Content of today shows the performance of livestock guardian dogs against predators in different areas of EuroAsia continent
In the first clip a livestock guardian dogs is chasing a wolf . It's a Illyrian Shepherd dog who detect a wolf and chasing away of livestock
In second face off livestock guardian dog of central Asia facing a Persian leopard which is the biggest subspecies of leopard . The dogs detect the cat and try to chase away but end up having a physical confrontation with this predator . After a while dogs managed to drive away the cat .
Polar bear in artic is present and ca be a serious threat for people in this area. Gardian dogs detect the Polar Bear and with their courage drive it away.
Blue bear in Himalaya has to deal with Tibetan Mastiffs which are excellent guardian dogs

    • Their strength is greatly increased by working as a team. United they pose almost an indomitable force. Most wild animals.. especially solitary predators can't risk injuries. Truly a case of me, myself& I alone to be relied upon. That's a slow & suffering death by starvation if unable to hunt due to an injury. Instinctively the solitary predators know this & often choose not to engage even though much stronger. A bite on the paw could be lethal, if it gets infected & it's over.

  • I can't help the feeling of needing to help the dogs against the polar bear, the second I saw the dog flying in the air I would have gone charging in with a weapon or gun. I probably would have gotten hurt but at least I didn't stand there to watch my dog die a horrible death.

  • you don't need a ppwerful dog that can beat wild animals because tame dogs have their master humans that will also protect them if needed. tamed dogs are meant to warn human masters for dangers or tracking/sniffing for a human hunter.

  • This dogs are relentless and have probably saved many lives of livestock and humans. Do the people in these far out regions have access to some sort f firearms, like a rifle or shotgun to protect themselves and other humans? I know in Alaska and Canada (although Canadians are losing a lot of their gun rights now) people have firearms in case the polar bears or any other animal gets too aggressive but what about places like Tibet and other parts of the world?

    • Take the spiked collars off and at least 3 different wolf types can beat a Kangal. The Canadian Timberwolf will destroy the Kangal 1 on 1. An Alaskan wolf will also win 8/10. A mature, well-fed Eurasian wolf also wins 7-8/10. So does a northern rocky mountain wolf. I'd say a tibetan mastiff is a much more difficult opponent to the aforementioned wolves than a Kangal.

  • That's not true. I personally watched two of my hunting dogs kill a murderous Florida panther. It was an extra extra large male that had been killing dogs and domestic cats and apparently eating them. 1 Pitbull and 1/2 Weimaraner half bullmastiff. These two dogs are used to dealing with 300lb wild boar. They didn't run the panther off they killed it.

    • yes you are correct it feels like the whole earth is burning up. i live in the rocky mountains and all the ponds and streams are going dry . I'm 56 and never seen it so dry . no spring peepers either. very sad !

    • They are a very versatile animal, that isn't given enough credit for adaptability. They adapted to the ice, that's a phenomenal feat in itself to go where none had gone before in the ages..they will do what's necessary to survive, find that path of existence, as they did before.

  • While guardian dogs are great for protection against unwanted wild life contacts, YOU ABSOLUTELY DO NOT call out a dog when you see a bear. Just recently in Canada, 2 people were killed during a hike. Most times, bears of any kind will not be confrontational to humans unless it's a mother bear protecting her cubs. Since bears do not see human as food. However, with the dogs barking and stepping to the bear, it will trigger a response as the bears will feel threatened since dogs resemble wolves in the wild life.

    • Exactly. The videos you see on youtube are just the ones people choose to upload because it doesnt show the dogs being hurt. You arent seeing the reality of the situation, and all the instances where the bear kills the dogs.
