She confessed after seeing it on TV many years later and said “I thought people forgot about that.” The neighbour Faith later said that the killer looked a bit cartoonish as if it was a woman in men’s clothing. Margaret confessed to dressing up in men’s clothing and shooting Taylor because he had incriminating information which could be used against her. This was at a time when scandals were coming out about people in Hollywood and involved in film making.

    • @Sarah Moore Thank you! I seriously had to pause the video at 8 minutes because I just got so sick of it. All the visuals are either too detail specific (pink nightgown) that it just seems like a freaking episode of law and order, or they're too unrelated that I can't focus on the story Ryan's telling. I love the original format, where they'll just show semi-related pictures. It's easy to remember names when you can connect them to a specific stock-photo image. And it's easy to follow the timeline because there's generally an actual timeline photo. I even tried semi-shutting my laptop and closing my eyes so I could just listen, BUT THE DAMN GUN SHOT JUST KEEPS GOING OFF LIKE IT'S SUPPOSED TO MAKE IT SCARIER BUT IT JUST KEEPS TAKING ME OUT OF THE STORY.

  • Despite the mother having the most motive, I just don't think she's the killer. There's just too much that doesn't make sense. 1. The fact that a man was seen (possibly acting suspicious) but nobody saw a woman 2. what the studio execs chose to take and not take. The stuff they took/didnt take doesnt make a whole lot of sense if the mom was the killer. I honestly think the idea that Taylor was gay makes the most sense. The execs would have taken anything that alluded to a man being there, and placed the nightgown to insinuate a woman was there. Somebody could have been sent to kill him, or just decided they had had enough. This would also explain why Sands was being so coy and mocking (though i dont think hes the killer). I think the killer is someone not even listed here

    @TheGeekyandproud@TheGeekyandproud4 жыл бұрын
    • I'm inclined to agree. It's certainly possible that the reason the letters were never released were because he could have potentially written confidential details about his sexuality to her, which would explain why she was also so adamant about them not being a couple and people getting the "wrong idea". I'm almost positive that nightgown was planted, especially because that quote about the nightgown "probably belonging to a woman" seems off, considering that would typically be the obvious conclusion, and was probably to divert attention from his sexuality. Also, the fact that he abandoned a family fits REALLY well here. It would make sense that a gay man wouldn't want to be married to a woman. Overall, there are a lot of patterns that certainly suggest this.

    • Technically it would be a paradox, but I thought about the same thing :P

      @Maureeeeen27@Maureeeeen274 жыл бұрын
    • @Zea Alanis Well Irony could also work in this situation, as irony is when something happens that is the opposite of what was expected. A paradox is a sentence that seemingly contradicts itself or that seems unlikely, but when looked into, is true. An oxymoron is basically the same as a paradox, except the words are right next to each other, like 'bittersweet' or 'deafening silence'. Irony is more of an action or something that takes place, which could also be applied to this situation as well. Whether it is a paradox or an example of irony is up for debate. I'm not completely sure :P

  • Someone pointed out Taylor's son. What if his son showed up and pretended to forgive and embrace his father, and then shot him? The man asking about him in the store could have been his estranged son wanting to make sure he had the right place. Being estranged is a pretty solid motivation, and few people knew about his son so he wouldn't even be on the police's radar.

  • Ok so my theory: Mary went to his apartment in her pink nightgown to seduce Taylor. The mom catches wind. The mom sends the DA to take care of it. Mary comes in, drops the nightgown, throws herself at Taylor. Taylor struggles to keep Mary at arms length as she's throwing herself at him (thus explaining the raised arms). The DA comes in, sees this happening, misinterprets the scene as Taylor ravaging Mary, shoots Taylor, and smuggles Mary out of the apartment.
