Beautiful fish. I catch ones like that all the time after I fall asleep.
@crunch wobbly wanderers it’s a dream he catches them in his dream
Wow, so pretty there, that’s a dream🤭😳😳
The ones i catch in my dreams arnt even that big
Same lmao
The ones in my dreams are probably at least 2-3 inches bigger than the ones you catch it your dreams! Lol
seeing these images makes me miss this country so much nothing more beautiful on earth than nz's south island
one of my all time favourite fisherman and presenters, well done buddy!!!
Big fishy :) Thanks for letting her go. We need those ones out there, making more! 🐟
You bet
Correction - that is a fish of many lifetimes! Well done and congratulations!
Yes! Thank you!
Nice Big Trout. As many say, there are many other places to catch big trout in the world. But that one is awesome. Nice Catch! I live in Rio Grande, Argentina and we do have that big of sea run brown trout in here.
The jealous haters are just disgusting.... Great job man!
Nicely done keep up the great work I smashed the like bottom for you 🤙
A lot of haters here. Jealous fishermen in my opinion. How about: "Wow! What a world class trout! Sure hope one day I can get one that size."
oceanexploration yep
You sound like my mom
Thank you for saying this 👍

@LB Fishing Lake trout arent even in the same family as brown, rainbow, etc. They are in the char family.
A very docile fish for one that had (just been caught)? Also, the rod remained pretty stable during (the fight)?
Hell I'm happy with the steelheads up here around 6 to 10 pounds. I'd poop my pants if I caught a 30 plus pound fish.
😂
Y do u americans call them steelheads and not rainbows
@@AlphaAscentMotivation I don't know. Why?
@@jimc4839 lol still no idea
@@AlphaAscentMotivation I always wondered that myself. They are rainbows. I will let you know if I find out otherwise.
What a fantastic fish!
Amazing fish!
Awesome, in anybody's book. Congratulations my friend. I still have a few years left in me and I'm heading out next week in search of ...
Great catch!! Well worthy trip.
That fish is a gift from god
Love your videos
5:15 he finally pulls it out of the water. Youre welcome.
T C so there is a such thing as KZhead angels!
He does it in 4:23 ._.
God forbid you watch 6 minutes of a cool story
Thanks and greetings from Kayseri
magnificent. well done
Wow that is a large trout . Bravo. What is the lure you are using ?
In Canada, we have had countless +50lb Trout regularly on camera. Lake Wollaston, Lake Diefenbaker and Great Slave Lake are just a few lakes to name that regularly produce bigger trout than this. This definitely not arguably the biggest trout ever caught on camera, maybe in New Zealand though.
This video is about brown trout, not Mackinaw, not lake trout
50 lbs +, that’s a friggin big trout
There is more than one Trout record. Lake Trout, Rainbow Trout, Brown, Brook to name some. Lake trout in the Northwest Territories get upwards of 50-70 lbs. Record is over 70lbs I believe from Great Slave Lake or Great Bear Lake. World record brook trout was caught in my Region the Nipigon river at just over 14lbs.
You mean Lake trout? Largest Brown was caught in New Zealand, and the records before it too. I think Canada has had some of the record Rainbows, but generally I've only seen people catching fingerlings and getting all hyped over 15 inchers in Canada and the states, thanks.
@@AlphaAscentMotivation Do a little more research. NZ has the record for Browns and that's about it. Lake Trout...Canada, Brook Trout...Canada. And 70lb lakers aren't quite fingerlings bud. 14lb Brook trout, world record since the early 1900's.
Nice fish!!!
ive fished in south island especially around the Remarkables and Southern Alps..I caught some decent trout( and a few enormous eels)..I did see some big boys over 20lb but I never got them to take a lure or fly..they really are very crafty and will follow the lure into your feet..but just won't take it properly..it's very frustrating..some of the locals reckon that the reason they get so big is because they turn cannibal and also take mice on the surface..I have since seen this on a David Attenborough documentary but didn't witness it in NZ.. If you love trout and like clean air and cold clear water..along with awesome lord of the rings scenery..south island is hard to beat..and the trout really are the biggest you'll ever see even if you probably won't catch a big boy..
i've seen bigger trouts than it caught in the limay river in argentina, home of some of the biggest brownies of the world for sure... i've seen it in videos too, so... if you have the chance you have to go there, its an amazing place.
Did you watch till the end?
Great Brown...🎣🐋
New Zealand is so beautiful.
Is that a STLHD
What a fantastic fish
Trout is thinking Ken VanDammit
What a trout! I've caught bigger Salmon, but I've never seen anything like that fish.
I realize they are from a different family of trout but what about the large Brown Trout that was caught in Flaming Gorge Reservoir Utah back around 1980, wasn't it 30+ pounds?
Caught a 25lb chinook and few other smaller ones on these KVD hooks, none lost so far. Size 2. really would recommend.
In Scotland where they have fish farms in Lochs the trout grow huge feeding on the pellets that falls through the bottom of the cages .
That's what's happening in New Zealand, too.
Sad .
The trout are eating the pellets that slip through the salmon nets. These fish are huge
That fish looks kind of like the big mouth Billy bass " take me to the river, put me in the water !" Lol
Got one of those packed away in my basement somewhere. Lol
@@jjp.8690 I wish I had one :)
Is that a Yo-Zuri minnow?
Nice one .🐳
my record trout hell I do not know for sure 8 LBS maybe. still working on that monster trout.
Nice trout
What are they eating?
The heaviest trout was caught in the Soča river in Slovenia (27 kg). They keep it in a museum somewhere in France.
Maye they've caught 30kg once where this guy is fishing.
Hint. if you get caught out with a fish that's to heavy for the scales, there is a solution. You need some rope. Tie one end of the rope to a fixed point that's high enough so that when you weigh the fish, it's not going to be on the ground. Put fish in bag or net for weighing and pass rope freely through part of net/bag so that you can attach scales to the lose end of rope. Now pull the scales up so they are on the same level as the fixed end of rope so the rope forms a sort of "V". Read the scales and double the vale to reveal the true weight. _If you have a fixed point and scales on the other end of the rope, what ever you're weighing, provided that it's free to move on that rope and is at the bottom of the "V", what ever you're scales read is half the true weight. The fixed point taking up the other 1/2 of the weight. But you have to make sure that the fixed end and the scales are at the same height._ That aside. What a stoking fish. A real _clonker_ as we'd say in the UK. And to see other huge trout just _lazing about._ Awesome!!
Hold up people! Back in 1976 October 21st on the Koenigssee Bavaria Germany , I've seen a Trout caught weighing in at 55Pounds. Yes that 25KG of Wild Torut that is! These are nowhere near record Trout, still 18Pounds off the Record.
There is a little more to a World Record than weight. What line it was caught on. Was there assistance (no record) ect. Genetics. Remove any of those and .......just saying
Fly rod to be specific, one man fishing, one holding a tiny net of which the Trout did not fit, caught near the Reitlgraben oppisite the St Bartholoma Kirche, where the Tourt is on display you most welcome to view it (for the record). As for the genetics the Trout was estimated to be 60 + years old in 1976.
60 years is about 3 times the maximum lifespan of a brown trout. Unless you count the rings on the otolith it's only wild speculation.
I read that on google to, however to conclude the speculation the Trout is on display. It is truly amazing to see something few people know about although it has been display 40 years. What else can I say.
There have been Lake-Trouts in the Königssee up to 25kg until the late 70s. I visted the restaurant there as a child and renember the trophy there as one of the biggest trouts i ever saw. Here is a link 2 the actual picture. www.holidaycheck.de/m/gruesste-je-gefangene-forelle-im-koenigssee/42cc713e-4ae1-38f9-86c5-3c863f9f6484

Caught it from the shore? What a badass.
Where I can find this lure plz send me the address
Hope you released it.
I'm making jigs right now at the moment ,that'd get one if the biggest in the canal get em to bite it anyways I just made one for palemino's I like the rap ala floating xrap its like a shady shape but shiner colored I catch huge brookies a lot on the retrieve
Amazing what happens on the water at dusk, rather than blazing daylight.
here at argentina in tierra del fuego may be you can find bigger brownies, and sea run brown too, they are a really great figthers fishes really stregth !!! with 18 pound still jumps out of water !!
@Leonidis78 yeah, but this trout of the video is a nice beast too !! i wan to ask you is really hard to find big brownies in the usa today ?
@Leonidis78 what a strange, here brownies live with rainbows, but rainbows not grow to big like the brownies, may be is the genetic, here a sea trout grow like a salmon in one year about, they are really the kings of the rivers and the lakes here, and i think some times the weather and climatics we are soo perfect to this species, you cand find to brookies nice too !!
@@tomasbmx we have giant here too, just nowhere near as many
Huge trout are awesome. Upstate new York. We get big browns and steelies
wow just wow
They will be feeding on daphnia that will be in the hydro pipes that feed the lakes & canals 🎣🙂
What kind of trout?
Brown mate
There's videos of a old hatchery for rainbows got damaged n they ecaped into this monster lake system in Canada I forget the name its been yes since saw it but iktge makes are invite only private they were mid to high 40s n the lakes naturally have huge Brooke's they got some of them also
Why isn't the fish moving?
What species trout is he...nice catch bruv...look good on, mantle piece...
Steelhead/rainbow trout
Absolutely love this great fish! My dream is to go fish the nz canals absolute huge fish well done
Biggest trout I've caught in Australia is a 14 pound rainbow trout,I've heard of a 21 pound Brown caught in the same spot where i caught the Rainbow trout.
Definetly not the biggest trout ever but got its species a stunner. For the biggest trout ever loop up the Taimen of mongolia. they get up to 6 feet and some specimens even bigger.
North America's biggest rainbow trout is like 52lbs. These fish are amazing
Wow thats very cool
This is a commercial for Mustad hooks. World's biggest trout caught on camera? When weighed it was actually 5 lbs. shy of the world record.
The other one wasn't caught on camera as the name of the video states
fishing4truth you think ? Lol. 😁
Fishing4truth...I'm from California, one year on the Feather high water condition,. Big Chinook....Owners were snapping in half, Gamagatsu straightened out...no lie...Mustad landed fish.....Steelheader for all my life... Blessings
@@@ericunderwood6728 My experience with Mustad hooks has always been negative. I've lost a lot more fish on them than any other hook. Gamakatsu and TMC are more effective at landing fish.
@@hattrickster33 I had to try something else in those conditions I spoke about, Fish(chinooks) were big that year 45-65 were common, I swear by owner needlepoint when I drift crawlers for Steelhead most of my hook sets are in the mouth owner needlepoint seem to make sense when your trying to set a hook in such a hard white mouth...they still get off!
The world record for largest trout ever caught is 42lb? Someone needs to beat it and get one that’s exactly 50lb
Was that fish out of the water too long?
Yes it's as good as dead
Is that a steelhead, brown trout or a rainbow?
Esas las hay en el gavión de debajo de mi casa mas grandes
I've never understood why somewhat experienced anglers like this guy love to stare at the bend in the rod. The bend has nothing to do with anything. Large fish should be managed by feel and the rod should be an extension of you/your arm. If he were to break the world record, it shouldn't be counted and besides it cannot be much fun fishing a ditch. The best experience is getting the waders and wading boots on and fly fishing a stream where you have to find the holding water or feeding lanes, manage conflicting currents to ensure a drag free drift and fishing what they are eating. Yup, fly fishing in my opinion is the only way to fish.
What kind of trout is it
It' a Brown Trout.
There is no comma in the title after "trout", and the caption restricts the challenge to trout caught in 2015 that were also filmed while being caught. Misleading? Only if you misinterpret the title and don't read the caption. Still, the tackle was successfully tested which was the point of this commercial.
I've seen trout that big come from Lake Ontario.
What a fish!
We can do it on a single hook barbless fly, you need treble hooks and lures. Good work
You're so manly. Brush yer shoulders off.
Wwaoouh, my God!!
Awesome brown
thanks mate
Trout of wisdom
Insane size. I wud be worried about my treble hook...... Lol.
When its pinned properly its not too bad
that is one hell of a big trout i have seen a forty pound rainbow but that was someone's pet
AWESOME mate, just awesome.
Not the biggest trout on camera, even back in 15.
wow u really take about mustad hooks a lot
Yeah, but the trout size are controversial. They only get that big from the farm feed that runs off the farm, so is not truly wild trout size. I don't know.
Lake trout size
I have caught 7 massive in one day there on a $3 "the Warehouse" lure lol...they did straighten the treble hooks though..
AWESOME JOB!!!
surprised there is no Japanese whaling vessel in that canal
This video is about brown trout. So before you comment, engage brain before engaging mouth Don't comment about lake trout, Mackinaw
nice :)
is this a fish farm fish?
A fish came after my spinner one day, and it was as big as that, , i got a fright, i will never forget it, Trout or Salmon, it was, .
How old is a fish like this
all varies on environment as in food and water size etc, but this one would be old in any scale
@@AFNFishingOutdoors we don't get them anywhere near that big in Nevada or southern Utah where we go. Cheers from Las Vegas
Are these the trout that had been transplanted in the mid 1900's?
OMG, Biggest trout ever, just monster.
That's a salmon disguised as a trout! :-)
Char family dam near is a salmon. Ever caught a steelhead trout
@DBSF Sweet trout are a salmon. Steelhead trout. All the same fam the char family.
Amazing trout. Congrats 😁
me seeing you struggling to lif the monster
WELL PLEASE FOR YOU take no notice of the negative comments well done
The fish in the canals are just monsters eh
We all know it's the salmon farms. Half the pellets tossed in to feed the buggers fall through the nets. The salmon outside the enclosures gorge themselves. With all the clean mountain water flowing past, the fish grow to unnatural sizes. I watched a show on this exact topic. It makes for some fun fishing.
they are completely wild, mostly feed on freshwater snails and smaller fish
