Amazing how all those little details added to the hull make this really come alive! well done!
Thanks Martin...yes...it does make the difference and I love painting and detailing these parts.
Инструмент покрашен как положено 👍👍👍
Спасибо, мне нравится такая живопись. Спасибо, что продолжаете смотреть и следить, это много значит для меня.
Great looking Tiger, Thanks Tony!
Hi Gordon, many thanks for watching and commenting, glad that you are enjoying my build and hope you continue to follow my progress.
That’s one fine looking beast
Thank you, wait until you hear it start up...next video covers the option packs for motion etc. Hope you continue to watch and follow my builds.
You say your not a pro...Haha... what a fantastic build and video series...I'm very envious, maybe one day.
Hi Brian, thank you, but this was the first time of building a kit like this. I have skills honed over many years of building static models which definitely helped here. I loved every minute of this build and also enjoying my new build the M26 tank. I do hope you manage to take the plunge one day and get one of these...the build is so addictive.
Very nice Tony especially with the onboard tools and I see what you were saying about the turret not looking the part until you took the grinder out and fixed it two thumbs up your tank is coming out beautifully
Thanks Daniel. Your kind comments and continued support is very much appreciated. yes, another thing I guess Armortek leave up to the builders discretion, but glad I did it as it worked out well.
Tank looks awesome!!!
Thank you for your positive comments and continued support. It is, as always very much appreciated.
Look's great, well done.
Thank you. Very much appreciated.
You're a very talented person
That's very kind of you to say Joe. Thanks for your continued support and comments.
Beautiful!!!!!
Thank you for watching and commenting. I am super glad you are following my build.
awesome ... thanks for sharing.
Thank you Alasdair, much appreciated.
Well done Tony. I will leave a post when my M26 arrives, but you will probably get yours first as I am in the states. So we will be probably be building them concurrently, so I will look forward to your M26 build as well.
Hi Ray, thanks again and yes please...not sure when they are planning to ship, but I suspect mid or late March..I am super excited about the M26...I am already thinking markings for the famous Eagle 7 perhaps? Have you seen the M26 manufacturing videos from Armortek? I have them as a playlist if you have not. Have a great weekend.
I’m a novice in military tanks at this point. So I have no the idea about markings. I’ve always been fascinated with tanks and built a few in the past so I am starting to learn things as I watch all the videos. And yes, I have watched all the videos on the manufacturing many times! I retired two years ago so this will be a great project for me. I’ve done a lot of RC stuff in the past, so I’m not too worried about the electronics.
Inspired me…..yes you certainly have. I’ve also been binge watching ECA and am amazed how much detail can be achieved. It’s a pity Armourtec do not have Tiger kits for sale at present. Cheers Tony and here’s looking forward to the next video.
Many thanks Warren your comments are very much appreciated. Yes, they only have limited runs of each tank and not sure whether they plan to re-release the Tiger. The next medium/heavy tank is the M26 Pershing, which I have also ordered and await delivery. Hope you continue following my builds.
Looks excellent, really big
Hi Malcolm, thank you...yes, nearly 1.5m in length including the gun barrel...it is a beast to move around, but I cover this in my next couple of videos. Hope you continue to watch and follow.
@@tonys_workshop yes i would get 1/10 because 1/6 is way too large and heavy, but it's still very interesting...but 1/16 is too small when you take it outside
Loving it
Thanks mark, much appreciated.
I've been looking forward to it since the beginning. I got to the final coat of paint. I hope it continues after this. 当初から楽しみにしています。 最終の塗装までいきましたね。 この後も続くことを期待しています。
Hi and thank you for continuing to watch and follow my build. There is a lot more to come. The next two videos show the tank coming to life and some driving fun. I then go on to scratch build a 1:6 Scale bridge to drive my tank over before I start the build on the next Armortek tank.
Looking great! Nice work. One observation! Your Ball mount MG needs rotating 180 degrees. The hole (gunners sight) should be on the other side.
Thanks Bob. Duly noted. I can amend that next time I undergo some maintenance. Thanks for watching and commenting, it is very much appreciated.
Great job Tony…. much more than a novice. I think you’ve unlocked master builder status. 🏅
Wow and thanks for commenting, that is very kind, but I have a long way to go. Hope you continue to follow this project and the others I have in the pipeline.
У нас в России ,мужик сделал Т 34 . Чуть побольше . Рекомендую посмотреть... С уважением Сергей.😊
Спасибо Сергей. Привет из Великобритании. Это отличный комплект, и я бы хотел его собрать. Thank you Sergei. Greetings from the UK. That is a great kit and would love to build it.
@@tonys_workshop счастья и удачи дорогой друг умелец!!! Спасибо за внимание ко мне...👍🐻
Всегда пожалуйста.
Looking absolutely brilliant Tony!
Thanks Erik, that means a lot. Hope you continue to follow my builds.
Again superb Tony. Interesting to see how the options pack go.
Hi Malcolm, thanks again for the great comment. Option Pack vid up soon. Have a great weekend.
Very nice ,loved the Tiger rolling off your lift. Smiled when you said you liked the painting of the tools ,that's a part I don't like doing. Going to be good when you put the packs in ,I had an rc beetle and put the servos wires in wrong connection but worked it out in the end .What made you choose 101st SS Heavy ? 502 nd heavy Mammut for me lol. Obviously goes without saying uber welljell Tony . Looking forward to next blog.😎😎👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Good morning Steve. Yes the dreaded electronics! Actually it was reasonably straight forward as Armortek label everything and made it"plug & play" To be honest the only decals I could find in this scale was what is now on the tank. It took me ages to find, but managed to get them from a supplier in Germany, but they don't make to order so being impatient, I went for what was available. Have a great weekend and thank you for your continued support.
Fantastic build! Congratulations!🎉
Thank you and thanks also for watching and commenting.
Yes. excellent work Tony. The quality comes with the detail! Looking forward to seeing the electrics going in and how the additional kits are set up. Good luck with that, it will be a breeze! 😉
Good morning Johnny, thank you for your continued support and very kind comments. The option packs are actually quite easy as Armortek make them "plug & play" the biggest challenge was binding the radio set with the receiver unit...I gave up and went to my local model shop in the end. I cover this on my next video. Have a great weekend.
Looks great! Love the MG34 paint work, nicely done. Looking forward to your segment on installing the electronics and motion packs.
Thank you and thanks for continuing to watch and follow. Next video covers the option packs. Have a great weekend.
You're awesome Tony! I've been looking into armortek for some time. I usually work on 1/35 models and have a 1/16 rc Abrams, but I'm no-way a pro. But finding your channel and your awesome laid-back-small talk way of doing things remind me alot of my late father (who got me into model building when i was a kid). Just the way i think modeling should be. I know you dont consider yourself a pro but i really like your clever solutions and a real great paint job! Now I don't have the funds at the moment for a "toy" like this (wife will never agree like yours did lol). But I will definitely save up for one. You really showed that the hefty price actually is worth the money. Think a Pershing would fit me. Thanks again and I'll send you a virtual pint (or maybe a real one one day). Love from Sweden.
Hi and thanks for your lovely comments. I am so glad you found my channel. What a very sweet thing to say about your Dad. Despite having never done anything like this, and having some reservations, I actually felt comfortable talking on camera as I imagined and hoped that like minded enthusiasts would find it interesting. I really hope you do go for one of these as the entire experience from opening the boxes, removing and studying every part and right through the build, you feel that you are handling some amazing engineering and the quality is second to none. I too am looking at the M26 Pershing Tank. I have some M26 manufacturing videos on my playlist from Armortek. If you have not seen these yet, please check them out...the turret casting is awesome! I have paid the deposit and await an estimated shipping date. Once I have this, I will also film the entire build. Thanks again for watching, commenting and hope you continue to follow my builds. Defo take you up on that beer :-)
Well done! If you chose one of the other Armour tech models, what would it be?
Hi John, Thanks for your continued support. I have ordered and await a shipping date for the M26 Pershing. If you have not already seen this, please check out the playlist on my channel for some Armortek released manufacturing videos of this amazing tank. As soon as I have received this I will be building and filming the entire process.
Hello Tony. Great job. Very happy to see your Tiger finished. It looks like the markings are Wittmanns company commanders panzer from the 101st Heavy Panzer Battalion when he was in Normandy June 44. Have you thought of a camouflage pattern for your Tiger? There are many photos of this unit for reference, as this was a very famous formation with many pictures. Well done!
Hi Steve, thank you for your continued support. I have not yet decided on what camo scheme to go for and do plan at some point to add this, but in the meantime I am happy with how the Tiger is looking and enjoying driving it. My next video shows the addition of the option packs and bringing this incredible model to life. Hope you continue to follow.
Try a little video showing all the tools you had to use to complete your build. I would be very interested in seeing exactly what it took. I know that the room and lift was imperative, but always wanted to see all the tools that it took. Cheers
@@stevezalkowsky5381 Hi Steve, that is a good idea...and definitely one I will do within the next few weeks. I am just finishing off my scratch built 1/6 scale bridge and filming that to upload when the tank is complete. Once that is done, I will do a video about the tools required and this will link in perfectly with the planned M26 Tank build which follows.
Hi Tony cracking job on the tiger ,did the kit come with the transfers .
Hi Steve, thanks. No, I found these from a supplier on eBay. Took some searching and they were not very expensive. took about 2 weeks to arrive from Germany. it was the closest thing I could find to the real markings. Thank you for your continued support.
Morning Tony she looks absolutely superb bud. What paints are you using for all the tools? I am primarily a Tamiya man however I have used other makes on occasion. Just a thought anything like painting and detailing show in real time people love watching the whole process and help others on different techniques. How long did you wait for you're option paks? I bet fully loaded the tank must weigh in around 120kg!!!
Good morning Gary, thanks again for your positive support. I tend to use Vallejo Air Extreme Acrylic Paint, as it works very well with my air brush, but equally well when brush applied. Thanks for the tip, I will definitely do this on my Pershing when it comes to the detailing. So, I ordered the option packs in April last year and they arrived late in July. Apparently, there was a problem with delivery to Armortek of some of the electronics but this suited my time table. I have no idea of the total weight, but Im sure Armortek stated net weight was 110kg, without the option packs and the batteries so its up there around 120-140kg? Put it this way, this beast can not be moved by hand :-)
@Tony's Workshop morning Tony that's what Armortek have said to me about the packs Time it's taking me to build the tank I don't think i will be ready for them ever at this rate🤣 I have a guy who paints all my 1/16 tiagen tanks he uses vallejo and achieves a stunning finish with them. My panther will go to him primed then he can work his magic. Blimey that is a serious weight I better not drive mine over the misses new patio probably scratch the hell out of it if it weighs in around 100 odd kilos!! The tiger was 10 tons heavier than the panther so not surprised yours weighs in at that amount. Have you see the latest footage from Armortek regarding the persching? Stunning hopefully you will get it soon looks like they are pretty close to finishing it. They've also released a series 1 land-rover which will be pretty cool. Look forward to the next installment bud, have a cracking week.
Hi Gary, I have seen your progress on the forum...wow! your build is super impressive...I am under strict supervision by my missus when I drive mine around on the grass. she stands there with the virtual rolling pin ready!!!! Thats why I am looking to set up a tank range at some point hopefully later this year. I did put it out on the forum and it received a lot of support...There is a guy in Aus who has built an incredible range..worth checking out..I put it out on the events section on the forum. These tanks are heavy, really heavy but they should be for the cost and I love this because you can feel the quality when building...I have watched everything Armortek have put out on the M26 and created a playlist for them...what a tease :-) I could watch the machining for hours! maybe I need therapy :-) yes I have seen the land rover and really tempted, but super excited about the M26. Have a great weekend mate and thank you for your continued support and kind comments.
Great looking build, i am so envious! While the early Tigers rear deck is complicated thanks to the air filtration system it does have one thing the later Tank doesn't. The Tool box on the rear wall. I don't know why but i have always liked that feature and it is something i'd miss. I don't know if the tool box was missing from all the mid period Tanks but i know it was from later war tanks. Another thing, the tracks on your Tank don't seem to have the cleats of later war tracks. Is that a choice you made or is that how Armortek provided them?
Hi Mik, Thanks again for watching and commenting. Yes, I also liked the tool box detail, but this is not on the late variant. I did consider buying an after market toolbox kit but decided that it would look out of place. The tracks are sent as part of the kit with no alternative options to choose.
@@tonys_workshop Thanks for the answer. I look forwards to the rest of the build and insyallation of the various packs. I'd be a lot more confident in building a Tank now.... until i get to the electronics. I am no good with elastictrickery.
@@miklawson211 Hi Mik, that is exactly how I felt, but Armortek make it plug and play. The only trouble I had was trying to bind the receiver to the transmitter. I gave up and went to my local model shop and they sorted this out for me. The Armortek forum is also very helpful with setting up. The actual install of the option packs is so straight forward and so too are the plug in electronics. You would be absolutely fine...I cover this in my next video.
Apologies if you have mentioned this before, i just recently found your videos. But do you plan to weather this at some point? Or keep it in this "factory fresh" look?
Hi, thank you for finding my channel and thanks also for watching and commenting. Not sure at this stage, I really like the look of the tank as it currently stands. The great thing about this sort of kit, is that I can do this at any point in the future without detracting from how it looks now. Hope you continue to follow my builds.
Any camo scheme planned?
Not decided yet, but definitely something I am considering, but for now, I am happy with the look and just going to enjoy driving and putting the tank through its paces.
Where did you get the brass bush?
Hi, I managed to track this down although its listed as sintered bronze..link here: www.bearingboys.co.uk/Metric-Plain-Oilite-Bearings/OB384445-Plain-Oilite-Bearing-Bush-3974-p?gclid=Cj0KCQiAgOefBhDgARIsAMhqXA6I2BkoI57S9dCuw8XuG1nIb5c02meSDMSemdgNMRx_JfJOnYQYgdEaAl9CEALw_wcB. it is a perfect fit for the Tiger 1. Hope this helps...
@@tonys_workshop Thanks Tony
Did you flip us off at 0:34? 🙃
What? No way...I have just checked it and I can now see why you would think that...I never even knew I did that....putting it down as camera nerves :-) No offence meant.
