    • Very difficult to trust something like this when they say that acetaldehyde is produced in the gut, while it actually happens in the liver. And yes gut can refer to the abdomen but with the video showing the entrails that was clearly not what they meant. I hope that the deadmeat team takes another look at the sponsor since the product shouldn't have much of an effect on acetaldehyde production from alcohol.

  • The kill just works so well because it's such a slow build up, then throws in a fake shock moment before returning to normal for a bit. There's a cop seated so the viewer feels safe as does the nurse, but when she enters that room, he gets up and leaves. The long slow shot, the noise as she shuts the door (which I'm guessing was added in post so the killer could come through it) gives nothing away until she turns and walks. It's such an amazing moment that hits no matter how often you see it. Also, I wish there was a George C Scott satnav app as that voice would be amazing as you're driving: "Turn right I said!!!"

  • It wasn't mentioned here in the vid, but there's a moment where Brad Dourif's character, James Venamun, slyly mentions his work being 'child's play.' Intentional or not, it's a nice, subtle nod to his role as Charles Lee Ray/Chucky.

  • The Exorcist III is, imo, an excellent and underrated true sequel to what I consider to be the scariest movie of all-time. Everything, from Blatty's script and direction, to the cast and the acting itself is all really well done. Also, that jump scare in the hospital is iconic in so many ways and, like many, made me jump out of my skin the first time I saw it. Initially, I thought the moment in the room with the ice cracking in the glass and the patient was the big scare, but I was sorely mistaken. 😅

  • During the dream scene, the tarot cards that are laid out tell about the movie's climax. Judgment: Rite of Passage, maturing, reviewing, transition. The Emperor: Power, structure, stability, authority, father. The World: Integration, completion, options, wholeness, the earth, correction. The Devil: Attachments, restriction, commitment, limitations. Lined up in a 4 card spread is telling Wiliam what he'll have to face and that he'll be able to overcome it all. As all the cards are right side up. Meaning they have positive outcomes if he can see the signs in time. The devil card is last, so that will be the challenge Willam will have to face to bring out all the positive aspects of each card. While the Emperor card primarily relates to Dire, the other cards are about Willam overcoming the challenge of finding the murderer and solving the case. Side note: I don't really like doing tarot readings because of how structured they are. I stick with Oracle cards because they are more free-flowing. But for anyone curious about the cards and what they meant I hope this helps. ^^

  • I really like how the kills are mostly described and not shown. It really lets your mind wander and create something truly horrific. The Exorcist III is kind of like the OG Texas Chainsaw in that way. I just think it's a pretty cool horror technique.

  • This movie was my first introduction to Brad Douriff. I was 13 when I watched the Exorcist Part 3 and to this day, I still hold The Gemini Killer to be the single most terrifying, engrossing and powerful performance in a horror movie of all time.

  • I finally watched this movie in preparation for this very Kill Count. I knew of the infamous jump scare. It was spoiled for me well over a decade ago. I knew it was coming. I still yelled "JESUS CHRIST" when it happened. It's that well done. The movie itself is fantastic. What an underrated gem.

  • This movie does a great job of making the kills really unsettling using just descriptions alone, I think it does a better job than most really gory and explicit movies do honestly. The monologue Brad Dourif gives about how a decapitated head can continue to see for 20 seconds so he makes sure that the last thing that person sees is their own decapitated body is brutal.

  • One of the greatest lines in movie history to be honest. "Bill now, shoot now, kill me now!" And silence as the gunshots ring out. The impact of that moment cannot be understated - it's the end of 15 years of misery for all those involved in Pazuzu's nightmare.
