  • I believe the core issue with the empath is that we feel responsible for the well being of the people around us. " I feel what you feel and its terrible. I don't want you to feel this way and I don't want to feel this way around you. What can I do to make you feel better?" After all, if they are well, we feel well. This is why we might be people pleasers. But we really should quit fixing people. I really have to hold myself not to engage myself in to others just because I sense they are not ok. Especially when they are energy vampires and don't want to be fixed.

  • Judith believes that empaths will be the saviors of our world. She wants to make being an empath a joy. This is a noble mission. May all beings learn to extend mercy and forgiveness to ourselves and others. 🙏

  • I was walking one evening with my froend and i saw the full moon in all of its glory so I said to my friend: Oh look at the moon! She said nothing. Me, thinking she didn't hear me said again: look at that MOON! She looked at like she didn't recognize me. And that's how empaths are trapped thinking there something wrong with me. 🙂 I just love being an empath, life is beautiful!

  • I almost weeping right now. I woke once again at 2:30 am wracked with anxiety but felt a leading to investigate being an empath which I have long known deep down. As a child being the only emotional adult and comforting my parents after a fight as a 5 year old. Adukt friends of my mother used to tell me intimate details of their marriages as a young girl, way TMI. My mother noticed it it flattened me. A malignant narcissistic mother, married to a physically, mentally and emotionally abusive man I stayed in that over 30 years and I got out by the skin of my teeth and barely alive not sure I wanted to be alive. I'm 63 years old and starting over. I cannot tell you what a blessing this has been to me.

And then I found Dr. Orloff, and feel free, like the weight is gone. I know what you mean, how lucky are we?

  • It was last year that I met a Shaman who began to teach me about being an Empath. I’m so happy cause I just figured I was the “strange” one and the outcast. I never fit in. I remember as a child when I’d read about someone’s hurt or broken body part. That part on my body would completely go numb. Still does lol. I’ve been so heavy and exhausted most of my life and never knew I was carrying bodies, as my Shaman called it. He taught me about transmuting energy. I’m so glad I found this lady and I’ve ordered her book. We Empaths are so darn special ❤

    • Yes empaths tend to attract narcissists - it's our natural inclination to heal the wounded . And only empaths listen to narcissists, cause narcissists repel each other

      @annelouridas8199@annelouridas81995 жыл бұрын
    • I felt like I was cursed too. I’ve learned that as an empath we need to heal our own wounds. If we don’t, then energetically we continually attract people of low vibrations. Heal yourself and set boundaries. This is something that I am just barely learning myself.

With emotionally damaged parents who had no patience for sensitivity. You have no idea how this has effected my life. As a child it was terrible! As an adult I am finding out how amazing it can be. Thank u.

  • I’ve been going through a lot of healing as an empath. For probably about the last 15 years I’ve tried to figure out “what is wrong with me” because, I am not only an empath, but other things as well. I think back to my childhood & just knowing stuff about adults & feeling people who were supposed to love me, didn’t, was extremely overwhelming. This has been so great to listen to. I’ve been a mom to animals that have literally found me. It’s an amazing gift. The healing from a high number of narcissists in my family, has been the most enlightening, as well as trying. Thank you for this. I’m looking for your book now.

  • Thank you both for this teaching. Very helpful and insightful. Thought I was loosing my mind. Now I see it is mere empathy on a deep level. Found walking on the beach with shoes off really helped. Actually all that helped. Also allergic reaction to any and all antidepressants. Dancing really allows me to escape to some extend. Not always able to dance in the middle of nowhere. But will be able to breathe like you have taught.

I have most of all the Empathic Signs, except not easy to crying, as I have become stronger and more tolerant in our world and towards all people. I have a healing career, I do best when I'm helping others learn about health and wellness. I struggle l most in close relationships where I need the private downtime space > this is where it becomes the most Challenging having your partner understand your needs: and not become drained and overwhelemed in a personal relationship. I have to GO TO my own space for total quiet solitude and my partner must learn to understand my need for that or it doesn't work.

Many Empaths/ HSP’s work in the field as well, helping struggling addicts. It’s been a struggle being an Empath myself dealing with all of the emotions/ problems of the patients but it is rewarding. I’ve most definitely made self care a consistent part of my day to day life as compassion burnout is common.

  • I’m so glad I found this interview. Judith Orloff , I love you. I am earth , animal, plant, tree and people Empath. When I was 8yrs old , while waiting for the city bus with my mother, I asked her ; what will happen to us ,if the bus crashes in accident ? She yelled at me saying “ why did you speak those words “ 15min later the bus arrives, the bus gets packed with passengers ( It was a 1 stop direction using the highway to the next town ). Within 10minutes the bus drivers tells everyone to hold on , the brakes where not working. So ya, the Bus craches in the ditch , everyone go flying to the front, no death , however everyone was cut, bruised , some with broken arms or leg, AND I HAD NOTHING. I walked out without a scratch. My mother was injured lightly. We even made the Cover newspaper the next day ( i still have a copy ) I have had so so so many events in my life we’re I felt Information from anything in my field of energy, and speak the invisible into existence. I often have had friends witness my doing in public , and they slowly stopped talking to me. But now I know what all this is. Being an Empath , Awake , highly intuitive , I’m learning more and specially REMEMBERING WHO I AM. THANK YOU Judith. 😘💫 Great Job TAMI SIMON 😘💫

    • Thaaaaank u Judith 4 having a A personal relationship with your empathetic self n sharing it to help others. As far back as i can remember, it's been me. I was an emotional, weepy, depressed child Very truthful 2 a fault. I went 2 a therapist when I was 6..... schoool!!!, oh no! It was a disaster. So drained. All my senses were overload. I had learning disibilitiies, problems at home with narsistic parents n 1 sibling. The only peace I had in my life was 2 n from school where I communes with nature. Watching ants n bumble bees, smelling lilacs, . It restored me. I was labeled a slow learner, dyslexic, dreamer, maybe autistic. Always a label never a cure. I always was saving wounded animals, n dreamed of being Heidi n living in the Swiss alps!! Im so glad to have some reference point in your insight. I always kinda lost, not fitting in. N people like pastors, thought that I was embellishing, over emotional exaggerating. I've had a life time of frustration. People not relating with me.. on my own I had coping skills. I had 2.let go of feeling others pain. So much. Realized that toxic people were a drag , in that I was always used by them n I had 2 day good by 2 some people. I didn't no that these people needed the door, it was just timing or so I thought. I'm a lot freer now. Empath really fits. Now I no why I found a relationship with the God of Abtaham, Isaac, n Jacob at the age of 7!! Thank u again.

  • I'm discovering this at 60 very quickly. Today has been alittle hard. I'm not sure what was going on completely but there was some energy that was around. That it was a heavy energy. And it affected me and pulled me down.

  • Thanks for the talk. I am an extravert Empath. I believe there is a specific area in Sales where extravert Empaths are good at: complex solutions selling in the enterprise world. Intuition, creativity and empathy are fantastic accelerators. However, a safe and open work environment with a lot of freedom and respect of Empaths’s needs is required to succeed and not to finished exhausted. That’s the main challenge for me, not the complex solutions selling role where I am feeling very well.

  • Ohhh! I have this weird feelings for certain people and used to think why I feel like that. I have always worried about that feeling and searched for reasons a lot and failed. I really thank you both for this very enlightening conversation that gave me a reason why I feel that feeling. I think I can feel overwhelming unsettled emotions in that person and can’t face them cuz I feel that and worries me. Our brain is really strange, how it feels without conscious.

  • I feel my left hand is aching really bad and I look at it and shake it and squeeze it then realize my hand actually doesn't hurt but I feel as if my brain tells me it really hurts and as I wonder why I feel this way I notice that the person next to me has swollen left hand and I can see on his face he is in pain so I decided to help him. I'm driving and feeling so tired and low and as I pass along an old tree beside the road I feel as if its shade has invisible light that rays on me and calms me. I can imagine myself on other's shoes, absorb their body language, speech pattern, mannerism, know how it is to be like them, learn and understand their personality pattern, and predict their next action. I can do it simply by just looking at your picture, drawing, handwriting, etc. Extreme negative emotions are like loud noise and bright lights that irritate me. Only true empaths would know.

  • I don’t take on people’s pain and emotions after being with them, but I do get drained from social events and I often can sense when people have tension in the room but then at times I don’t think I sense it at all. But my emotions do change and reflect others behaviours (I can go from happy to down just like that). Am I an empath or just a sensitive person? I am also too honest and open to almost every one even when I don’t know / haven’t figured them out yet and will still be open towards them even once I’ve figured it what they’re like as if I don’t care and am willing to take the risk. Am I an empath or just a sensitive person?

  • I hate my empathetic personality it has been a curse to me knowing exactly what people think and feel all the time and just being taken advantage of at every turn. I live my life bye truth in every aspect of my life. I only recently discovered my personality has a label. I have been living alone now for close to 17 years now I live surrounded by nature as far away and with as little contact with other people as possible.

This company was notorious for their high-pressure sales tactics and the lawsuits that resulted from their unethical business practices. I didn't last long in that cultish business. It was hell.

  • My friend is an empath, and she talks nonstop around others who feel overwhelmed by this behavior. Can an empath be insensitive to others and talk over them, and not be sensitive to stop this behavior - even if they have been told the behavior interferes with the relationship? What should she do to get it, and to change?

  • I recently realized what I am as an empath as a kid I spent most time by myself because I knew one to get out of the house I knew when to isolate myself and I knew when things were not going to go well and on top of that I always felt better out in the wilderness when we lived out in the country when I moved in town I had started feeling more disconnected with nature unless I got into the water in the lake right by our house that’s when I started feeling more centered and more at peace was in the water and recently I’ve been getting extremely overwhelmed or I’ve been getting migraine headaches and sinus headaches and I had been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder bipolar to PTSD and generalized anxiety disorder and on top of that one time my wife recently had to go to the hospital for tests and while being there I actually got so overwhelmed because I can feel every emotion and every energy from everyone in the entire hospital and I ended up throwing up and had to get out of the situation as fast as I could as soon as my wife was done with her test I couldn’t get out of there fast enough but when I got home I still felt overwhelmed and I threw up as well I spent the rest the day in bed trying to get better and ever so often I will still get overwhelmed especially was one staff that my wife had in the evening where she had lost her brother and I’ve been feeling all of her pain which gave me massive headaches and feeling extremely rundown and then we also have one daytime staff with another company and she pretty much only works with me and she’s supposed to do my wife’s eight hours and most days she doesn’t even come in and when she does she’ll take me to my appointments and when she does come in she just sits on the couch doesn’t do anything to help and falls asleep and I’ve sensed many times that she has lied but there’s nothing I can do and to also add last on the note is I am transgender I am a trans woman and I am very much in tune with the feminine energies
