Former Buffalo, New York police officer Cariol Horne, who was fired more than a decade ago, has won a lawsuit this week to reinstate her pension. It comes a few months after she helped pass a city law aimed at increasing officer accountability. Horne, along with her attorney Intisar Rabb, joined CBSN to discuss her legal victory and the state of law enforcement.

These police chiefs always speak about the no snitching code and they are the very ones who enforce that same thing against the good police officers. The good cops are punished for doing the right thing!! They silence them by preventing them from being promoted, they demote them, ostracize them and force them out.

    • But, sadly, (in my opinion) you can't teach values & morals to grown adults who've chosen wrong over right, darkness over light, hate over love, negative over positive etc., etc. their entire lives. We are taught the values of compassion, honesty, empathy, etc from childhood. But, sometimes even those who are "raised right" just don't follow the examples that were set for them & their moral compasses go totally astray. The ones out there that would most need to hear Cariol speak & teach them about ethics & values are the ones who likely wouldn't care to hear it at all.

  • This is why we need to dismantle America old slavery system of policing. When a good cop try to save a life, do the right thing they get punished. Black cops are discriminated against in police dept.

  • I am truly glad that she will be receiving all the financial help that was wrongfully taken from her. Now this is so good the law that she has placed infront of Them. But as we all know the problem is actually the racism that they have in policing in America.I pray that God give you strength mentally and physically you’ll safely and peaceful many more years to come much love my sister yes much love .,!!🙏🏾❤️ oh yes 😎

  • Ms Horne is exactly correct, when she said that cooperation and compliance is often not enough, from the suspects, with respect to the mindset of the officers perusing. You can do everything you are instructed/ordered to do and they police will be determined to escalate the situation. Compliance should be an indication, to the office to de-escalate I am so proud of Ms Horne, for her pursuit of her rights and the rights of others. Had she not fought for justice, every step of the way, she would not have gotten justice freely given, as it should have been, for such egregious acts on her character. Although this was terrible injustice and instigation of blatant dirty tricks, on the part of the police dept, she would never have been acknowledged for their victimization of Ms Horne. So proud of her for fighting for her justice. Thankful for the Judge, who over turned the deeds of the department.

    • Thank u Lady C. Happy for you. It is regrettable - your pain and suffering. What can be done to stop these rogue police? Retrain them in humane appropriate behaviour, monitor them, get rid of the bullies, and the racist from the police department and the Injustice System. One day, the "experiment" being carried out on the POLICE will backfire. Until then, stop making excuses for their murderous acts. remove the Injustice System
