Jumanji Welcome To The Jungle was a surprise! Although I guess I'm rarely surprised by The Rock anymore. I'm sure not everyone loved it, but here's everything right with Jumanji 2...or Jumanji 1.2?
Next week a movie a handful of you have been literally begging for, for years.

    • Whale Sharko I wouldn’t say he was the only one that represented his character. I think they all did a great job, but the movie did give Jack the most to work with which makes sense considering he’s probably the best comedic actor of the group. Kevin Hart’s funny but he basically plays himself in every role. Nothing wrong with that ofc, it definitely worked with this film.

  • Hup, hippos are terrifying when you find out that they 1. Are omnivorous, meaning they eat vegetables AND meat depending on their mood 2. They frequently *lick* crocodiles and crocodiles sit perfectly still and let it happen 3. They are *extremely* territorial about their water and boats in their _domain_ sometimes piss them off

    @stephanginther9051@stephanginther90515 жыл бұрын
    • Also, they stand at the bottom of lakes and rivers for hours and occasionally just jump or "bob" up to the top, and when they are down at the bottom they are nearly invisible. So any body of water could just have 50 tons of fury and foot long teeth waiting to either pop up and flip your tiny boat, and freak out on you for being in their territory, or wait for you to venture down there on your own unsuspectingly and never see the light of day again. Just knowing that there could be an entire herd of hippos just waiting at the bottom of the dark water, ready to murder anyone and anything that comes near is super scary. It's why they kill so many people! Because people just paddle across a body of water, a hippo pops up and hits a boat and gets scared and snaps it in half, people fall in the water and panic stirring up the rest and it becomes a feeding frenzy. Hippos are absolutely terrifying and as savage as they come. They kill more people than any other living thing in Africa aside from other humans or disease.

  • Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle is a living lesson of not giving up on your movies, or at least temper your expectations. On the surface, without watching it, this movie had almost no right to exist. It looks like a retread of an old movie based on a short children's book but with popular actors, including a few who famously star in some pretty bad movies (the Rock, Kevin Hart and Jack Black have their ups and downs with their careers) but this movie turned out to be one of the best movies of last year, taking all the dumb cliches and silly tropes and actually leaning into them to simulate a low quality 90s game and actually make the experience better. I swear, when those NPCs talk I could almost see the text boxes. Good movie. Gives me hope that things like this can still be made in today's world.

  • What I adore about this movie is that they did their own thing with it. When they announced they were doing a remake, I had immediately assumed they were going to do a redux of the original movie...sans Robin Williams, which would not only be a travesty to the film itself, but also almost seems like a pretty disrespectful move on their part. Kind of like when they said they were redoing the Labyrinth after David Bowey died, and everyone got pissed off. Then turn around a year later, a trailer for this came out. Most people were criticizing it for transferring it to a video game, about it all being about the jokes and how it'd just be super dated after a few years. And I absolutely loved the concept. Not only was it a unique spin, but it didn't try to reinvent the original, or replace Robin. I genuinely think, whether you like it or not, this is the best way they could have done a Jumanji remake.

But while Martha hides her insecurities through snarking and putting down others, Spencer doesn't hide his, but is also incredibly fearful and from what I understand is germaphobic as well. Bethany says to Martha ''you're a babe, own it!'' girl positivity. and really in most movies the characters keep bickering for no reason until the last minute when they have NO OTHER choice, but these characters actually talked about their feelings. Spencer and Martha confess their feelings before the final climax even begins. Spencer and Fridge put aside their differences by talking about their feelings too. So I guess I'm just winning: honesty and communication p.s. also the fact that they had Bethany (as Sheldon) give CPR to Alex and no one said a thing about it other than that it was brave. good movie!!

  • I like to think that the Jumanji game is actually a tool for teaching wayward youths to straighten up their acts. The game calls to those that need to be guided on a better path. Although the game is helping it seems to not have any compunctions about punishing the players in the most severe ways possible, but if you win then all the negative things are undone. In the first movie only Alan and Sarah retain their memories when time is rewound and none of the damage caused by the game is left. This gives them both the chance to have a lasting impact over their lives and the lives of others, namely saving Peter and Judy's parents. In the second movie all the kids are released after the win and placed back into the moment they were taken by the game but retain their memories. This indicates to me that the game wants to correct the behavior of troubled youths, but will be a harsh taskmaster about it.

It’s a cursed sentient game and when it realized it wasn’t going to get played as it was it transformed itself into something that it’s new owner would play. So it make sense there would be remnants of Alan in the game even though it changed into a video game it’s still the same world and locations Alan lived in for those 20 years. The game didn’t change the world it just changed how the game plays so it had to make the jungle that’s already inside the game the word of the video game.

Putting nostalgia for the movie and anything Robin Williams aside, I can see that it's still good, but it hasn't aged as well as I wanted. I wanted to go into this movie and say that it tried it's best but messed up everything by making it a video game. However, it makes sure to honor what came before it, update it for a more recent crowd IN A WAY THAT MAKES SENSE, and, most importantly, had fun making an enjoyable movie. Does it have it's problems? Yes, but if you can make me like a Jack Black role so much that I'm going "he was born to play that role," you done good. And yes, I think Jack Black was born to play a bratty teenage girl.

    • At my local cinema they advertised as a completely family friendly movie. Like, they had posters saying things like “School Holiday Fun” with a bunch of movies like Coco and Ferdinand underneath.

  • I went to this movie not expecting to hands down love it as much as I do. You are spot on about the actors' layered characterizations and the familiarity and respect the movie shows of adventure video games. And kudos to your editing! Well done, man. I'd like to see your take on "Galaxy Quest". Subscribed ü

  • Funny thing about you bringing up 'The Rundown' is that it's international title is actually *'Welcome to The Jungle.'* Also I would love to see you make an 'Everything GREAT About The Rundown'.

  • When we went to go see jumanji my brother deadass said ‘how’s they get the girl in the guys body’. The explaining that Jack black was just an amazing actor really was amazing. Also when I saw Karen Gillan the way I was like AMYYY and no matter how brilliant the Rock is, Rory beats all

  • this entire video was mildly entertaining, but in no way made me want to watch the film, till the recap, and you showed Hart saying "Climbing is one his strengths" "Ah, gotcha" "cake makes me explode" which finally made me laugh and now ill watch the film.
