The US Open is the final Grand Slam of the year and takes place at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. The 2021 US Open saw Russia's Daniil Medvedev and Great Britain's Emma Raducanu claim the men's and women's singles titles. It was both players' first major title, with 18-year-old Raducanu becoming the first-ever qualifier to achieve the feat. The 2022 US Open main draw is scheduled to go ahead between August 30 - September 11.

  • Fernandez had a much harder way to the final than Raducanu. Her opponents were much higher ranked. She is such an exciting player. I do wish her all the best and to fulfil her potential.

  • Excellent match and video. I think most players would have folded after Sabalenka blasted her way to a 4-1 lead. Incredible mental toughness by Leylah to stick with it. When Sabalenka is rolling, she is unstopable. The commentator was right, there were alot of points on Sabalenkas racquet in the 1st set.

  • Richard Williams was deeply criticized how he trained and raised Versus and Serena. And how the girls didn’t join the media in criticizing Richard or each other. And the Media wanted more from them, so they tried to destroy Richard and were very mean to the entire family! Now, so many others are following in his footsteps, but the Williams went through a lot. They pushed the door open wider, and made it easier for others to come through.

Leylah went for drop shot, did well, but Saba won this point and desperately tried to switch the crowd on her side by throwing up both hands in the air. • This was such a great match. As a Canadian it was so tense the entire way through. Both played really well, only bad game was the last one where Sabalenka just completely imploded. Two bad double faults and two bad unforced errors handed fernandez victory, all she had to do was put two returns in play all game and that was that. Disappointing end to an otherwise OUTSTANDING semifinal.

  • great match from Leylah, but as for Sabalenka..50 (FIFTY) unforced errors in a semifinal(1:53:47)??? even though i felt bad for her at the end with the crowd cheering her mistakes, still a shocking bottlejob from someone ranked number 2, and is another reason why Emma won the tournament, she simply served, returned and made less unforced errors than everyone else...while Emma serves an ace in the last game to win the final, here Sabalenka's making 2 double faults in a row in the last game to basically hand Leylah the winning set and match...if anything US Open 2021 had the top professionals put to shame by 2 teenagers schooling them in how to keep your calm in the big moments lol
