The 2021 US Open main draw runs from August 30 - September 12 in New York City at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. The tournament takes place for the 141st time and is the fourth and final Grand Slam of the year. Dominic Thiem is the men’s singles defending champion but has withdrawn following an injury. Naomi Osaka is the women’s singles defending champion and will be aiming to claim the title for the third time in four years. Meanwhile, No. 1 seed Novak Djokovic looks to complete the calendar Grand Slam after winning the Australian Open, French Open and Wimbledon already this year. Should the Serbian lift the title here for the fifth time, he will also overtake Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal to become the first-ever man to win 21 Grand Slam singles titles. With full capacity crowds back again, it’s time for the greatest return!

    • The last reply is pretty hilarious. Her parents taught her yes but not Britain. When has Britain been gracious in defeat or gracious in victory? During the Euro 2020 tournament the England fans were chanting "Its coming home" and after the final started rioting. There is no such arrogance in Emma.

    • @@ekojay8279 There was widespread disgust and condemnation in Britain to the shameful reaction by some fans to the loss. Those racists wankers do not represent Britain. The chanting of "it's coming home" has been a England chant since 1996. It's not a chant of arrogance, but one of hope, because England was hosting the UEFA European Championship in 1996. She has an excellent serve, powerful ground strokes, but most importantly she has a freaky mental strength and is able to think on the spot to work out how to adapt to her opponent - something all of her opponents in NY failed to do to her. Leylah, just as Bencic and Sakkaria before her, got frustrated because her hassling-style wasn't bringing her the success she had had in the other rounds. She had everything on her side in the final - the crowd, her family, the net-cord (which went at least 5 times in her favor) and more experience, but it wasn't enough because Emma had worked her out. The adaptability this girl has could win her a stack of majors, If she stays healthy and disciplined of course.
