The grass season is perhaps quite short but is great to see our home players elsewhere on other tournaments and circuits so we see them elsewhere over the year. I would shout for them. Well done everyone to stream this.

  • Two fun facts. (1) Emma won her first non-slam WTA match 8 days before the start of the US Open (qualifiers). (2) In the qualifiers she was seeded 31, which meant that she was _not_ expected to get through: the 128 entrants competed for only 16 main draw places!

    • Mindset and consistency. The mental aspect of this game is a lot more important than most think. At this level, there isn't much separating players on the physical aspect. You see a lot of players play god-like in one round then totally collapse in the next. Mentally finding "the zone" and staying there for seven straight matches is what gets you the title.

Is it possible to stream/televise our young players around the different circuits alongside seeing them at Eastbourne, Nottingham or elsewhere. I think I would pay a subscription to see more of our young players.

Before you sign-up make sure they are showing the type of events that interest you. Generally, our younger players don't get much or any coverage. Just so you know the UK Pro League 2020 was the first, it was created to help our players stay in completion when they were unable to travel and compete due to Covid. This year final is in Shrewsbury 9th - 14th Nov ish.

You can check it by logging out and go back to the same video. That channel is an impersonation account with the current name. All they need to do is to change the name to, say, "Emma Raducanu fan" and make it clear that they are not directly affiliated. Which they obviously are not. I suppose some of us ought to file a report with YT about the problem. Not the biggest problem either, they have posted nothing directly suggesting they are ER. I'm more upset with the copyright infringement. As to ER's media strategy, I don't know why it has not been better coordinated. After all, some of us check YT before we check IG and Twitter. I don't follow any celebrity channels, and I have only recently become aware of these channels that will snatch a text from a news source, run it through a text-to-voice generator and merge it with an assortment of still images. Worthless, if you ask me, and those I have seen don't seem to have enough subs to even monetize their uploads. I suppose you are looking forward to IW just as the rest of us?

    • @@jgooner894 It’s the way the LTA was run for years, it was a one size fits all system and there was no catering to individual needs or flexibility and they funded very few players and didn’t bother in making it very accessible at all, it was extremely elitist. I mean until 2016 our best female player was Watson and our best male player (besides Murray) was ranked barely inside the top 200. Now we have 5 males and 6 females inside the top 150 for singles including 2 men and one woman in the top 30. And it’s thankfully since the LTA lopped off that bloody awful Roger Draper as the head that they’ve hard marked improvement in their players and development, a la Raducanu.
