OL did a good job staying with the cat. He was running 125-130 when the cat went up to 150. In further news, a 43 Outerlimits set the world record for V bottoms at 180.41 running Merc 1650s. A 44MTI ran 193 with Sterling 1550s which I thought was incredible speed for the power involved.

RPM not so high under 6000 ... awesome. In 80s 9000 rpm motors would blow up. 575 or 625 BBC supercharged? We had 496 BBC mercruiser ssp 3 back then 120 was the goal.

Question on the gauge on the right which is not the speedometer but the other that show’s measuring FT... what is this is it trim or what is it measuring I can not figure it out and it being a negative all the time makes me think it’s the drive trim but heck IDK lol someone tell me I’m ignorant on this situation! It’s elevation, which is prone to inaccuracy. Since the river feeds into the ocean the average elevation above “0” is about 50’. Don’t know if there are any big power dams down stream that raise the level of the of river. Marine nav systems usually don’t give altitude, they give water depth, but I think the boat out runs the return signal from the bottom at 100mph. The guys at Garmin never anticipated people looking at water depths over 100mph. You either know it or you don’t know your course ahead of these men behaving badly. Wish I was there. Toured the Skater plant in Douglas, Mi about 20 years ago. Almost got thrown out. Too many questions.

I got a look at the bow cause I was also wondering and it looks like a V bottom. A 43 OL set the top speed of Vs with a 180.47 pass on LOTO. Had Merc 1650s. Boat was laid up very light.

That OL runs! Sterlings with dual Whipple Sc on E85 Run that day was about 130 miles long and burned about 175 gallons of fuel

@@rogerhale6404 both rigs are badass. That 388 if it has 1350s in it most likely will top 170mph. I'm sure that outerlimits can easily get 150mph. That's smokin in any rig. Especially in a V. Nothing like a cat tho.
