  • AFW Tooth Proof Stainless Steel Wite leader material is awesome for wire fishing leaders and it’s cheap as hell. Like 5$ a package for 30 feet. Also you can bend perfect wraps by hand and break it off clean at the wrap knot with some practice. All you need is strong fingers and some attention to detail. I like the being pliers in the video. Having some of these would make building steel leaders much easier on my hands. 👍 I don’t want to sacrifice my good hemostats though.

  • I’d love to make the wire wrapping pliers out of hemostats but I don’t have want to sacrifice my good clips. 😂😂😂 maybe I’ll find an old pair or something. They look like they work so well. The leader I use is easy to had wrap the wire but it’s just a little hard on my fingers. Tooth Proof Steel Leader wire is a great inexpensive product for making steel leaders. It’s really cheap. You can also make leaders in the field of with no tools using it as long as you have strong fingers and are good at tinkering.

    • These are carp fishing cage/swim feeders for pack baits. Instead of chumming with boiled feed corn or canned sweet corn, you make a pack bait and press it into the feeder. The pack bait slowly dissolves and falls apart and attracts the carp or catfish to the feeder. Your hook-bait is usually on a size 4 or 6 hook and within 3" to 4" from the feeder. You can find many different ways to rig your swim feeder to catch fish. I actually prefer to use spring feeders as the pack bait is pressed into and around the spring feeder, which allows the pack bait to slowly fall off the feeder and make a nice chum pile. The fish are attracted to the chum pile, and your hook-bait is in close proximity for the fish to find. I use a soured corn pack bait for channel catfish and a fresh corn pack bait for carp. The carp doesn't seem to like the soured corn pack bait as much, but the channel catfish loves it. You can put many different types of additives/flavorings in your pack bait to change the flavor profile. The flavorings I like to use are banana, strawberry, anise, tutti-frutti, and coffee. The number of available flavorings is almost endless. You can find many pack bait recipes on youtube and Google.
