or just a typo or just not being a perfect English speaker, I don't know but I'll reply anyway beside keep in mind that neither am I a "perfect English speaker" or even a native English speaker and that the things I wrote are just my recollections of some info I found on the internet with no fact check what so ever. I probably made some major writing mistakes in spelling and grammatical as in definitely but I can’t be bothered to check it. Have a nice day

And she's NEVER mentioned again. Her death's up there with Eddie's in the brutality factor. She didn't even really do anything horrendous to warrant such a drawn-out, painful death.

    @SimonCleric@SimonCleric5 жыл бұрын
    • While I agree, there is a bit of an issue with internal consistency versus scientific consistency. In the first movie, Hammond says they clocked the T-Rex at 32 mph and there's also the scene where it catches up to the jeep, and this is that same T-Rex. So, as far as these movies are concerned, that's what people are saying about the heels scene. (Though, a good point brought up here is that it would take time to build up to that speed, which it didn't have here)

  • One thing that really sold me on this movie was the concept of respect and understanding between species. Owen knows the raptors are dangerous and makes it clear of that fact in every chance he gets. No, they're not tamed. No, they can't bc controlled. But the reason why they even vaguely listen to him is because of mutual respect. He's not treating them like dumb animals. He recognizes their strength and intelligence and consistently does his best to make that clear even to them. That's why the scene with T-Rex and Blue working together and not fighting afterwards makes such obvious sense to me. I-Rex killed all of Blue's siblings, so of course she wanted her dead. Also, T-Rex is used to bein top dog and tbh this new dinosaur is an abomination that I'm pretty sure neither of them wanted on their island. It was killing for no reason and that's not how any of the other dinosaurs have lived in the Jurassic Park lands. After I-Rex gets eaten, there's that look between the two dinosaurs. That "it's done, let's move on". They're not friends. But they worked together to destroy something worse. Then Blue and Owen have a similar exchange. A second of curiosity for Blue of "well what if I eat him", and he shakes his head, and Blue seems to understand that it's really time to just move on. Her family is dead and her pack is gone, but the reason for it isn't standing before her--it's already been eliminated and by none other than herself, a former enemy, and Owen (who may not be her equal but who had never treated her as inferior). And she runs off. Reminds me a lot of the guy in the first movie who never once underestimated the raptors. He knew they were wild animals, just like Owen, that could turn on him any instant. I really believe that the only reason Owen survived is because there was mutual respect. He didn't just respect Blue, she respected him too. He was part of her pack after all. It's similar to how even in the third movie the raptors didn't really want to kill the people, they just wanted their eggs back. These are vicious but sentient creatures that Owen strived I understand and treat with respect, and earned their respect in return.

When they turned to look at him with the I-Rex they didn't look malicious, or like they wanted to attack. It looked more like they were asking him 'Can we keep it', as in bring it into the pack and the soldiers jumped the gun and started shooting, which caused the raptors to actually turn and attack. Even when the the one, I think it was Charlie or Delta, sees him in the woods it doesn't attack. It acts like it's still acknowledging him and then BOOM the rocket hits it before we really find out.

  • The thing with Claire 'out running' Rexie is that she really didn't. The T-Rex was WALKING. It's been long established since the first movie that the T-Rex WALKS to check something out before going in attack mode. Now keep in mind that by the time Rexie is released from where she was being kept, there's been all sorts of noise and chaos going on, and no doubt new smells, and she probably saw some of the flying dinosaurs overhead. Keep in mind it's been going on ALL DAY because by the time she's let out it's dark. Which means she's had a whole day of Wtf-wondering so of course she wouldn't just dart out in a full sprint without knowing the situation. When Claire opens the paddock and leads Rexie out, the T-Rex is walking. That's why it seems like she could 'out run' a T-Rex in heels, because Claire was the only one of them running and the fact that she had to run to stay in front of Rexie's steps is clear indication that the dinosaur wasn't moving at a fast pace. I still thought it was stupid for her to stay in heels the whole movie, though. They throw off the body's balance and center of gravity, making injury via fall much more likely and are just NOT practical footwear (which is why men typically don't wear them).

    • It is dna from diferent species all mixtured and improved. It is thecnically a mutant. A mutant is not someone who was close to a nuclear reaction and got green, but someone whos dna was modified (by nature or man), and this thing was modifiead since the day it was concived on a laboratory.

    • just kinda bugged tho that rexy saw a raptor join the fight, and she teamed up with her? you think she'd see blue as yet another threat, i mean hey, she is still literally scarred from her last encounter from a raptor, she doesn't have fond memories of them 😂

      @teawrecks1243@teawrecks12435 жыл бұрын
    • I think she saw the raptor as a potential threat, but already had her hands full with the I-Rex to care at that moment. After that, she just go with the flow. After the fight, she was injuried, so she probably just wanted to fall back without another fight, and since the raptor wasn't attacking...

  • The moment when the door is opened by grey an the theme plays showing Mr. Hammonds dream finally realized made me tear up. His dream finally came true until Dr. Wu went crazy mode with the indominus.

    @iambutter2784@iambutter27843 жыл бұрын
    • I think John Hammond is the most tragic human character in the films. (Not the novels, in the books he was an asshole) Sure, he played God but he only wanted to bring the wonder of living Dinosaurs to the world. He wanted everyone to witness these magnificent animals. He was a good man with great ambition, sadly he was betrayed by almost everyone who he closely knew. His partner, Lockwood tried to clone humans behind his back which ended their friendship and must've caused emotional pain for Hammond. His original vision of Jurassic Park was ruined thanks to tbe greediness of Dennis Nedry and Lewis Dodgson. His own nephew, Peter Ludlow had him kicked out of the company which Hammond created. His friend, Simon Masrani betrayed his final wish of leaving the dinosaurs alone and decided to create another dinosaur park against Hammond's wishes. Masrani took Dinosaurs from Isla Sorna to populate Jurassic World and recaptured all the veteran dinosaurs on Nublar, including Rexy just to put back into cages. Remember! Hammond wanted the dinosaurs to live happily ever after at the end of the Lost World: Jurassic Park. His protege, Henry Wu bastardized and perverted his animals by creating hybrids like the Indominus Rex and Indoraptor, thus betraying Hammond's legacy. I hope Jurassic World: Dominion ends with the dinosaurs being saved and brought to an island where they live happily ever after, because only then will John Hammond truly rest in peace.

  • Interestingly the Mosasaur still wasn't as big as the Blue Whale IRL but they made her a lot bigger in the movie to look more intimidating (like 3x the size of the largest found fossil) and take on the I-Rex later, I like to pretend it was just more of InGen playing around and making the dinosaurs bigger and badder instead of just the film Dino design team though

    • also why did she jump so far out of the water, she risked getting beached. would have been better if she just grabbed the end of the i-rex's tail and slowly dragged her in, while the shot is focusing on the terror on the i-rex's face as she realizes that she isn't the top of the food chain after all 😂

      @teawrecks1243@teawrecks12435 жыл бұрын
    • TheEastieA: Yeah InGen definitely fudged with the size it. I went to see the skeleton of Bruce, the largest Mosasaur on display, at the Morden, Manitoba fossil exhibit, and he is only a bit bigger (in terms of length) than a large Killer Whale, so I can pretty confidently say that Jurassic World's Mosasaur is way bigger than IRL. That being said, I did think it looked really cool in the movie. I just wish it had gotten more screen time. Hopefully in the future they will consider making Jurassic World spin-offs, focused on different environments the creatures of these films live in. A Jurassic Ocean spin-off would be awesome, especially now that the Mosasaur is roaming around the world's oceans, and no I don't consider this a spoiler since it is in the trailer for Fallen Kingdom.

  • In South Dakota we sometimes have to dig a tunnel from the door to the top of the snow mounds just so we can shovel the entire mound out of the way. Not only that but we start getting snow as early as September and than get it as late as May the next year and after that we have buckets of rain for a month straight and finally we get the blistering heat until snow comes again. Long story short South Dakota is a hellscape no matter the time of year, so New England actually sounds nice right now. Also really great video, keep them coming.
