Fly Fishing Montana's Big Spring Creek and Clark Fork River [Series Episode #48]
In this episode we are fly fishing for trout on a couple of small waters in Montana. We use nymphs to catch and release nice Browns and Rainbows. Big spring Creek is located near Lewistown Montana and is known for good sized Brown trout. We start on the Clark Fork River above Drummond Montana so it is small enough to walk and wade. We have never fished Big Spring creek, so it is fun to explore. A really nice day outdoors. I hope you enjoy this episode.

Special 'out of the way place.' Was this filmed early spring or late fall?
Spring. April.
And the CF river is only about 30% of it's fishery potential because of toxic mine waste slickens that riddle the Upper CF. Imagine how much better a fishery it will be to an already good one once the DEQ finishes cleaning up the mine waste that riddles the upper CF, albeit 20+ years from now. What a resilient river⛏️
So true Jimmy. Amazing resilience.
Has anyone ever pulled out an ugly fish or are they all beautiful?
Always beautiful. No actually I have caught some pretty ugly fish.
