Don't use gunk engine degreaser until you watch this bc for some people this not gonna work, specially a heavy baked oil that been sitting for years,
so in this video we gonna answer: do engine cleaners work ???
So, gunk Engine Cleaner Foam worked well with degreasing light oil and removed some dust and road grime, remember i used only one time and only for 15 minutes, you can try it for longer time and twice and you will get better results
this is one of the best and easy ways for degreasing engine bay and how to detail engine bay if you had engine leak before and wanna clean the engine to notes if you had new oil leak
gunk Engine Cleaner Foam Provides three types of engine degreasers for different level of application and how bad the engine dirt is, and one engine shine

Never use a pressure washer. Just use degreaser, a soft brush and a hose.
I don't even want to spray the hose in there 🤣🤣 it's gonna get all fucced up 🤔
What can get wet and what can’t get wet ?
@@brooklyn7941 use plastic bags to shield the following components from water: alternator, MAF sensor, oxygen sensors, fuse box and relays, intake system components, battery, exposed electrical connectors, and ignition coils.
depends on the car, most car now a days are water tight
@@ProJanitor that's a lot of stuff to cover 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I have used this product but instead of using water to rinse it, I use a powerful leaf blower to blow residual degreaser. I use a towel to wipe areas that had overspray.
Smart way to go about it Mr. 1977, that’s what I do exactly, no problems ever.👍🏽
Definitely a products that stands out amongst all others. I have been using it for years. I have used pressure washer all my life, however it is best to wash from TOP only. (let the water flow down wards)
Thanx bro I used poleks engine degreaser and it worked amazing it even return the shiny look of the front AC radiator
That's great, but don't leave them for a long time, they fade paint and plastic in a long term usage
Claro, corto, y bien explicado Ali, eres el mejor!!!
Gracias Rosie
🙏🏻
I use a pressure washer just not 5 inches from the motor Assy. Couple feet away has never failed me.
Thank u Ali, and I hope u do an extended version of how to clean ur engine the right way. ❤
Thanks for watching, sure I will make a long version soon
@@AliMECH Thank you 🙏🏻😊 can’t wait
I’ve used a Tornado air gun under the hood, it does a decent job of removing most dust and dirt before washing.

Just bought this product, just wanted to check it out before I used it. Great Video man, appreciate you posting this 👍
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for your feedback
Hey AliMECH, Thanks again for creating such fantastic content. Keep up the great work! 🚀👍
Glad you enjoy it!, thanks for watching
I love how he speaks. It’s therapeutic.
ask him for a date
Thank you for the video..will be trying this
You’re welcome
Good video.👍Thanks.
Thanks for watching!
That's how KZhead videos should be, thanks Ali
Thanks
Is that product good on electrical like the alternator and such?
Nice good job
Thanks
Save yourself a lot of money and just use spray tire cleaner let it dry on engine compartment. Works great
I’ve used gunk for showers too, strong smell indoors but works better than any ‘normal’ bathroom cleaner.
You take showers with it? I prefer body wash myself 😂
@@realamerican2633 real men use engine degreaser to clean their junk.
I believe covering the alternator is more beneficial than disconnection the battery but overall - great video...thanks
Thanx a lot mr ali🫡
Always welcome
Is the car still running?
Great results !!!
Thank you!
The foamy cleaner is my favorite cleaner
It worked good actually
What will cause the parts of the hood to get dusty?
Can you use this on the bottom side of the engine also? And do you want to rinse more than once, or do more than once cycle with this? Thank you for sharing your experience and skills with us.
Yes you can!, I have an old video and cleaned oil pan with it, here kzhead.info/sun/jKiYltuHnYt7gp8/bejne.html
I have tried to use the tire cleaner foam on the engine, particularly at the black colored parts (plastics, hoses/pipes, etc), it has the same results...
It gives oily layer, but they are not degreaser,
I I'm amazed, it was good one Ali
Thanks
Scrubbing bubbles bathroom cleaner works too
Good
Thanks
I use distilled water ., it won’t effect the electronics and not cause rust on any electric terminals and won’t leave green ash corrosion
I strongly suggest using a garden hose. Pressure washer will put water in places you dont want.
DON'T NEED PRESSURE WASHER FOR ENGINE BAY. AFFECTS THE ELECTRICAL: ALTERNATOR & FUSE BOX. ALSO AFFECTS THE SEALS.
This has solvents in it , said to not be good for rubber and plastics . I use Zep Heavy Duty Citrus Degreaser or any other citrus based degreasers and best if biodegradeable .
wish i had heard about this before lol now im afraid, sitting here letting it soak rn
@@strxwbwy The engine seems to be just dirty and no oily / grease build up . In this case I would use a citrus based degreaser as they are less harsh and biodegradeable . Though I have used this same one in the 1980s on an engine with grease and oily deposits . I suspect many people do not use a funnel when pouring oil into their engine and it spills .
@@strxwbwy Though Gunk does have a citrus based cleaner that comes in a spray bottle . I used that for years cleaning my engine from just surface dirt , no grease , oil , etc. But , it is very strong as I was almost choking when using it .
You forgot to mention something very important. It is mandatory to cover electrical parts like the alternator and the ECU.
I always used the GUNK SC,Came in a Gallon can ,,Now I cat find it ,Seems the Na-Z#I EPA forced it off the Market ,!!! That stuff was Fantastic ,,Spray a diluted solution on the warm engine Let set an hour and pressure wash it off It cleand great Then give a spray of the Purple dirt cleaner and It was Like new ! Mechanic 50+ years
Me gustaría ver qué al terminar, prende el auto sin problema, eso sería para el cierre de su proceso!
Once you do this a couple times, it's easier to keep it touched up by hand, yes I know it's a chore if you have a lot of engine components on the engine but it's something I personally do when I have all the time in the world to keep up on it by hand and that's because I'm single.
wow thanks for youtbue smile
I wanted to see him try and start it after, especially after spraying all that water into the alternator! 😆 😅😂 Rookie
Anytime you clean an engine with water and or degreasers you damage the electrical terminal connectors and wiring...just use a wet rag and take time wiping down
What will happen to sensors,connectors,sockets,modules,ecu,alternator?
99% of those are water RESISTANT, NOT WATERPROOF. Never use a pressure washer, a garden hose with a soft spray nozzle will work perfectly fine . Most of those components gets wet during rainy drives but a pressure washer is way too much
Great job. But I think using water is not a goid idea because there are electronic and electrical connection all around the engine. What if we leave the degreaser without wash?
@@marosen9260 right, just do the things this dude didn't do in the video.
Is the degreaser safe on the alternator
I use only citrus based cleaners . As they are biodegradable and not harmful to plastics and rubber. Just to rinse completely afterwards. I use Zep orange cleaner full strength
@@peterrudy9207what brands are these citrus based cleaners and where can I find it?
NEVER PRESSURE WASH AN ENGINE
One major thing he forgot, guess what? yes, he forgets to cover the Alternator with a plastic bag.
He's still trying to start the car
👍
🙏
Showing the 3 "flavors"... I'm curious about the "Gel" variant. Anyone with Experience with that? Since this Video Speculates that the "Foam" version's use on the Undersided of the Hood ran off quickly and didn't have enough cleaner/time to perform very well... Curious if the "Gel" does provide enough "cling" and possibly foam/moisture to help breakdown any grime it hits... Assuming the Gel doesn't run off during the 10-15 minutes allowing for it to loosen grim... I assume the Gel might "foam up" during the Rinse Cycle providing more cleaning action? Though probably the need for a second or third Rinse to clear all yhe gel/cleaner?
Never use degreaser under the bonnet unless it's actually covered in oil. It will cloud up plastic, rubber and ally. Just use a ph neutral soap like CT18 on a bottle diluted then wash it off.
I’m always nervous that pressure washing the engine will cause problems. Anyone experience any problems pressure washing their engine bay?
No but I do not spray so close. A couple feet away has never failed me.
Best if sprayed on a warm engine, heavy deposits require loosening up with a stiff brush and soaking 15 min before rinsing.
You can, but it evaporates the cleaner and don't let it degrease the oil
Very after some time all sensors will go bad water will eventually sip into them
Did the car start after that ?🤔
Always
Is it a good idea to pressure wash the engine though? The pressure might force it into electronic components. A garden hose seems like a safer option?
Sure it's safer, but my pressure washer at lowest setting, it doesn't even harm hand if I put my hand in front of the nozzle
Hell no. 90% of those parts are made in China and you have exposed connectors. Great way to F up something expensive
Cover the alternator with a plastic bag
Que goey eres no mms
Will never use a Pressure Washer, and always cover the Alternator with a Plastic Bag.
Not 👎
This is crazy.. pure water? 😅😅
😅
Cover your alternator..Trust me.
Oh yea use that pressure washer get all that water in the plugs lmfao
The main point of using the spray is to avoid using high-pressure water. That was a big mistake you made.
Really bad idea.... modern engines have all sorts of electronics and sensors...water will destroy it... And not to mention rust...
Goodbye 😢
Never use a pressure washer!
I don't belive it . He should have done one half with this stuff an the other half just water. So then we could see if it really did work .as he sprays the stuff on its goes clean so water would don't the same . I don't belive it .
Eyy don’t do it in that way, cover the alternator
NEVER pressure wash a car engine! He's using an electric pressure washing with relatively low PSI. An engine powered pressure washer would do lots of damage!
Never use water on engine bay, especially a pressure washer!! He didnt even protect the electronics OMFG
That’s a cars engine or something else? Just looks like a hot mess
Yes it's nissan kicks engine, it doesn't have engine cover, it looks so messy haha
Use WD40!!!
Pressure washing from 3 inches away on exposed connectors is crazy.... Really Bad advice 👎
If you need a how-to video on cleaning a car engine, please surrender your driver's license and car keys
looks like you dumped a bag of flour on the engine bay to make a click bait video funny how people will believe anything
It was second handed car, first engine wash, you are free how you believe, flour are white by the way
Go away, I learned so much from him
He didn't do any advertising, and never making clickbait videos, go away and dont come back
You never run water on your engine like that unless you cover vital electronic parts water can get into the sparkplug sockets and other electrical parts that's a no no.
