Buffalo police officer Cariol Horne was fired in 2008 after she says she stopped a White Buffalo officer who was using a chokehold on a Black suspect. Jericka Duncan spoke with Horne, who on Tuesday had her termination reversed, and is now eligible for her nearly $1 million pension.

God will handle the rest, but she should. She is entitled to the full justice and backdate of her pension and get more money from her pension because of wrongful termination.

  • As a retired police officer in the UK I am appauld at this woman officer's treatment for doing the right thing. Her bravery stands out at the highest level, knowing she may receive a backlash from her colleagues afterwards. Not only should she have her pension reinstated but also the loss of pay for her and her family should have been given, for the trauma they had to go through. I wish her well for the years to come knowing she can walk through life with her head held high. She sets an example for new recruits of why we join the police in the first place, which is firstly to protect life of all those in need of help no matter the situation or who they are.

I mean, this was 15 years in the making, so for the past 15 years and for the next forever, this story cant be used. Idk how often something that was this public initially gets fixed later, but they do share other happy ending stories from time to time. Its just not every day that something extraordinary makes headlines because either it didn't happen that day, or the news didnt hear about it, i guess.
