Here I show how I have cleaned my car and truck engines for years. It requires no water, scrubbing, or heavy degreasers. Plus, it protects your belts and hoses.

  • I use this method on my 1997 Ford T-bird. Tried it by accident after I tried degreaser and low pressure water hose. This improved the look 100 % as the degreaser left a film and I didn't want to use high-pressure water on it. Looks like a new engine compartment as my regular mechanic was totally impressed.

    • I've done exactly what I show in the video for 20 years without any problems. I completely understand the concern about wanting to cover certain parts and think that if someone is not comfortable with the foam getting on them they should cover them. I've done this long enough now that I don't have any concerns with it getting on any parts which is why I don't cover anything.

    • @@AllAmericanMack thank you for letting me know that helps me a lot And thank you for replying back to me. I want to make sure that I am clear. You were saying. I can spray that tire shine on the engine bay that includes batteries Alternator, and the fuse box are those going to be alright with out cover it?

      @adamlipscomb6459@adamlipscomb64592 жыл бұрын
    • Ok, don't use tire shine as those are a different product and are heavily silicone based, I specifically use Armor All brand Tire Foam because I've used other brands in the past and find they don't work as well. I'm not specifically saying you should spray those items just that I do and have never had any problems. I say this because suppose when you spray it you get some on the alternator and 3 months later the alternator goes out. You're going to think that the tire foam likely caused it, even if it didn't so that's why I don't say to just spray everything. However as I said earlier, I do spray everything and always have without any problems for 20 years so it's just not a concern for me.

  • It may make it look nicer but it also attracts more dust since the tire foam doesn't actually dry completely. So once you drive the vehicle road dust sticks to all the surfaces more, hence creating gunk and buildup that will in fact cause more issues than it’s worth. I suggest an Orange degreaser and plain water. Be sure to disconnect the battery.

    • @@davidg7346 It was a double edged sword when he enlisted. I didn't want him to go, but knew serving his country was an important thing for both him and the country. It was a proud moment watching him and all the others graduate basic training. I forward him these comments because he appreciates the support of people like yourself. He is stationed in a city where there is a huge anti-military sentiment and was actually spit on at the airport on a trip home for his grandmothers funeral. So people like yourself who take the time to write words of encouragement and support really do mean a lot. Thank you again and God bless!!

  • Thank you young man. You have saved me time in many ways. You're one cool and smart young man. I wish you could help me with my Pontiac G6. I can't hear like I use to and I have replaced my wheel bearing, but the noise came back after a year. It sounded like the driver's side and when I turn to the right it wasn't as loud and stayed the same when I turned to the right, so I changed the driver's side. It's not as loud but it's still there. Help

    • Sorry I just seen my mistake. When I turn to the right it wasn't as loud but when I turned to the left it stayed the same, so I changed the driver's side. The noise is still there but not as loud. I was thinking maybe a bad part or maybe I have to change both again. I don't know. Help

      @eddiebagley1637@eddiebagley16372 жыл бұрын
    • I'm certainly no mechanic but if you changed both of them and the noise went away for a year and then came back, I would guess one or both might need to be changed again. If they were cheaper bearings, it could just be failing prematurely or maybe water or debris got inside the seal. If you live somewhere that they salt the roads, that could cause early failure. Even bad roads can wear them out. I had a truck with 238k miles that I never changed the bearings on but my sons car only had about 60k before his needed to be changed. There's just a lot of factors that can go into how long they last. If it were me, I would go ahead and change them both again and be sure to use high quality bearings.
