With the weather not being great “yet” in 2024 pulling tactics are still very much part of our fishing day so here is a fly that fits into the international gauge and also gives an alternative to fishing blobs, FABs or bobbies.
Best fished on a 3 or 4 fly cast on the point or the top dropper with nymphs, cormorants or even traditional wet flys between this fly can be seen from a long way off and will bring fish into your cast. Make sure to fish it on the hang as fish will follow it all the way in taking it at the last minute, 5-10 seconds at the side of the boat or bank can quit often lead to a take and an extra few fish for your day. (Last year on the lake of Menteith I done very well whilst out for a fun day with almost all fish taking on the hang so it pays to slow it down right at the end and keep the flys fishing)
This fly also works for wild brown trout pulled quickly fish on days where the fish are in attack mode.
If you haven’t subscribed and want to see more flys that work and how to fish them I would love your support.
Tight lines for 2024 🎣
That’s a dandy and Crackin’ pattern 🎉 Cheers 🌟 🎣 💫
Cheers Brian 👍
Good attractor fly Mario, could use on bob or tail.

Size 10 comp heavy weight fits the international gauge and then to need to make sure the tail is short enough when wet to also fit in.
