Tying abdomens with goose biots

There are many uses for goose biots including using them as an abdomen material on small mayfly nymphs, caddis larvae, buzzers and even some emergers and dry flies. Often when tying them in they would break or tear but by moisturizing them for a while they would become softer and much easier to work with.

  • I soak them in glycerine. It softens and waterproofs them at the same time.

  • Alternatively, you can use turkey biots that are much longer and never break.
