    • Scotty great video as usual. Here is the thing. I have similar problem with my ‘02 Mitsubishi Montero 3,5 v6. I have replaced several sensors and changed almos all lines of vacuum and still have some troubles at low speed in load conditions. I have a lot of suspects on the MAF sensor so I got a can of CRC MAF cleaner but the can says it is not good for Karman Vortex MAF Sensor as used on Lexus and some Mitsubishi’s. According to the design it looks like mine is a KV MAF so I’m hesitating about use the product or not. I searched for any specific for KV sensors but it looks like there is nothing specific for them. What you think?? Thanks in advance!! Keep up the good job!!!

  • I had cylinder misfires the same month I had to get the emissions test. Went to the mechanic and he wanted to do an $800 tune up! I didn't think I wanted to keep the car, but took a gamble and added some fuel injector cleaner to a tank of gas and cleared the check engine light. Drove it gently for a couple days to work the fluid through and then drove normally. NO MISFIRES, no codes, passed emissions. That was almost 2 years ago...kept the car :)

  • The MAS Sensor in a lot of European made 4 cyl cars can also effect the auto transmission causing it to not shift down when accelerating or starting off. As a result, lots of these cars end up at the Wrecking Yards as owners think the transmission is worn out. A clean MAS also makes a big difference in Toyota V6 & 4 cyl engines. Great instructional video Scotty, this should help a lot of people. Thank you. 👍🇦🇺.

A nasty storm contributed to wrecking the Explorer, as I want to time travel to stop myself from driving home and power napping! The Buick ran great, till I put Seafoam in the tank, then the transmission fluid was foaming!

  • Hey Scotty! Thanks for explaining about how to look at the speed of the car when the code occurred! This is the type thing I wish I knew more about, I mean, I have OBD-II software that gives SO much data, it's a program you had in a video once, the Ottotest software, and it's incredibly detailed, and it drives me crazy because I wish I knew more of the significance of the various things, and what things to look at. I wish there was a manual or something that expanded on those type things. Do you know of anything like that? Thanks! Longtime subscriber

  • I am new to your channel and really liking it. My wife has a 2016 Subaru Forester XT (under extended warranty) that kept tripping the warning lights for the crash avoidance system (Eyesight) and Dynamic speed control. It went to the shop several times under warranty. On the last visit, they diagnosed it to the be a faulty mass air sensor wire in the harness. However, due to us having been there so many times, they replaced the entire wiring harness. Wish they had seen this video and diagnosed it sooner.

  • Hi, great video, I just subscribed and i'll start checking out your others. I have a question, a new mass air flow sensor for the van I just bought is only like $45. Do they gradually go bad or just all at once? I'm just wondering since it has 200k if it's worth just replacing instead of just cleaning to prevent any future innefficiencies from occurring

  • The MAF sensor spray is exactly the same as brake cleaner and besides a MAF sensor is only made up of one schottky diode and one zener diode. So you'll be okay using brake cleaner. P.s; you're better off just replacing your diodes as they cost 0.002 of a cent each, plus they just push in ( no soldering needed). You can download the data sheet for your MAF sensor to find out what the correct impedance levels and ESR your MAF sensor requires. Honestly it's not as hard as it sounds and is very rewarding when you save a lot of pennies.
